About

Carly Rae Jepsen in Concert

After multi-platinum Grammy, Juno and Polaris Prize nominated singer/songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen released her critically acclaimed album E·MO·TION in 2015, it became "a modern touchstone for a new crop of pop-leaning artists and legacy acts," as NPR noted. The album also inspired an abundance of memes — extending the cultural cachet that Jepsen earned from the ubiquity of her GRAMMY® -nominated blockbuster hit "Call Me Maybe" (from her U.S debut album Kiss), which not only climbed to No. 1 on the iTunes Singles charts in over 47 countries, sold over 20 million singles worldwide, and was certified Diamond in the U.S., but was referenced by everyone from former secretary-of-state Colin Powell to Cookie Monster.

Jepsen's most recent album, 2019's Dedicated, retains the joyful, hook-filled feeling of its predecessor. But where E*MO*TION was an '80s-influenced synth-pop classic that Rolling Stone called "a pop masterclass" and Stereogum called "indisputable, unfuckwithable pop genius," Dedicated has a more '70s-inspired feel at times, though the album defies categorization as a whole, with Vulture stating, "Dedicated is both stranger and freer than the last record, but it also feels more confident and considered." Working with a crew of trusted songwriters and producers, among them John Hill, Jack Antonoff, Captain Cuts, Patrik Berger, and her longtime collaborator Tavish Crowe, Jepsen indulged in more sonic experimentation than she had in the past. Dedicated features the fan favorites "Party For One," "Now That I Found You," "No Drug Like Me" and "Julien."

Jepsen landed the lead role in the 2014 Broadway production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella and later starred as the iconic Pink Lady, "Frenchy," in FOX's four-time EMMY award winning musical GREASE: LIVE. Jepsen voiced the character of Odette in the animated movie "LEAP!," which also featured Jepsen's song "Cut To The Feeling."

Carly Rae Jepsen on Tour

Following the release of Dedicated Jepsen embarked on a global tour playing to audiences at venues like the Arizona Federal Theatre in North America, as well as crowds in Japan, China, Australia, Canada and Europe. Jepsen will return to the U.S. later this year for performances at Coachella and Governor's Ball.

    So So on Carly

by FanofTom on 9/4/12Los Angeles County Fair - Pomona

Talented singer, but all the songs sounded the same. She was not into the concert, just show up, do a few songs and leave. She was not into the event, so therefore did not connect with the audience. At most, connected barely with the people she tweets with and had them come up on the stage.

Carley Rae Jepsen / Shane Harper

by CathyB17 on 9/4/12Los Angeles County Fair - Pomona

The concert started late which caused problems later on in the evening for us as we had taken public transportation and missed the last train back to the station. Shane Harper had more of the spotlight than Ms. Jepsen. Ms. Jepsen apparently was having some vocal issues as my kids commented that she sounded "screechy". Also, with only one song that was familiar they found themselves bored.

Carly put on a remarkable show and sounded just like her recordings. My daughter had a blast!

Shane rocked, but CarlyRae appeared briefly

by notan8yrold on 9/3/12Los Angeles County Fair - Pomona

Shane Harper gave a great performance and interacted with the audience. He played for 45 minutes. Carly Rae Jepsen performed for roughly 30 minutes. What a disappointment. I've never been to a concert where the opening act played a longer set than the headliner. I paid a lot for my tickets.

    Jepson concert too short

by TAD5 on 9/3/12Los Angeles County Fair - Pomona

Shane Harper opened the show on time. His songs were mostly enjoyable but there were a few sleeper songs. Overall enjoyable for the 45 minute set. Carly Rae was just okay. Her songs were enjoyable but the biggest disappointment was that she only had a 45 minute set!!! AND she had NO encore. I think the audience was in shock that her show had ended after 45 minutes because I could hear the people around me saying "Is that it? Is it over?". To everyone's surprise, it was over!

    Carly Rae Jepsen FTW!

by Riki333 on 9/3/12Los Angeles County Fair - Pomona

The concert was great! Jepsen came out during the second half and did not disappoint. She sang about 3 new songs that were unheard before and "Call me maybe" at the very end.

Great Show but ended abruptly. Not sure if that is because the audience was fairly young.

Carly Rae is not a people's person. Doesnt even seem to appreciate her fans.....just a waste of my money. I enjoyed Shane Harpers performance than hers. Really disappointed.

    One Hit Wonder Forever

by momoj on 9/3/12Los Angeles County Fair - Pomona

Very disappointed. All the songs had minimal words pasted together in simplistic ways and repeated ad infinitum, interspersed with oohs. ahhs and eehhs. Lousy dancing and stage presence. No real dialog with audience, except naming songs. The most boring concert I've ever attended.

OK for the 8-12 year old crowd

by TotallyUnimpressed on 9/2/12LA County Fair - Pomoma

She played 6-7 songs, 2 were her hits. No encores - lights came on to send everyone home and she raced off stage. I realize she's new and maybe doesn't have a lot of songs but she could have at least done an encore.. even if it was a cover of another band. It was a nice night, outdoors at the LA Fair - the screaming 8-12 year olds was kinda interesting, but showed who she truly has as her fan base. I didn't expect much from this concert... and not much is what I received. I didn't expect much when I saw All American Rejects - and thy gave me the "Wow" factor for the year. awesome band.
