CHEAP TRICK IN CONCERT:
More than four decades after their debut, hard rock titans Cheap Trick continue to possess the same energy and flair that made them an arena rock staple in the '70s. The band has enjoyed an unbroken run ever since their formation in 1973, and it's easy to see why — their chemistry on stage is undeniable, and they clearly have a blast as they treat fans to nostalgic performances of classics like "Surrender" and "The Flame." Back on the road in 2014 with fellow hard rockers Boston, Cheap Trick will bring their signature high-energy show to fans around the country on a string of highly anticipated dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in Illinois in 1973, Cheap Trick recorded demos and toured throughout the Midwest before releasing their self-titled 1977 debut. The album failed to find an audience in the US, but it earned them a fan base in Europe and Japan, setting the stage for their future popularity stateside. While sophomore album In Color contained their highly regarded single "I Want You To Want Me," the band didn't make it onto the US charts until "Surrender" was released as the lead single of 1978's Heaven Tonight. By the early '80s the band was selling out arenas around the globe, achieving their most significant popularity in Japan, where enthusiasm over their tours reached Beatlemania-esque proportions. With more than four decades of hard-rocking live shows under their belts, Cheap Trick will bring plenty of veteran know-how with them on their upcoming tour.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"After 40 years of constant touring and albums, Cheap Trick still rocks! They put on an amazing show with lots of energy. They interacted with the audience and seem so accessible to the crowd."
"Real blast from the past. They haven't slowed down a bit and rocked the house."
"As always, Cheap Trick put on an awesome show. Robin Zander is the best lead singer on the planet & the playlist was great."

One of the worse bands I have seen, and I have seen a lot of bands.
Was a decent concert, to hear most of their best songs. Seemed as though they went through the paces for the show which is a letdown for a rockin' group. Glad to see them at the Grand Sierra in Reno, NV.
Incredible evening of rock n roll! These guys are still bringin' it 100% after half a century. Do yourself a favor and go see them while you can. They don't play the same show every night, so go as many times as you can. This particular venue (Grand Sierra Resort & Casino in Reno, NV), made the incredible experience even better. This was the 3rd time I've seen them since mid-September, and it was usually a let down when the show was over, as that meant the night was pretty much over as well. But in Reno, we got rooms at the venue hotel, went out to one of the best meals I've ever had at Charlie Palmer's Steakhouse beforehand, saw Cheap Trick's amazing show, and then the night was still young! The rest I don't remember.
Band was very good. Considering their age, they still sing and play very well. Down side is the concert was just too short for the amount I paid to see them. They played just over 1 hour, with no opening band, and tickets were over $150. It was nice to see them live, but I wish they could have played longer, considering a headliner with 40+ years playing has an extensive catalog to play from, an they were not entirely animated on stage, just kinda walked around a bit, but that was it.
Outstanding, the whole experience was uplifting. I have been a fan of Cheap Trick since 1978. Finally, I the chance to see them. I was not disappointed.
THE LAST TIME MY WIFE AND I SAW THE BAND WAS IN 1980 IN SAN DIEGO. MY CLOSE FRIEND,LARRY HUFF,WHO WAS CHEAP TRICKS FIRST MANAGER INVITED US TO GO SEE AND MEET THE BAND. WE DROVE DOWN FROM THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY WHER WE ALL LIVED AND SPENT TIME BEFORE THE SHOW WITH THE BAND. GREAT GUYS,HAPPY TO SEE LARRY. WE THEN PROCEDED TO SIT ON THE STAGE SIDE DURING THE SHOW. I THINK THAT THERE WERE CLOSE TO 20,000 PEOPLE THERE. FANTASTIC SHOW. MY WIFE STILL HAS RICKS GUITAR PICKS THAT HE KEPT THROWING DOWN HER TOP. ANYWAY, WE ALL ARE MUCH OLDER NOW AND THE BAND HAS SLOWED DOWN A BIT, BUT STILL DELIVERED A GREAT SHOW. IF YOU LOVE THE BAND DON'T MISS THEM.
Great concert, all real all live. After playing for 50 years Cheap Trick still sounds awesome, Robin's voice is fantastic, great great show.
First of all, I would like to say that the venue at Gila Resort/Casino was excellent. The ride there was nice. Parking was very easy and the place is very nice. The showroom is very comfortable and all of the seats are excellent and comfortable. I first heard Cheap Trick in the 70's when I was in High School and I always wanted to see them. I think they did a great job! I was disappointed because I wanted to hear more songs from their Masterpiece Album "Live at the Budakhan"like "Need your Love"and "Big Eyes"but I realize that some of those songs are very hard to perform live. We're all getting older and I give them much credit for the great job they did. It was an excellent night and We're very glad that we went. I will be going to more concerts at Gila River when they are available.
I love this venue. Wild horse pass is intimate and no seat feels too far away. Cheap trick still sound very good. Sound system is great. They do need to add some more bar tenders to the bar inside the showroom.
Cheap Trick: still awesome after 50 years! Robin & Daxx bring sooo much energy & enthusiasm. Great to be a part of this show. Thank you!!
