Cavetown Live in Concert

Born Robin Skinner in Oxford, United Kingdom, Cavetown is a project of the classically trained, Cambridge-based musician. Skinner rose to prominence in the music scene in the mid-2000s by developing a popular YouTube channel with ukulele-infused covers of pop music icons like Elvis Presley, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, and Twenty-One Pilots. However, music was a crucial part of Skinner's life from the outset. By the age of 8, Skinner's father was named the Director of Music at Cambridge University. Skinner began recording original music in 2013 and founded the project Cavetown a year later, releasing self-written, self-recorded singles and albums almost immediately. Cavetown's first taste of commercial success came in 2015 with the hit single "This is Home." Cavetown went on to release their self-titled debut album later that year. Recently, Cavetown paired up with singer/songwriter and guitarist beabadoobee to create the recently released "Fall in Love with a Girl," which Cavetown described in a statement as being "about someone who's struggling with their sexuality and how that affects their happiness.

    Excellent experience

    by Wkrae on 8/1/23

As a mom and two teens, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Cavetown concert in Chicago. The opening lineup was an added treat. Cavetown draws a crowd that’s very friendly and real. We felt totally comfortable even in the midst of a large general admission crowd. The lively performance was a good mix of styles and moods and the encore was amazing. We would definitely recommend if you’re even remotely familiar with Cavetown.

    Early access is a joke.

    by Anon on 8/1/23

I paid $87 for a VIP early access ticket which promised 30min early entry, as well as a tote bag and badge. VIP instead got let in at the exact same time as general admission. So basically I paid an extra $50 for a cheap tote bag, and a badge I’m never going to wear again. The concert itself was fantastic, 10/10. I just wish I got what I paid for for early entry.

I’ve been wanting to see Robbie for so long his music speaks to me and makes me feel heard as someone who can relate to his older songs and his new ones I did a lot of smiles and made some friends

    by Swan2b on 8/1/23

I am so, so glad I took my 12 yo daughter to this concert. Tbh I wasn’t sure how this would be but it was absolutely stellar! Great music, great atmosphere, great vibes all around! Neither of us could have enjoyed it more! Lifetime memories were made and I have collected a whole handful of new artists to truly love and share with my kiddo. Beautiful energy, powerful messages and damn good music!

    AMAZING

    by Nini on 8/1/23

Amazing experience!! This was my first solo concert, so I was pretty anxious about it but wow! All the artists were so amazing. The venue was great. I truly had a blast. Cavetown is soo beautiful in person. Truly special to see an artist that has impacted my life and ended up on many of my playlists in person. Mxmtoon is such a gem. And I instantly became a fan of Ricky Montgomery. All around an amazing concert, wish I could see it again

    Making memories

    by PJ on 7/31/23

Took my granddaughter to her 1st concert. She’s 12. Enjoyed thoroughly. I thought I was going to be like a fish out of water, since I am a grandma, but I was glad to see quite a few other parents there. The show was a breath of fresh air, not at all like the concerts I have attended in the past. It was an uplifting experience with LGBTQ theme. There were a few girls making out, but nothing over the top. All the acts were great, a lot of audience participation. They all were concerned with the audience staying hydrated and stopped the concert a few times when someone had a medical issue (it was so hot). The venue was open air, with fans blowing continuously. For as long as the lines were, it didn’t seem crowded. The personnel were very helpful and courteous. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. We plan on going the next time his tour brings him back this way!

    Amazing!

    by Rebel4114 on 7/31/23

I was on the floor, near to the barrier, and it was hot. Waters were being frequently passed out but even then we did have a couple people drop. Instead of continuing the show performers listened to cries for help, getting fans the help we needed. A LGBTQ+ helpline was the charity for the show, and all performers even signed a guitar to raffle off. the show was amazing not only for their empathy but also the ability to put on a show! These guys were killer in everything they did, I never felt the energy dip from onstage even with the heat. Super impressive.

    Extraordinary

The music rattled my ribcage and shook my heart with a feeling I've never felt before. Ticket purchasing was easy, parking was easy before and after as well as actually standing in line. Amazing venu with staff and people. For my first experience, I couldn't complain. Props to staff and security for helping the crowd stay hydrated!

    awesome time!!!!

    by princess on 7/24/23

I had a really great time!!! I brought two of my friends and we all loved it and enjoyed ourself a ton! Cavetown performance (along with all the other artist, grent perez, ricky Montgomery, and mxmtoon) were so fun to watch perform! Also loved all the merch super cute and cute backdrops to take pictures too it was nice!!! The only reason I didn’t give a full 5 star was because I couldn’t find any water fountains and we didn’t get an encore but I believe this was because of the venue and not the artist. But overall amazing performance

    Fun!

    by Wen on 7/24/23

My first concert, I don’t have anything to compare it to but I loved it! Everyone was super nice and the bands were great and made me as an audience member feel seen as they personalized the show (ex: this is the second time we played this live). Only complaint is that food was wayy too expensive and I didn’t have enough money to buy water so I was super thirsty.

    A bittersweet itme

    by Silo on 7/24/23

Overall everything was fun, the people were kind and musicians checked up and got active with the crowd there weren't many if any negatives. If you enjoy their music then seeing it live does nothing more than elevate the quality. Obviously, some of the music had a sad undertone but that's to be expected but they made sure to add in some happy songs to elevate the mood 5/5 would see again.
