    Not his best

    by ksimmo on 7/15/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

I've had the opportunity to see Bruce Hornsby a number of times in the past few years, and this was not his best. It was a solo show, based mainly on requests. The performance was solid, but I think the venue was distracting to Bruce as it was for the audience. He made a lot of jokes about people up and leaving in the middle of the show, and how bored he thought we all were, which was unfortunate. It was not a real high-energy show, for sure, but he's still an amazing talent. We did not care at all for the venue. Thought we'd give it a shot, since we'd never been. The seats were uncomfortable and too close together, and the rows are straight and on the same level. We were in the 2nd row, but to the far right of center stage. We both had sore necks from having to watch the whole show with our heads cranked over to the left, and the seats are so crammed together, you could not comfortably turn your body in your seat. Needless to say, we don't plan to go back to this venue again. We will go see Bruce Hornsby again! He's so talented and has such a great personality. We will see him again where his talent is appreciated and people aren't distracted by the casino, and definitely when he plays with a band again.

    Sweet!

    by artfav on 7/15/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Bruce Hornsby is a sweet man. His personality comes out not only through his music but also the way he interacts with his audience. It was like having him in our living room. I will definitely catch his next show in the northwest.

    Bruce Was Amazing as always!

    by Riley357 on 7/15/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Bruce put on a great show as always. Front row seats for the first time really provided an opportunity to watch those spider fingers at work and it is amazing! The venue was comfortable and I would highly recommend seeing Bruce there again and will probably go see other shows there as well.

Bruce Hornsby intimate at Snoqualmie Casino

    by ElJay on 7/15/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Bruce Hornsby as always put on a great show, just him and his piano. He's famous for taking suggestions which people leave on the stage before the show starts. And he plays anything from classical music, Grateful Dead tunes and famous pieces of his from the past. The atmosphere was really intimate at the Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom. The front row was a mere 2 feet from the stage and the seating bright enough that Bruce could see and interact with the audience throughout the show. And the seating was very comfortable, better than I expected from folding style chairs.

    Bruce still gets it right

    by neighbor on 7/14/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

I was a little concerned seeing Bruce Hornsby without his band- but his personality really shined, piano playing was superb and his voice sounded better than usual. It was a very pleasant evening. I've seen him several times and this time was the best.

    Bruce was fantastic!

    by keithsgirl on 7/14/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

The show was great. My friend and I really enjoyed that Bruce didn't stick to a set playlist. If a request was submitted, he tried to fit it in. The music was excellent. However, we did not appreciate so many people getting up and down throughout the entire show. Our view was blocked many times by audience members walking back and forth in front of us to go to the bar.

    solid but a bit odd

    by alaskafan on 7/14/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

I'm a big Bruce Hornsby fan. I travelled from Alaska to see him in concert. I was not disappointed. As a man who took many piano lessons as a boy, I realize what a talent he is. As I watched him play, I felt as if he was assaulting the piano. He plays with such force and uses his entire body to keep time. Simply stated, he's an incredible piano player. After listening to his music for years, I expected a more accomplished, confident man. His demeanor on stage, between songs, was a bit odd. I'd almost call him a nerd. That's not at all what I expected. This concert would have rated a five if Hornsby had brought a band with him and if he wasn't such an unusual character. There's no doubt, however, about his talent!

    Great artist...bad venue

    by Wilber on 7/14/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Bruce is *always* great to see live. I prefer seeing him perform alone so I was really looking forward to this show. Unfortunately, the way the show was set up didn't seem very well planned. The ballroom was a big, flat room. There are bars set up just outside the ballroom, so people are constantly walking back and forth to get drinks. I know this effected Bruce's concentration and general attitude. He even mentioned it a couple of times. He'd see people walking out and assume they were leaving. It's just not a good way to get the best performance from an artist. Also, the show was very short...probably 90 minutes. If you go to this venue, I recommend getting seats as close to the front as possible. That way you won't have to deal with all the people walking through your field of view. We saw Bruce at the Moore in downtown Seattle a couple of years ago, and that show was beautiful! I would have given that one a five-star rating. Bottom line is that Bruce Hornsby's an amazing artist, but he needs to play in a more serious venue.

    Bruce Hornsby- WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    by choirmombrucefan on 7/14/09Snoqualmie Casino-Ballroom - Snoqualmie

Bruce Hornsby is so genuine. Genuine talent, genuine personality, very comfortable on stage, as if you are in his living room, and he is playing your favorite songs and loving every minute of it. He has a geunine sense of humor, genuine compassion, and a genuine passion for music that fills the room. I left the concert wanting more! More of his music, more of his chatting, more of BRUCE!!!! I gave him a request with a sketch of him I drew while he was playing and he commented on it as I walked away from the stage. That was so sweet of him and gave me a personal taste of his amazing personality. Thank you Bruce for an energizing evening that still gives me joy!!!
