After a brief delay at the door while employees of the Birchmere worked out a computer glitch, the evening in my estimation was a total success. Long time fan of Bruce Cockburn, and his playing and singing, along with the pristine accompaniment by his nephew, were high caliber and top notch. While Cockburn did not provide what many might consider many of his “hits”, most notably “If I Had A Rocket Launcher”, he explained that now was not the time for that song in the context of current events, and I think a lot of attendees appreciated that position. His selections featured new and older compositions, reflecting a long and diverse career. A fine evening with an accomplished artist at the height of his powers.
