Cage rocked
by bubbles8 on 3/8/10Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 4 out of 5They came out and started playing hard. There was very little talking to the crowd they just played all of their songs, did some crowd surfing and did a few new songs. Good audience, they were totally into it but I was surprised how few of them even knew the band. They need to get more airplay or maybe not cause seeing them at small venues is awesome.

It was kind of annoying how little organization the concert hall had at the beginning, as nobody would tell us where to go and once a man did show up, he couldn't make up his mind where he wanted us to wait. Once we got in, though, it was an incredible show. Morning Teleportation opened, and I'd never heard of them but I'll definitely be listening for them from now on. They had a good sound and really enjoyed themselves. Following them was As Tall As Lions, who had a completely different sound but were just as impressive. The lead singer had an amazing voice, it sounded better than it did on iTunes. The crowd was getting crazier as the night wore on, and by the time Cage The Elephant took the stage it had reached a fever pitch. Luckily, Cage killed it. They were full of energy and really interactive with the crowd. Matt Shultz went crowd surfing 3 or 4 times, he even came back up with someone's hat! They let us all fill the stage for a song, and they were dancing and hugging everybody. Also the stage manager did a great job of ushering the more "adventurous" fans off the stage without killing the mood. One of the best shows I've been to.
CAGE!!!!!
by Needavowel on 3/5/10Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5Cage the Elephant is a pretty great band! I personally am not a huge fan of their album, but their live show was the best I've ever been too. It was energetic and fantastic. I want to see them again and again!!!!!
Cage = Crazy
by Jayme12 on 3/5/10Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 4 out of 5Great energy live. Lead singer is out of control in an awesome rock and roll sort of way. Stage diving galore!!
Still High
by DempserDoodle on 3/5/10Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5So It is 9:30 am ad I think I am still high off the energy of the Cage the elephant show last night. I had high expectations and knew that it would be a serious rock n roll show, but I did not anticipate to see the lead singer jump off the stage and crowd surf while continuing to bang his head and belt out the lyrics. The show was extremely high intensity that I had not scene in a stage performance in a long time. You could feel how strongly the fans were feeding off the vocalist while stand amongst a head thrashing, moshing crowd. The performance never hit a low and I was enthralled in it from start to finish. I also could not believe how they let anyone just jump on stage only to run and leap into the arms of fans. I highly recommend anyone to see them before they completely blow up....especially if you want your chance on stage!

Morning Teleportation killed it.. Cage the Elephant crushed it.. Great show, Great Venue..
As tall as lions weak, Cage the Elephant rock
by RockinBk on 3/5/10Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 4 out of 5Title says it all, Cage took the house, every song with a different flow - Lions was a lot better than the opener Morning Sunshine(?) who actually had a pretty good drummer and vocalist but was muffled by the horrible sound system (was it me or were other people noticing mic problems?) Cage just simply rocked, even though for half the songs the stupid crew at the Hall cut the mic off.

I really enjoyed As tall As lions performance, i mainly came to see them. They were great. Cage the elephant put on a great show they really interacted well with the crowd and clearly love their fans which i really enjoyed. The first band that opened was amazing they were put so well together and sounded amazing. I really liked that they played so many different instruments and it all came to well so nicely.
Elephants > Lions
by arobott on 3/4/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORKRating: 5 out of 5Cage the Elephant never ceases to amaze me. This was the second time I have seen them live, and it was great. The band has such an energy to them that radiates into the crowd. The lead singer, Matt, is out of his mind, but so passionate whilst he's singing. You can tell how genuine this band is, raw emotion, great talent. I'm surprised they are not more popular, though at this point I'm glad they aren't, quite yet. Bowery Ballroom was the perfect intimate venue to experience Cage the Elephant. Their live show is unlike any other I've experienced, so good! Morning Teleportation, the first opener, was awesome. I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed their set. They will get bigger. The second opener, As Tall As Lions, was unimpressive, bland.

Cage was great. You could really tell from the crowd the songs that are on their current album - The other bands were not so great.

cage the elephant was no other way 2 say it but AMAZING! so much energy!!
yes please
by Anonymous on 3/3/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORKRating: 5 out of 5This was one of the best shows I've been too, Cage the Elephant is amazing live, and one of the opening bands, Morning Teleportation, was crazy good.
Cage The Elephant Rocked
by CoolArrow on 3/3/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORKRating: 5 out of 5The show was electric from the start. The band amped up the crowd who by the end didn't want it to be over.
Epic Cage concert
by dcgeek on 3/3/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORKRating: 5 out of 5Best live show ever!! Forget the hits we know, they rocked every song played hearts out til the end. even got a lil bluesy. Climaxed when Matt Shultz dives in then standin on our hands held by his ankles he looks out and took the mic and rocked us
- by Anonymous on 3/3/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORKRating: 4 out of 5
Good show, great energy. Their hits are more alt rock while their other stuff is pretty heavy. There was a "friendlier" mosh.
Cage were an anti-climax. Very Dissapointed.
by Smythy on 3/3/10Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORKRating: 1 out of 5Their debut album is a strong as Youth & Young Manhood by Kings of Leon in my opinion and they honestly remind me of a young Chili Peppers (in the days of Freaky Styly, Uplift Mofo Party Plan and Mother's Milk), primarily due to the passion they have for music and playing it and putting their heart into it (despite the slight difference in genre). However, at Bowery Ballroom last night, their energy was channeled in the wrong way. The sound was not good, half the set list was either new songs or covers that I didn't recognize and frankly, the support band that played before them and I hadn't heard of before had a fuller, tighter sound that filled the room and left me wanting to see them again. A few crowd surfing episodes is not enough to secure this fans desire to go to another show until the word is that there's a marked improvement (Although I have tickets for MHOW and with the quality of their album, I really feel I can't pass up the opportunity to see them to redeem themselves....) Cheers!
There are no words.
by DrLiam on 3/2/10Recher Theatre - TowsonRating: 5 out of 5After waiting for so long, Morning Teleportation came on stage and absolutely brought the house down. They were a tough act to follow for sure. The originality in their music was incredible and I can't wait for an album. As Tall As Lions was next and they were almost as fun to watch as MT, especially with the bassist going half insane the whole time. That whole band had immense talent. Also, the minor technical issues were comical. And then Cage The Elephant. That's the only description needed. Cage The Elephant. They're reputation precedes them and they hold to it. Absolutely wonderful show.
cage the elephant put on a good show
by erica1622 on 3/2/10Recher Theatre - TowsonRating: 4 out of 5The Recher was crowded and my boyfriend and I were a little sick - but the show itself rocked. I liked the songs played and the band had an awesome energy throughout the night.
Cage the Elephant
by hisi on 3/2/10Recher Theatre - TowsonRating: 5 out of 5Enjoyed the show the band was really good. I took my neices and they really enjoyed themselves. Recher is a good place to see up and coming bands. Drinks are reasonable and in these times that helps when you're trying to have a fun nite.
