About

CHEAP TRICK IN CONCERT:

More than four decades after their debut, hard rock titans Cheap Trick continue to possess the same energy and flair that made them an arena rock staple in the '70s. The band has enjoyed an unbroken run ever since their formation in 1973, and it's easy to see why — their chemistry on stage is undeniable, and they clearly have a blast as they treat fans to nostalgic performances of classics like "Surrender" and "The Flame." Back on the road in 2014 with fellow hard rockers Boston, Cheap Trick will bring their signature high-energy show to fans around the country on a string of highly anticipated dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Illinois in 1973, Cheap Trick recorded demos and toured throughout the Midwest before releasing their self-titled 1977 debut. The album failed to find an audience in the US, but it earned them a fan base in Europe and Japan, setting the stage for their future popularity stateside. While sophomore album In Color contained their highly regarded single "I Want You To Want Me," the band didn't make it onto the US charts until "Surrender" was released as the lead single of 1978's Heaven Tonight. By the early '80s the band was selling out arenas around the globe, achieving their most significant popularity in Japan, where enthusiasm over their tours reached Beatlemania-esque proportions. With more than four decades of hard-rocking live shows under their belts, Cheap Trick will bring plenty of veteran know-how with them on their upcoming tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"After 40 years of constant touring and albums, Cheap Trick still rocks! They put on an amazing show with lots of energy. They interacted with the audience and seem so accessible to the crowd."

"Real blast from the past. They haven't slowed down a bit and rocked the house."

"As always, Cheap Trick put on an awesome show. Robin Zander is the best lead singer on the planet & the playlist was great."

  • Great show

Great show with guitar pics. Great special appearances from Gary Cherone from Extreme and Van Halen and Joe Perry Project and Kirk Hammett from Metallica at the end of the night.

  • Fantastic concert!

What a great show! Loved the venue although acoustics were a bit muffled. Hard to hear song lyrics above the music. There’s not a bad seat in this venue. Cheap Trick played a solid 1.5 hours without stopping. They were amazing! Brought me back a few years…

  • Absolutely awesome!

by Hunter on 7/13/24Rating: 5 out of 5

Saw them open up for Journey and Def Leppard in Orlando, safe to say they were AMAZING. They sounded great and the setlist was great and I couldn’t be happier with their performance.

  • Not Good

by KM on 4/23/24Rating: 1 out of 5

Way too loud and horrible mixing. Vocals and instruments came through as a distorted mess. I can attribute some bad acoustics to the arena itself but that could surely have been improved with a competent sound engineer. Zander seemed to be hitting his notes but Nielsen was not playing well at all. Maybe time for him to stop. It was unenjoyable. We left after the fourth song. Never again for Enmarket arena or Cheap Trick.

  • Pretty good, but sound mix really hurt them

by JoeO on 4/21/24Rating: 3 out of 5

Greenville, SC show - opened for Heart, first show on Heart's Royal Flush tour. Sound mix was awful at first. Guitars were way too loud and overpowering, drums too, vocals were way too low and could barely be heard. Took several songs to get it better. The overall volume was too loud even when the mix was more balanced. I had good seats but went to the very back of the lower bowl to check the volume there and still too loud. And there were many times with guitar screeching feedback through the speakers. Unfortunately, opening with "Dream Police"when the sound mix was bad was not good for the show. I'm not sure that opening with a big hit is the best way to go even with a great sound mix. I'm not a huge fan. I mean, I listened to some lesser known songs before the show, but I mainly knew their big hits that had radio play years ago. "I Want You to Want Me"and "Surrender"were both awesome. The vocals were still a bit drowned out but good.

  • Worth every penny

by Toothless bearded hag on 12/21/23Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I have loved Cheap Trick since the 70's. I've seen them multiple times and they always deliver. This tour was off the chain! Seeing RZ's son was a real treat and he lived up to the old adage, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree". Cheap Trick played all the favorites and some deep tracks. I'm so glad I spent a little extra for front and center. It made for a very remarkable and moving experience. If you're a fan, or if you always wanted to see Cheap Trick run, don't walk, to see this band!

  • Burning Flame!

by Mr. Jersey 57 on 11/28/23Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

This was an encore performance for us. First time at Strat here in Vegas and this time at the Palms. Enjoyed the show both times but better this time since The Flame was included in the set list and a definite favorite! While Cheap Trick has been around a long time, they still sound amazing and it is very obvious that they still enjoy performing and focus on making the fans happy! It was worth seeing them again and happy to see them still touring after all these years here in NV!

Avid fan since '79 and they have had a wide range of sound people over this years, but this was the worst. Staggering how blurry the mix was. I'm a professional studio sound engineer who has the utmost appreciation for the uphill fight that is live sound. It's a whole different discipline and even with that said, this mixer did poorly which was very aggravating from good seats near FOH. As for the band, they are as wonderful as always. Zander sounds great for his age and his son is a welcome addition who sounds just as great. But Zander doesn't have intensity on the high notes that he had before, which is to be expected. But all original keys so my hats off. Hamilton's 12 string bass was a marvel during his solo, but lost the rest of the show. Neilson has passed much of this singing rolls to young Zander and traded some of his key guitar moments for the opportunity to pass out guitar picks. Being that his guitar was the loudest thing in the mix, with a slightly odd tone, you could really hear when Neilson nailed the parts, or had to blur over something because his hand was too full of picks. The drums sounded like wet cardboard boxes and cymbals were woefully low. Just mud. In spite of all that, their performance was as engaging and as smile inducing as ever! Though the original members are moving a bit slower, they made it up with great banter, strong performances and good vibes. Look forward to the 50th anniversary tour next year. I just hope they have a new FOH mixer.

These boys rock as hard and sound just as good as they did in 1977!!! Never had a bad experience at a Cheap Trick concert (been to over 30). Every show is different, as they have so many hits and tricks. The Reno 10.22.23 show was AWESOME ! ! !

  • Great show in Reno Nevada

I’ve been listening to Cheap Trick and seeing their shows since I was in high school back in the 80s. They still got it. They still rock!

  • Great Show

by Mish on 10/25/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - RenoRating: 5 out of 5

We had a great time at the show! Cheap Trick was very high energy and played all the songs we love. Long line for t shirts with only one attendant, but we made it to our seats by the time the show started. Drink lines were super short. Maybe because a lot of old people at the show( haha like us) we saw Cheap Trick in the late 70s and they still rock!
