    Thoroughly Hilarious and Brilliant

Posehn is one of the funniest American comics of the last 15 years. Notwithstanding all of the incredible television he has given us, it can be easy to forget how original and distinctive his stand-up can be. It is so refreshing to see such a genious comedian who doesn't succumb to conceit. Despite his sometimes-edgy material, it is impossible for him to conceal what a truly nice guy he is. Do yourself a favor and don't miss the opportunity to catch him in his solo act before he gets re-immersed in another ground-breaking project.

He was hilarious!!! We got there late however we really enjoyed his set. It wasn't nearly as crowded as I thought. I liked the tables and searing arrangements.

If not for getting free tix from Ticketmaster I would be more unhappy with the event. All of the performers delivered unenthusiastic weak sets. The host was the worst moments of the night. Trying to find the joke in the similarity of "Piscataway" and "Parrsipany" for 10 minutes was painful. I walked away thinking "comedy must be much harder than I thought to see these guys struggle for 2hrs.

    Great gig

Fun time, low-key, and the tix were free. MC left something to be desired, but that's not a big deal. Headliner killed.

Starland Ballroom is not a comedy club

by Frogacuda on 10/2/11Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Alright, first, let's be clear: Brian Posehn delivered a good show on par with what fans have come to expect, with a lot of new material. No complaints there. Unfortunately, the venue booked the opening acts, who they seem to regularly use as openers. The comic in the MC/host spot, a pudgy guy named John (I'd love to give his full name, but I didn't catch it) who forced the audience to sit through a 20 minute set of obvious jokes on easy targets like The Jersey Shore delivered with faux anger and a bad Lewis Black Cadence, only to reprise his performance again between the featured act and headliner. The show would have been infinitely better with a cold open, or better yet a real comic. Even a band might have been better, given the venue and Posehn's connection to metal fans. Starland's not really set up to be a comedy club either. Tables were set up for those in the lower area, but the rest was standing room, which is not a great environment for comedy. I enjoyed Brian's set, but I'd rather see him at The State Theater or a comedy club like The Stress Factory.

I hadn't seen Brian's act before, but I had seen him in TV and movies. But his standup was great! I was laughing constantly. I really enjoyed the whole set.

    Brian needs new material

by maniamania on 2/18/11Wow Hall - Eugene

I saw Brian perform in 2007 at a music fest and thought is was the funniest act I'd seen in some time, so I was stoked to see he was coming to town. I was MAJORLY disappointed with his act this time around though. It was nearly the same as it was almost 4 years ago, and I was able to complete his jokes for him to my friends....He's not worth seeing more than once in your life, but certainly worth seeing that one time. Overall he's a funny dude, but needs to come up with a fresh act.

A comedy night of Brian Posehn is never a disappointment. I have seen him twice now, and both times I was laughing non-stop. Hilarious jokes, great voices, and overall a fantastic time.

    Brian Posehn's hilarious brojob stories!

by bulltrue on 5/15/10McMenamins Mission Theater - Portland

Brian Posehn completely brought the HILARITY to Portland last night at The Mission Theatre! I laughed so hard that I couldn't hear myself anymore and I had tears in my eyes! I've seen Mr. Posehn on so many shows throughout the years but have never had the pleasure of seeing his stand-up act in person. It was WELL worth it, fo sho! He talks about having a "rapey" face but all I see is pure comic genius...and a little Beaker from The Muppet Show ( in a good way) of course! This guy makes you wish he was your best friend and from what he claims you just might be able to make that happen if you offer to smoke him out after the show! As an added bonus, the opening comics were funny too. The pizza slices were too small to charge $4.75 or whatever ridiculous pride they were but it was a small price to pay for a couple of hours of shameless laughter!
