Like so many, I grew up watching Carol Burnett and watching her show with my family is one of my best childhood memories. So I was beyond excited to see her. Unfortunately, people in general have lost their manners. Many people were over-served. They were distracting, loud, and rude. Chicago Theater continued to seat people 20 minutes into the performance. Obnoxious and distracting. Then there was a dispute over who was supposed to be sitting in front of me, the elderly couple who took pics and videos throughout the performance and play them back, or some other people. You try watching Carol Burnett with 4 people and an usher all trying to figure out who belongs where. The ushers were too busy talking in the back of the theater which is where I sat to say anything to the old couple filming. They weren't just talking, but holding the doors open for some reason, maybe so people in the lobby could still watch while they were buying more beer. And with all that beer people were up and down and in and out using the bathroom and buying more drinks. I paid a lot of money and waited a long time, more than 2 years, to see this show. People should definitely know how to behave in public but the ushers should know what their job entails and do it. A huge thumbs down for the Chicago Theater, the ushers and 1/4 of the audience. Sorry Carol Burnett, you deserved much, much better and so did I.
