CELTIC ILLUSION “REIMAGINED”

Celtic Illusion, the premier Irish Dance and Grand Illusion sensation that audiences are going crazy over returns to Melbourne this September

The daring world first fusion features exciting new choreography, impossible illusions, remastered classics and captivating orchestral music that will blow you away. This is a sensory experience like no other. Fans who have previously witnessed this world class spectacle will be left on the edge of their seats as we push the boundaries of Irish Dance and Illusion further than ever before.

Showcasing a stellar cast of champion and internationally-acclaimed dancers, including performers from both Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, Celtic Illusion offers some of the fastest taps in the world as the dancers’ thunderous rhythm fills the stage in perfect unison. The show is led by Australia’s very own Anthony Street, the first Australian to perform leading roles in Michael Flatley’s widely-acclaimed Lord of the Dance, including the very role that Michael Flatley originally performed himself.

The show is an exhilarating journey bright with colour, passion and athleticism. The unique combination of two incredible art forms is an unforgettable theatrical experience for the whole family to enjoy.

This is Celtic Illusion… Reimagined!

    Delusional - Worst Ever

by Tinydancer on 3/10/20Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This was hands down the worst show ever. The illusions were amateur and I’ve seen better magic at kids birthday parties. The dancing was the river dance “D” team. But the absolute most disgusting thing was the lead. He had an ego unlike no other. Strutting across that stage like a peacock with his shirt off. I’ve never seen a performance where the lead encourages/asks the audience for permission an encore -twice. WASTE. DONT GO

    Celtic Illusion a disappointment

by showfan on 3/6/20Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

low budget production, mediocre performances, poor staging, so so costume, background fake tap dance sound effect cheapens actual tap dancing's impressiveness.

    Disappointing

by irishgirl on 3/5/20Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

We leave be Irish dancing and have seen other shows. The real illusion is the marketing of this performance as an illusion show. There were very few illusions, and most were repetitive. The dance numbers were also repetitive. A number of people around us left early. We would've left early too but we're with my parents who bought the tickets. They we're also very disappointed in the show. The dancers are really talented but they're wasted in this program.

Very disappointed! Venue and black stage ruined the show.

by Local Critic on 3/3/20Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

Why 4 solos by Angela Little? This production was boring! The sound system was off. I went to see Celtic Dancing and Grand Illusions. The illusions were good but the magic was really just ok. The Irish Dancing was 5 Star! Well done dancers!

    Amateur Hour

by Chris on 3/2/20Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

I was very disappointed with the caliber of this event. While the dancing was good, the illusions were very basic and were just a distraction from the dancing. The singer had a beautiful voice but was very uninspired and boring. I would give this one a pass.

    Hard to review,

by McClean on 2/29/20Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I wavered between 3 or 4 stars mainly because of the title of the show. If you are going to see magic, don't go..if you are going to a concert don't go...But..if you are going to see some amazing dancers..Do go. The magic was minimum and ho hum, you could see the switch at times, there were only about 8 tricks, the Singing of the ballads was Sweet and Pleasing...but there were only 4 songs. The Dancing however was Amazing. This is a very talented group of dancers. Fast paced and very entertaining. The back up.dancers were as good and at times better then the lead dancers. The only jarring note of the dancing was actually the female lead, and it wasn't necessarily her dancing but her makeup and hair. They tried too hard to make her appear younger then she was. Given her age the loose story line came across as silly. All in all you came away with a feeling that it was put together to try to show case her as a last hurrah, when they would of been better off focusing on the entire troupes Amazing, Quick, and Intricate foot work.

The dancing is simply amazing and how fast their feet move. The illusions are also amazing.

    Average/ok

by AVG on 2/27/20Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

There was no Program printed/supplied and that was first disappointment. Illusions were mediocre and could be omitted really. Dance was spectacular for all dancers. Great encore presentations. Still disappointed about programs especially when it was announced the dancers would be signing autographs (which never happened).
