About

Carly Rae Jepsen in Concert

After multi-platinum Grammy, Juno and Polaris Prize nominated singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen released her critically acclaimed album E·MO·TION in 2015, it became "a modern touchstone for a new crop of pop-leaning artists and legacy acts," as NPR noted. The album also inspired an abundance of memes — extending the cultural cachet that Jepsen earned from the ubiquity of her GRAMMY® -nominated blockbuster hit "Call Me Maybe" (from her U.S debut album Kiss), which not only climbed to No. 1 on the iTunes Singles charts in over 47 countries, sold over 20 million singles worldwide, and was certified Diamond in the U.S., but was referenced by everyone from former secretary-of-state Colin Powell to Cookie Monster.

Jepsen's most recent album, 2019's Dedicated, retains the joyful, hook-filled feeling of its predecessor. But where E*MO*TION was an '80s-influenced synth-pop classic that Rolling Stone called "a pop masterclass" and Stereogum called "indisputable, unfuckwithable pop genius," Dedicated has a more '70s-inspired feel at times, though the album defies categorization as a whole, with Vulture stating, "Dedicated is both stranger and freer than the last record, but it also feels more confident and considered." Working with a crew of trusted songwriters and producers, among them John Hill, Jack Antonoff, Captain Cuts, Patrik Berger, and her longtime collaborator Tavish Crowe, Jepsen indulged in more sonic experimentation than she had in the past. Dedicated features the fan favorites "Party For One," "Now That I Found You," "No Drug Like Me" and "Julien."

Jepsen landed the lead role in the 2014 Broadway production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella and later starred as the iconic Pink Lady, "Frenchy," in FOX's four-time EMMY award winning musical GREASE: LIVE. Jepsen voiced the character of Odette in the animated movie "LEAP!," which also featured Jepsen's song "Cut To The Feeling."

Carly Rae Jepsen on Tour

Following the release of Dedicated Jepsen embarked on a global tour playing to audiences at venues like the Arizona Federal Theatre in North America, as well as crowds in Japan, China, Australia, Canada and Europe. Jepsen will return to the U.S. later this year for performances at Coachella and Governor's Ball.

  • The VIP was meh

by EA on 10/13/22South Side Ballroom - DallasRating: 3 out of 5

The venue was not the best. I got the VIP Experience which was lackluster. The tour manager said no phones, no autographs…basically CRJ answered 5 questions and took a group photo with an iPhone and left. Seemed like a watered down and rushed version of a tour compared to her previous ones.

  • Her shows only get better and better!

This was my 5th time seeing Carly Rae live (been to all the tours) and this one was the best yet. The setlist was PERFECT for the fans and covered every album (even the b-sides!)

  • The best time!

by Mina on 10/13/22713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

Carly puts on such an awesome show! My boyfriend who isn’t really into girly pop still had a great time. She is so energetic and bubbly. You gotta love it. Also the venue is so spacious and easy to get a good view of the stage from pretty much anywhere in there. Gonna see the 1975 in November at this venue as well. CAN’T WAIT!

  • Slay of the year

Empress Of opened for CRJ and she was a great singer and dancer! She was giving Charli XCX performance energy honestly! Carly came out and slayed us all, can’t wait to see her again someday!!!

  • incradible performance!

by concertenjoyer on 10/12/22713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

We didn't have to wait to get in at all. The show started right on time, which was impressive. The opener was unexpectedly good. And Carly was AMAZING! Her vocal delivery was butter smooth. The stage props and the band setup was all so nice and welcoming, rather than overwhelming. In terms of mixing, the master volume was not unnecessarily high as is usually the case in venues like this. Her voice came through super clear. The crowd was very respectful to her and to each other. Overall great experience!

  • *Future Tik Tok Sound* heh... Sensational

by Mikah on 10/12/22713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 4 out of 5

Amazing concert, amazing crowd, amazing venue. 713 is one of my favorite venues in Texas. I drove 2.5 hours into Houston for this concert and it was absolutely worth it. The opener has a lot of energy- just not sure if they match the demographic of the crowd. CRJ's stage presence, show, and set dressing is amazing though. I paid for parking in one of the garages through Ticketmaster. The location was a little confusing, but super easy to access and maybe 5 blocks from the venue. Highly recommend on all fronts!

Carly Rae was great live! Avoid the VIP. Terrible package all together. Meet and greet was done with pre asked questions. No fan questions allowed.

If y’all get the chance to see Carly Rae Jepsen in concert do yourself a favor and go. She sings her ass off - catchy and relatable songs. Great musicians and her background singers are gorg and up to the task. The audience was on its feet for the entire concert. The Tennessee Theatre is a gorgeous venue and has fantastic acoustics.

  • The Greatest Show On Earth

    by B. W. on 10/5/22Rating: 5 out of 5

This is my first concert and I am so glad Carly was my introduction. The setlist was hit after hit. The venue was gorgeous. The staff and attendees were so kind and friendly. The sound was perfect and the visuals were breathtaking. She looked so gorgeous and interacted with the crowd often. Her voice was so clear and never missed a beat even after a two hour setlist. She made eye contact with me twice. I am forever starstruck by this sweet woman. Carly is a performer to her bones. The night was full of pop escapist anthems. I wish I could live in my concert experience forever. Thank you Carly for everything, I love you so much.
