Great comedy. Right on the money about all the politicians.
A first time visitor new to area I liked the venue, and the seating. Helpful staff at the ticket window. Very entertaining show. At times some problem with the echoing of sound making it hard to understand. Overall a great place and looking forward to visiting again.
Absolutely a can't-miss evening! They're a national treasure!
With a non partisan “if it rhymes it is worthy “ attitude towards the political news of the day this group just makes it work. Yes it is one of the cheaper tickets in DC, but it is worth every penny! Put seeing them on your to-do in DC list. You will not be disappointed.
The Reagan Building is the perfect venue! Right downtown. The theater is very nice, serving beer and wine as well. The show is FABULOUS! So fun! Great laughs! Mocking both sides.....all in good taste. A must see, whether you live here or are visiting. Go to Old Ebbitt's Grill, before or after the show, within blocks!
Great fun for foreign visitors who are fascinated with US politics and are well informed. Lots of laughs, and the odd groan!!!!
As always, hilarious, topical and vastly entertaining. Best entertainment values in the area.
Loved the show. The actors who do Trump and Obama relly looked and sounded like them. We laughed our way thru the whole show. A must see!
Enjoyable evening with lots of laughs! Definitely worth going to see!
Good show. It was clever, entertaining and enjoyable.
Absolutely a delight. They are not partisan and make fun of both Republicans and Democrats. The songs are so clever and right on point. Excellent performances.
The show was everything and more. It felt so good to laugh out loud and have such a great evening of the entertainment. The actors were so good....and playing several different parts throughout the show. Get tickets and be ready to laugh until your face hurts!!!
Everyone political is a satirical target! Really funny and witty. Will definitely be back!
My wife and I have been to several Capitol Steps shows through the years. This one on July 13 was really one of the best. The performers were inspired. The writing was as clever as always. The whole thing was hilarious. We really recommend it!!!
Great experience and cost saving, first time attending will definitely do it again very funny show just said as the reviews say it would be
This was my second experience with the Capitol Steps, sixteen years after the first, and one of the things I truly planned for it this trip to DC. As equal opportunity mockers, the Steps will pick on anyone and anything in politics so long as it rhymes, and they'll still try, even if it doesn't. The satire is often a little north of what I'd expect most minors to grasp, but then again, the show really is tailored to a more mature audience.
I have listened to the Capitol Steps several times on NPR for their July 4th performance. We were in DC for the holiday and discovered we could see them in person July 5th. Had a blast! A minimal cast of 5 people and one keyboard player and the world's worst wigs made a magical night. It was amazing how so little costuming and props could be so effective. Humor was incredibly up-to-date to include events of the previous night's activities of the July 4th celebrations on the National Mall. Loved that Democrats and Republicans had equal hits. No sides taken, no one safe! Seeing the performance was so much richer than the NPR radio version. Tickets were super reasonable. Go see it!
I take all my DC visitors to Capitol Steps as part of "the tour". I have seen the show 5 times in the past 8 weeks- largely the same show with some updates- and still love it. The voices are great, the personalities are fun, and the audience bonds over the love of politics and distain for you-know-who. Easy to get there, the wine and snacks are a nice aspect, and the seating is very comfortable. My only suggestion is improving the costuming a little. Stormy Daniels needed more "padding", and why was Pelosi presented as a blonde? Bottom line- fabulously funny. My guests and I actually had tears from laughter- no kidding.
Regardless of political persuasion, an uproariously fun evening!
We were in DC to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary and we are very politically active, so what better way to celebrate than to laugh at this terrible mess our country is in!!! When we get back home, we'll be back to the work of makeing this country a more equitable place for our children and grandchildren!! Thanks for helping us to laugh! (otherwise I'm usually terribly angry!)
