    The Festival

by Hurrikanekat on 2/28/11Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

The Festival was the bomb as usual. Great music, wonderful venue, good staff and really cool people working there. Even though Im from SF my heart belongs to the O-Town now. We get the best shows out there and there is less traffic getting in n out that in the City.

RaggaMuffins not so much a festival anymore...

by Anonymous on 2/28/11Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

The show itself was great - but it was a multi-artist concert, not a festival, in my opinion. Balcony seat tickets were restricted to that seating area and could not get down into general admission. The Fox theater, however, is BEAUTIFUL and we did have an excellent time.

Ive been to this music festival for three years now, and each year it keeps getting better. The Fox in Oakland is the best venue! Just make sure to get general admission so you are on the floor by the bars and not in seats upstairs!

What a beautiful place! I loved the atmosphere. The music was really good too. There was a few sound problems, but the engineers were good enough to fix it. Live sound is always a challenge. Gentleman and I-Vibe gave some really good energy and I got to see a bunch of friends there too!

    Dubfest Review

by Caity1111 on 9/8/09Hollywood ArtsPark at Young Circle - Hollywood

I enjoyed Dubfest, however I am not sure it was worth the $40 ticket price. I feel $25 dollars total would be about right. Badfish and Authority Zero were both great bands; I would have preferred them to play a little later. It was nice to have 2 stages so there was always music playing. Lots of good food and bathrooms. The Jeremiah Weed Vodka drinks were good. The rain was a bummer. I also enjoyed Goldfinger and B-Liminal. I left a little early before Bunny but I am sure he was good too. I will go back next year if they lower ticket price a bit. :)

    Good show!

by Dlovesthebeach on 9/8/09Hollywood ArtsPark at Young Circle - Hollywood

Fun show, good bands, cool layout- liked the 2 stages, keeps ya moving and allows you to see all bands with very little overlap. Too bad it rained but it was still fun times!

    Amazing Show!

by 000000000 on 9/8/09Hollywood ArtsPark at Young Circle - Hollywood

DubFest was an amazing event. I only wish shows like that came around more often. All the bands were jam bands, music was great and continous with two stages. Bad Fish sounded great as usual! They are the closest we can come to seeing Sublime these days. Reel Big Fish was out of this world.... I still dont have a voice because of this show. I hope Reel Big Fish makes it this far South again real soon!

by ebet on 9/7/09Hollywood ArtsPark at Young Circle - Hollywood

DubFest was a great experience! i enjoyed it so much. going with friends makes it fun, but along the way you meet some pretty cool people. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. Reel Big Fish, Ballyhoo!, and Goldfinger were AH-MAZING!!! if you love ska and reggae music, totally go!!!

    Damp Dubfest

by FullTaco on 9/6/09Hollywood ArtsPark at Young Circle - Hollywood

Dubfest was a lot of fun despite the rain. Favorite act was Badfish. Didn't stay until the end because of the damp clothes. A lttle more shelter would have been nice or someone selling ponchos. I think $40 was a little too much for tickets in that area. The $25 presale price is more appropriate with even cheaper presale specials would have brought a bigger crowd.

    AWESOME SHOW!

by mcscruff103 on 9/6/09Hollywood ArtsPark at Young Circle - Hollywood

The ska was awesome, the venue was unforgettable (the playground was a nice touch), and the reggae and dub was incredible. I'd recommend this show to anyone who likes reggae, dub, or ska. Quite possibly the best show I've ever been to, with better good music and a really chill attitude overall. Like Warped Tour, without the emo.
