Great, music, unbelievable dancing, beautiful costumes. The whole atmosphere is magical.
I'm a big fan of Cats since the 90s so I may be biased. This production as just as campy as I remember and is an amazing nostalgia trip if you grew up watching it on PBS. For those that haven't seen it, it's best to go in remembering that it's just fun. You're not going to follow everything but you'll enjoy the incredible voices and dancing.
I've been wanting to see Cats since I was little. The show was AMAZING! It was everything I could have asked for. If in NYC in the future I will definitely go again!
We had never seen Cats before but heard a lot about it since 1994 when it came to San Francisco. I finally purchased the tickets on my son's university graduation and we all went to NYC last weekend. I think this was the most worthless waste of time and money we had. both of my kids who are into literature/music and dances left their seats around 45 minutes after the start. I and my wife wanted to make it an example to take the torture since we paid for it, til the end but I had to go to the bathroom and felt it was much better standing in the lobby. My wife also joined in and we decided to not go back after the intermission. The play has no story, no logic, no thrill and no charm. I wonder, how they survived all these years. I feel for those artist that actually have art and skills to perform but never get a chance. Don't get me wrong, we are cat lovers and have at least one or more cats at home... We simply couldn't find any entertainment in this rubbish. Please, do your research and do not go there just because it's so famous. Use that money to buy ice cream or pay it to a charity and you'd find it far more pleasing.
The music was perfect, dancing amazing, lighting unforgetable.
