  • All 3 Bands Were Phenomenal

by kkupcake on 3/1/10Recher Theatre - TowsonRating: 5 out of 5

Morning Teleportaion- Rocked the hell out of this place and no one even knew who they were As Tall As Lions- Happy Birthday Dan! You guys were beyond awesome. Cage the Elephant- I heard you were great in concert, but actually witnessing it is quite an experience. If I could, I'd go to every single show they all play together. Not to mention. . . Recher Theatre was an awesome venue. I ripped posters off the wall FOR FREE.

  • cage the elephant+morning teleportation=amazing!

by Anonymous on 3/1/10Recher Theatre - TowsonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great. Cage the elephant are a big crowd pleaser. Morning teleportation and cage the elephant are the nicest musicians you will ever meet. Overall 2 bands you would want to see again and again.

  • Awesome

Had a great time! Cage sounded great, I think they sounded better live then their recordings! I would definitely go see them again!

  • Cage rocks!

    by LTV48 on 3/1/10Recher Theatre - TowsonRating: 5 out of 5

Cage the Elephant was excellent at the Recher Friday night. The singer is extremely energetic and sounds even better live than on CD. I'd defintiely recommend checking them out at a live show!

  • CTE keeps you bouncing!

by Pandomaniac on 3/1/10Recher Theatre - TowsonRating: 5 out of 5

The energy of the lead singer, Matt, Shultz, is contagious! You can't help but move when you're there, and it's always fun to see him jump into the crowd. I can't quite figure out how he can sing and breathe while bopping up and down so much. The rest of the band moves and jams energetically as well. The talk a bit and the music and vocals are clear and edgy sounding. We heard a few new songs that sound a little more punk than the last album...fun punk. The lyrics are interesting and story telling, which I appreciate. My sons are in a band and Matt stayed around after the show and gave them advice and told some fun stories of shananigans he's done to capture the audience. He's quite hyper on stage, but in person he's down to earth, inteligent and really enjoying his career and where it takes him. The music was great and I'd go see them again. If you go, be sure to bring comfortable shoes!

  • Cage the Elephant rocks!

    by JenF1283 on 3/1/10Recher Theatre - TowsonRating: 5 out of 5

I LOVED the show! Cage the Elephant really does rock. The opening bands weren't my cup of tea but it was well worth the wait. Awesome!

  • Awesome Night!

    by sullcon11 on 3/1/10Recher Theatre - TowsonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was awesome. It had a good location being directly next to Towson mall since i got there really early, and we decided to kill some time. The Recher is a really nice play and serves as a good venue. I could literally feel each beat rush through every part of my body. Morning Teleportation was an awesome band, and are now in my sights. Although, they need to get a website instead of some ghetto myspace and facebook music page. As Tall As Lions were awesome too. They had an awesome stage presence, and the lead singer had good vocals. Then everybody went insane for Cage the Elephant! They were awesome and were 10x's better in concert! Although,i only knew there songs Back Against the Wall, and Ain't No Rest For the Wicked. All in all they were all awesome bands, and was a good night for 15$.

  • Cage the Elephant - Excellent

    by LL04 on 3/1/10Recher Theatre - TowsonRating: 4 out of 5

They were excellent. The band right before them (Tall as Lions) were great too. The first band was Not worth listening to and I didn't pay attention to their name - just a bunch of screaming. The way the Recher is set up makes it extremely difficult to see the band on stage, unless you are fortunate enough to push your way close to stage and not get trampled. I was very impressed by Cage the Elephant and would definitely go to see them again.

  • See them now before they're huge

by LNRocks on 1/26/10El Rey - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

These guys caught me completely off guard with how great their show was. I'd listened only to the studio versions of their songs before the show. When they play them live--there's a whole new rawness. in a good way. Less Dust Brothers/Beck effects, more raw in your face. Didn't hurt that lead singer Matt dove into the pit, then stood up straight up while the crowd held him. These guys are young, but they got all the pieces to make a run to break it big. Catch them now.

  • Eh...

by EverJulia on 1/13/10Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

The opening bands were in my opinion, terrible. I didn't think their genres were in the same ballpark as Cage the Elephant's. Usually opening bands sound similar to the headliner but that was not the case. Too psychedelic and atempo for my liking. Additionally, the opening sets were WAY too long. Cage didn't go on until 2 hours after the first band started. They put on a decent show though the sound was a bit distorted and there was a lot of non-musical screaming. I guess in my old age I prefer acoustic sets, but I'd read such good reviews that I was expecting more.

the main act was up to opener standards; the others almost made us leave before we even saw them

  • Rivetting - Loved the Show

by Pomegranate on 11/25/09Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Show starts with THE SHACKELTONS who are more awesome everytime I see them. The energy and enthusiasm in the music is fantastic. Thank you for playing Bloke for me and everyone else, that is my favorite tune. MORNING TELEPORTATION, didn't know what to expect and I loved it, the outfits were great too. The crowd really got into it too. And CAGE THE ELEPHANT, what a performance! You guys are stellar, I haven't been to a concert in years and I'm certainly glad I made this one. You've got what it takes. I would go and see the show again in a heartbeat. Keep up the great music everyone and stop by PA some time.

  • Cage the Elephant was exciting to hear and watch.

by Oread on 11/23/09Beaumont Club - Kansas CityRating: 4 out of 5

While the two bands that opened the night need to improve, Cage the Elephant was great.. They played most if not all of their debut album, along with new material. Their muscianship was excellent and they are very visual in their performance. You can't take your eyes off Cage the Elephant because you don't know what they'll do next. It was obvious that they love what they are doing and like their audience and they involve them in their performance. A couple of times the lead singer jumped from the stage to be caught by the crowd. So, if you love great live music and lively performances, I would rercommend seeing Cage the Elephant. I know that I will be seeing them again whenever there is an opportunity to do so. Based on the comments that I overheard after the concert, I know that I am definitely not alone in my feelings about Cage the Elephant's performance.

Cage was pretty ridiculous live. Great energy, got the crowd going.

  • Cage The Elephant Was AMAZING

    by CRYSTAL87 on 11/22/09Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The show ROCKED!!!!! They have such great energy live. What was even cooler was them jumping into the crowd below and body surfing. The music is so fresh and alive. The guitar drums and vocals just sync together. I love listening to their music and it is even better watching them play live. I would so love to meet these boys from Kentucky!!! I can see these guys making it big and people playing their music for years to come. The Bands that opened for them : Morning Teleportation and The Shackletons also rocked, they really set the mood for Cage the Elephant. When these guys come back to Atlanta GA I will SO BE THERE!!!!!!!!!!!
