CHEAP TRICK IN CONCERT:

More than four decades after their debut, hard rock titans Cheap Trick continue to possess the same energy and flair that made them an arena rock staple in the '70s. The band has enjoyed an unbroken run ever since their formation in 1973, and it's easy to see why — their chemistry on stage is undeniable, and they clearly have a blast as they treat fans to nostalgic performances of classics like "Surrender" and "The Flame." Back on the road in 2014 with fellow hard rockers Boston, Cheap Trick will bring their signature high-energy show to fans around the country on a string of highly anticipated dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Illinois in 1973, Cheap Trick recorded demos and toured throughout the Midwest before releasing their self-titled 1977 debut. The album failed to find an audience in the US, but it earned them a fan base in Europe and Japan, setting the stage for their future popularity stateside. While sophomore album In Color contained their highly regarded single "I Want You To Want Me," the band didn't make it onto the US charts until "Surrender" was released as the lead single of 1978's Heaven Tonight. By the early '80s the band was selling out arenas around the globe, achieving their most significant popularity in Japan, where enthusiasm over their tours reached Beatlemania-esque proportions. With more than four decades of hard-rocking live shows under their belts, Cheap Trick will bring plenty of veteran know-how with them on their upcoming tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"After 40 years of constant touring and albums, Cheap Trick still rocks! They put on an amazing show with lots of energy. They interacted with the audience and seem so accessible to the crowd."

"Real blast from the past. They haven't slowed down a bit and rocked the house."

"As always, Cheap Trick put on an awesome show. Robin Zander is the best lead singer on the planet & the playlist was great."

Incredible concert, best damn rock & roll band ever!

by Mark 77 on 10/25/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

These boys rock as hard and sound just as good as they did in 1977!!! Never had a bad experience at a Cheap Trick concert (been to over 30). Every show is different, as they have so many hits and tricks. The Reno 10.22.23 show was AWESOME ! ! !

    Great show in Reno Nevada

I’ve been listening to Cheap Trick and seeing their shows since I was in high school back in the 80s. They still got it. They still rock!

    Great Show

by Mish on 10/25/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

We had a great time at the show! Cheap Trick was very high energy and played all the songs we love. Long line for t shirts with only one attendant, but we made it to our seats by the time the show started. Drink lines were super short. Maybe because a lot of old people at the show( haha like us) we saw Cheap Trick in the late 70s and they still rock!

    Still Trickin'

by Brian on 10/25/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

"Just a couple of guys too stupid to know when to quit,"and Thank you for that. Despite the fact that the band is showing signs of age (Rick Nielsen literally drug out the five neck guitar, did a pass on stage, took a breather on an amp an went for more!) the show was great! We danced the whole show, to all of our favorite Cheap Tricks songs, the solos were great too. I applaud Rick Nielsen and Robin Zander for still sharing their talents and bringing us a wonderful evening of music. They promised a 50th anniversary tour and I hope it comes through Reno, because we will be back too. Can't wait.

    Great Show!

by Ann P on 10/25/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

Cheap Trick did not disappoint. We had not seen them for several years and they didn't skip a beat even after so many years. Lots of energy and great music! Loved seeing Rick's guitar collection!

    Terrific show

by Michelle on 10/25/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

I have seen Cheap Trick four times, the first time in 1978 at the Long Beach Auditorium. The last two times were at small venues and not as good as I expected. The Reno show at the Grand Sierra was terrific and would look forward to seeing them again.

    VERY FUN EXPERIENCE!

by Deena on 10/25/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

Right when they come on stage, you know this group will be fun. They all have funky hats and clothing but the main attraction is how good they are. And they really make you feel like you, as a fan, are appreciated and they give it their all. Highly recommend!

    Good show

by Gary G on 10/25/23Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

It was a good life experience to see them for the first time. Excellent musicians with good showmanship. The only drawback was the sound quality; a bit fuzzy due to the volume perhaps.

    Cheap Trick Rick’s the Pearl

by Phildo2112 on 10/18/23Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

This was my first time seeing Cheap Trick as a headliner, and they did not disappoint. Everybody and everything was right on time. Rick, Robin, and Tom have not lost a beat after all these years. My only complaint is I would’ve liked to of heard more from the dream police album. I waited a long time to see these guys as a headliner, I’ve seen them on a triple bill with the reduced playlist, and was late to a show where I only got to see them play the last two songs. It was a long wait but worth it

Cheap Trick is Rock N Roll

by DanO on 10/17/23Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

I recently saw Cheap Trick at the Pearl Theatre in Las Vegas. I must say I have seen hundreds of bands and have attended over 240+ concerts in my life (yes, you read that right). Cheap Trick rocks! They are a band you must see live. Rick Neilsson uses more guitars in a show than anyone I have ever seen. That's probably because they catch fire from his blazing solos. Robin Zander still has that voice he had in the 1980's. He sounded great. The bass player has a 12-string bass he wails on. I had never seen a 12-string bass until that show. Rick's son is on drums and Robin's son is on rhythm guitar and vocals. Both are very capable rockers in their own right. The setlist was excellent and did not disappoint. I must say Cheap Trick fans were awesome too shouting out songs to play and singing along with the band on every song. It was a very good show and I highly recommend you checking Cheap Trick out when they come to your town, Cheap Trick rocks!!!

"Can you honestly tell me you forgot..."

    by F.P. Anacrusis on 10/17/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - Tucson

"Forgot the magnetism of Robin Zander, or the charisma of Rick Nielsen?'"(Mike Damone Fast Times At Ridgemont High - 1982). 41 years later, Mike Damone's words to describe Cheap Trick still hold true today. Cheap Trick made a stop @ The Rialto Theater on 10/11/23, and they did not disappoint. Robin Zander has always been the perfect front man with the prerequisite good looks and good voice, and both are holding up well in 2023. Rick Nielsen slowed down a little bit, but he was still tossing guitar picks the entire show and entertaining the crowd. The pleasant surprise, and the glue that held the band together, was Robin's son, Robin Taylor Zander. He deserves so much credit for both his vocal and guitar work. Robin Taylor Zander doubled most of his dad's vocals throughout the set and played his heart out on rhythm guitar. If you go see Cheap Trick, you will be hard pressed not to be drawn into spending all of your time watching him provide so much energy to the band. He also was given the opportunity to sing lead vocals on an underrated deep track, "Downed", from the 1977 release "In Color". He killed it! The set list consisted of a nice mixture of songs (He's a Whore, Big Eyes, She's Tight, I Know What I Want, You Got It Going On) from their entire catalog with four tracks from both "Dream Police"and "In Color". I appreciated that the songs were played the way in which they are on the albums. The highlight for me was, "Need Your Love"from the Dream Police album. They nailed all the vocals and the music, and when I closed my eyes and just listened, I was transported back to the 1979 tour to support the album. The crowd lost their minds when Cheap Trick played their most popular songs, "I Want You to Want Me", "Surrender”, and "The Flame". I watched everyone from the Rialto security detail to the bar tenders, to the local Tucson PD, singing the chorus, "Wherever you go, I'll be with you. Whatever you want, I'll give it to you. Whenever you need someone to lay your heart and head upon..." A very entertaining show that kept the crowd captivated without any of those usual low points where the crowd loses interest. Great job Cheap Trick for putting on a show that was worth every hard-earned penny I paid for the tickets. You know it was a great show, when you go home and add a myriad of their songs to your favorite playlist, which is exactly what I did when I got home. “The Dream Police, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah nah…”

    End of Tour Blues?

by jshawaii on 10/16/23Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

First of all, we all love the Palms Concert Venue. Best venue in Vegas, IMHO. Good views and great sound up in the high seats (yeah for line arrays) Very Easy to get in and out of the lot and free parking. Now... I've seen a lot of classic rock shows, but this one is not in my top 5. The band played all the expected songs... but I saw Cheap Trick when they did a Beatles revue and ended with the same hits of theirs and this was a let down. I know they're getting old, aren't we all? Maybe a break from touring would help. By the way, go watch video from Sammy Hagar's awesome show a couple months ago for an example of a 'top 5 show'

    Stiff competition.

by KeithG on 10/15/23Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

Age might have slowed down the stage antics but when it comes to the sound and the fury, Cheap Trick still brings it every night. Great show, Zander still has the pipes.

    Unfortunately, lack luster show

by Pffftttttt on 10/15/23Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

Ive seen CT over 30 times. Im from Chicago & they're "home-town boys". This was by far my least happy experience seeing them. Show felt "rushed", and awkward. Didnt play fan favs much, and weird audience exchanges. Just didnt care for THIS performance.

    An evening of classics

by Russell Knotts on 10/15/23Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

This was my first chance to see Cheap Trick. It was worth the wait. I know most of the songs and I joined in with the rest of the audience to song the hits. Robin Zander’s voice has held out very well over the year. Pure entertainment.
