CATS, the record-breaking musical spectacular by ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER that has captivated audiences in over 30 countries and 15 languages, is back on Broadway! Based on T.S. Eliot’s “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats,” this wonderfully imaginative show features breathtaking music, including one of the most treasured songs in musical theater – “Memory.” Winner of 7 Tony Awards® including BEST MUSICAL, CATS tells the story of one magical night when an extraordinary tribe of cats gathers for its annual ball to rejoice and decide which cat will be reborn. Featuring a cast of beautiful dancers and singers and the original Tony-winning sets and costumes, this beloved hit is still Broadway’s most unforgettable event. Experience CATS for the first time as it begins a new life for a new generation … or let it thrill you once again!

I loved Cats when I was younger and always hoped I would be able to see it performed live one day. The cast didn't disappoint, it was just what I hoped for from a live performance of Cats. Not to mention that the cast was super nice when they signed my playbill following the performance.
The dancing was good. The singing was generally fine. But there is no plot. The dialogue, such as it is, is mostly nonsense words from TS Eliot's poems about cats. And the score is very limited. So if you like dance more than theater, you might enjoy the spectacle a lot. My teenage kids liked it. I personally found it boring, because, while I love ballet, this performance doesn't have the musical depth or dance seriousness to compensate for lack of any plot.
A must see for all who like very well done musicals. Would go again next time in new york
There is no question about it - if you enjow amazing dancers and musicians, this is the best musical!
I am sorry, this was not a good play. The costumes looked like they were kept from the original play. The song that made the play famous was cut short. There was absolutely no updating of this play whatsoever. After 30 some odd years it needed to be brought in the year 2016! My husband and I left at intermission. We actually have never walked out of a play before. It was truly awful. Please if anything you can do for the public is close this play as soon as possible.
I loved this musical. I grew up watching it on vhs as a child. Now as an adult, I was able to experience it on Broadway. From beginning to end, it held my attention, with amazing professional dancing, acting and infectious music. It brought back memories while bringing a tear to my eye when the song "memories" came played. I can't wait to see it again! :-)
Overall the show was great and it was so surreal to see it in real life. I have loved this show since I was a little girl and I am dissapointed on how the have changed practically all the dance moves, they changed the words to Mungojjerie and Rumpleteazers song and even the music sounded different. I wish they kept it true to the original and used Gillian Lynne's choreography. But it was still great and I will see it again.
Great peformance. Well choreographed---and great enthusiasm. Everyopne's voice were outstanding.
Worst show I have ever seen. We left at intermission. The actors were good and very talented, they performed what they were asked to perform very well. To me, it was like watching a dance recital. The choreography made no sense, the music was terrible, there was no story or plot, I just didn't get it!!
Still one of the best shows on Broadway! The dancing was just as amazing as it was when I first saw it 18 years ago. I had chills! The songs are so much fun you'll be singing them for days! What a talented cast and wonderful show! Go see it!!
I saw the original Broadway production in 1983. The revival is a gorgeous and magical production. I had purchased tickets for August 5. I loved it enough to see it again on August 7 before flying back to Michigan
The play was terrific. I enjoyed the cat people coming into the spectators section.
Having never seen Cats before I had an idea of what to expect based on snippets of you tube, etc. It was a pleasant surprise - better than expected - and I don't think the cast could have given anymore to the audience. The fact that there was live entertainment that was able to provide pure enjoyment without any negativity at all was quite refreshing. This play is user-friendly and as someone who worked at a rather large company providing events for out-of-towners way back when, it's rather hard to find a play that will not offend anyone. This is it! My 20 year old daughter had to see it, as it was on her bucket list. We see alot of plays together and this was one that got away. We're thrilled it came back to Broadway. BTW, I dislike cats and am not a fan of cats in real life. But in theater, I'm a cat lovin' groupie!
CATS was phenominal! I was beyond satisfied. It was full of the best dancing and singing throughout the whole play. I had orchestra k seats and they were perfect. I highly recommend seeing this classic. I saw original and this was just as good!
First, I'd like to start by saying the dancers were amazing! However, they were the only good thing about this show. I didn't see the show back in the day, but watching it in 2016 felt like they didn't do anything to enhance it. Cons: - The set. Nothing moves around, it's one flat scene the entire show. Maybe in the 80's we weren't advanced enough for something more exciting, but in 2016, it could have been something special. -No plot. It was just kinda flat. Maybe I would have known this if I would have seen the original, but it didn't keep my attention. - Super sexist! I'm not one to go looking for this, but it's pretty blatant here...so strange.
Love it! Love the cast! Loved costumes! Loved the music! Loved Leona Lewis!
This is probably my fourth time seeing CATS but the first time on Broadway. This show has a beautiful score, memorable characters, and unbelievable dancers who are the stars of the show. I completely enjoyed it!
Fabulous, a tremendous family experience from a 9 yr old to a 80 yr old!!!! We all had a blast and remember a cat is not a dog!!! Missed the cat's eyes on the cover of the program.
my daughter and I saw Cats and were on the edge of our seats for the entire show!! It was so very entertaining!!
