This group is just awesome!!! Everyone is the crowd was in a frenzy..the lead singer just commands it! He never stops moving, throws himself into the fans, climbs the walls.. Fanatical fans filling the stage...Dont miss them live while they are affordable cause they wont be later!

  • Awesome Show

by sunface17 on 11/6/09El Rey Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

These guys were great. Mic issue during "ain't no rest for the weary", but that wasn't their issue. What a talented bunch! The sky is the limit.

  • Worth the wait

by Devotchka on 11/5/09Cubby Bear - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Cage the Elephant has an awesome live presence. Definitely see them if you can. The two opening bands took an hour each, the second of which was mediocre at best; that's the only reason it's not a 5-star review.

  • not my kind of band

    by KAL2274 on 11/3/09Cubby Bear - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

The Cubby Bear is awesome but Cage the Elephant in general is not my style of music. They have a couple good songs but seem more like a one hit wonder kind of band to me. We left after their hit song.

  • cage the elephant is a must see

  • Cage the Elephant rocks hard.

by Fartzilla on 11/2/09Cubby Bear - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Opening band (the Rickters) were good. Second band was so f-ing bad i hope they all get cancer. Cage was on point! Great show and sound. Would see them even if they played in a bus station bathroom (which is about as clean as the Cubby Bear is).

  • Cage the Elephant @ Cubby Bear!

    by Nickname92677 on 11/1/09Cubby Bear - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Cage was amazing! They were high energy from the second they hit the stage. They played all of their radio songs and yet still managed to get in all the other good songs of their album as well. The killed it! Lead singer is hot and kept the crowd crazy! I recommend this show to anyone who enjoys good rock music. I'll see Cage in any town they play in that I'm in, that's for damn sure! This is a band you will be hearing a lot about in the coming years. Go see them and be able to say you saw them before they were selling out stadiums! Peace.

Cage The Elephant Cubby Bear October 30, 2009 People That Have Been Around Wrigleyville Know About The Parking Situation, That Is That You Have To Either Pay, Get Lucky, Or Walk About A Half-Mile Or More To Get To The Event. The Cubby Bear Venue Itself Was Not Really Made For Concerts. People Are Basically Right On Top Of One Another, The Stage Is Not Very Big, And At Times The Sound System Is Too Loud For The Place It Is In. Cage The Elephant Took The Stage Exploding With Energy. Their Energy Transferred Very Quickly To The Crowd, In Turn Pumping The Band Up Even More. Cage The Elephant Is Explosive And You Never Can Tell Exactly What They Are Going To Do. There Was Lots Of Crowd Surfing, Which Included Band Members, Moshing, And High Energy Jumping. This Was Definitely Not A Show For People That Are Claustrophobic. They Played Songs Off Their Most Recent Album Including "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked," "Back Against The Wall," "Tiny Little Robots," And Encored With "In One Ear." They Also Played Some New Songs. Overall It Was A Great Show. Cage The Elephant Needs Bigger Venues For Sure.

  • Awesome!

Saw Cage the Elephant last night at the Cubby Bear in Chicago. WOW!!! Kick A$$ performance!! Would definately see them again.

  • by Anonymous on 10/31/09Cubby Bear - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This show was wild. These guys brought so much power to their performance. You could tell everyone in the crowd could feel it. The lead singer is out of control. Their live performance was right on. Some bands can't play well live, but these guys did a great job. I was very impressed. One of the best shows I've been to in a long time. This was so worth it.

  • Cage the Elephant blew the house

    by JBIRD1268 on 10/31/09Cubby Bear - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

These guys rock. They brought back body surfing to the show.

  • Best show I'VE seen in years.

    by Noey311 on 10/31/09Cubby Bear - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The energy was absolutely palpable. I felt extremely lucky to have experienced this show and will never forget it. For the first time in a long time I felt I was watching something completely original, almost as though I was a part of something really special, and the energy released from the crowd gave off those same vibes. Truly amazing, will never miss Cage the Elephant when they come to Chicago!
