Great for a long time fan and Dar Williams was a bonus

by Johnny T on 6/5/23The Cabot - Beverly

I saw Bruce fairly recently at a small venue in Fall River and was surprised he was touring again, but was happy to have a chance to see him again. My wife who wasn't as familiar with his music enjoyed it too and we both really liked Dar Williams, a great complement to his music. The only piece of the evening that was a drawback for me was that the crowd was kind of rude and kept requesting songs that he no longer plays. I wish he could feel more of the love his fans have for him. But overall a great evening.

    Good performance, bad overall experience

by Kev on 6/5/23The Cabot - Beverly

Loved hearing Bruce mixing new and old songs. Would have sounded better to me if 1 or 2 musicians had backed him. Dar Williams opened, played her most popular songs, was engaging and a good choice to open. The whole concert was compromused for me at least, by the hall's seating. Seating is integral to the concert experience. The seats at this venue have been restructured to have less room than a coach seat in a typical airplane. If you are under 5 ft tall, you might be ok, and not have to twist your legs to fit the seats. Otherwise, avoid this venue - the Cabot Cinema in Beverly MA - and catch these artist at other venues.

    Excellent performance

by Junior on 6/5/23The Cabot - Beverly

I wish that Ticketmaster would loosen it's grip as a monopoly in selling tickets. It put the sale of tickets well beyond the reach of most people.

    Exceptionally Enjoyable

    by R. D. on 2/24/23Avalon Theatre - Grand Junction

Bruce is an accomplished solo musician! I enjoy his subtle but to the point on environmental and political issues. Thanks for an enjoyable evening!

    Great show but...

by Tulip on 2/23/23Avalon Theatre - Grand Junction

5+++++ Stars for Bruce Cockburn. His mix of music, story telling and audience interaction was superb. 1 star for the Avalon - There were two loud, chatty persons sitting behind us, a problem that the ushers sort of addressed at intermission by moving these persons a bit further away (they continued to chat during the performance).

    Depressed

by BC on 2/22/23Avalon Theatre - Grand Junction

Absolutely terrible, left at intermission. The most depressing lyrics I have ever heard. Guitar playing was pretty good.

    Great concert, great venue

by Carl on 2/22/23Avalon Theatre - Grand Junction

Bruce of course was great. Props to Avalon Theater -- clean, spacious, great experience. As a comparison point, maybe not as much "character" as the Boulder Theater, but nonetheless . . . slightly smaller and much cleaner, and clearly not a bad seat in the place (and we'd managed to find one of the few bad seats in Boulder last time we saw Bruce :)). Looking forward to the next show there.

    Great Show!

    by Pa$Qual57-263 on 2/20/23Liberty Hall - Lawrence

Liberty Hall is a small, intimate venue in downtown Lawrence, KS. Parking is convenient (& free!) with many eateries within walking distance. While not the most up-to-date venue I've been in, the sound was above average and all site lines were unobstructed. I was a bit concerned when Bruce hobbled on stage (he walks with a staff now), I discovered that I needn't be...the show was outstanding. His guitar virtuosity is still outstanding and his voice hasn't lost a thing (even on the high notes). Who would have thought a man of his age would still be doing shows lasting almost 3 hours?! While there were some songs I wish would have been included (Peggy's Kitchen Wall, If I Had a Rocker Launcher) it was a nice representation of his body of work. He performed a few songs from his upcoming LP and, in my opinion, they were some of the best he has done in years - and that is saying a lot. I walked away not regretting the 6 hour drive to get there...the show was that good!

    Cockburn Great

by Eagle in Name on 2/20/23Liberty Hall - Lawrence

We really enjoyed the personal, historical, wonderful show which Bruce Cockburn performed at Liberty Hall in Lawrence. I was impressed with the voice he can still use to captivate your ears. While he gets on/off stage a little slower with age, his dang fingers are still adept and capturing the little intricacies of his written music. All in all, well worth the cost, the evening, and the drive from Kansas City!

Bruce Cockburn Feb 15 Liberty Hall, Lawrence, Ks

    by w84gdo on 2/19/23Liberty Hall - Lawrence

Mr. Cockburn, walking the high wire of 50 years of songwriting and performance, delivered. Liberty Hall remains an intimate, gem for live music. And — and here I confess my own latent biases, in spite of 3-time flawless experience — Ticketmaster made ticket acquisition simple, with narry a hitch. My own unease as to whether my “e-ticket” would be there is, again, MY personal issue. hopefully it will abate as I use e-ticketing in the future. Thanks Bruce, Liberty Hall & Ticketmaster for an enjoyable evening of live music.

    Stellar Performance

by Boidah on 2/18/23Liberty Hall - Lawrence

Bruce gave us a wonderful show with songs both old and new -- so new, they're from the forthcoming May album release. The audio in Liberty Hall was perfection, but the seats leave a lot to be desired.

    He's still got it

by zeditor on 2/18/23Liberty Hall - Lawrence

I hadn't heard Bruce live since 1997. His solo show at Liberty Hall was everything I'd hoped for.

So good. One of the best writers and guitarists. Ans story tellers. And the sound is so clear. Don't miss him....

    52 years later

by Bill on 2/13/23Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

I saw Bruce Cockburn in 1971 at what I think was his first solo show in Winnipeg. Centennial Concert Hall. I still remember how shy he looked as he walked on to the stage. 52 years later, his catalogue of songs is so large that he cannot possibly do all my favourites. His guitar playing is still unbelievable. His voice has held up remarkably well. The only disappointment was that the concert did not last a few more hours to fit in all of my favourites. I feel blessed to have been able to see him again.

    Still a troubadour

by Rick on 2/7/23The Centre in Vancouver - Vancouver

He comes out on stage alone and looking very old . His voice is good . Different but good . Can still hit and hold the notes . He still knows how to play the guitar . The sings are great and his delivery is as well . I like that he doesn’t have an opening act . I thought the break was a drag but the show lasted 2 1/2 hours , so…

    Bruce at his best!

by Lu on 2/7/23Rialto Theater - Tacoma

Bruce Cockburn has been performing for about 50 years. He’s written an amazing selection of songs that will be enjoyed into eternity. Bruce is an incredible guitarist. When added to his voice and lyrics, few if any musicians can top him. Bruce is one of a kind.

    Lukewarm

by SWC on 2/4/23Rialto Theater - Tacoma

I wanted to see this legend to make sure I didn't miss the experience. Of course, I wish I had done this a couple of decades earlier in his career, but he still knows how to put out good songs. He turned down a request saying 'the fingers don't do that anymore' so we missed the magic guitar playing of his earlier years. Too bad for me, but the longtime fans in the audience seemed pleased.
