About

R&B singer, songwriter and producer Brian McKnight released his 13th studio album, More Than Words, in 2013, and he followed it up with a theater tour that had fans grabbing tickets for concerts throughout the US. The Buffalo, NY native, who began singing in a church choir, has been a mainstay on the urban contemporary scene since he released his self-titled debut album in 1992, at the tender age of 19. His arresting falsetto and smooth style were an immediate hit with R&B and pop listeners, who made "One Last Cry" the singer's first Top 20 single. McKnight's best-known songs followed in the '90s, including "Love Is" (a duet with Vanessa Williams), "Back at One," and "You Should Be Mine (Don't Waste Your Time)" featuring Mase. Though he hasn't yet taken home a trophy, McKnight -- who can play nine musical instruments -- has earned 16 Grammy nominations over the course of his career. He's also sold more than 20 million albums worldwide.

Brian Mcnight was a little boring

    by randal123 on 2/15/10Neal S Blaisdell Arena - Honolulu

We did not go to hear his kids and they performed for a while. Brian was a little pretenious and made some songs long and drawn out. I wanted to hear songs without all the breaks in the middle. He sounded great though. What a voice!

Opening acts took too long compared with Brian's performance. Didn't sing many of his #1 songs. "Proposal" seemed fake.

    2 Long of a wait...over killed!

by iloveaflati on 2/15/10Neal S Blaisdell Arena - Honolulu

After 1.5hrs of opening acts and stage prep Brian McKnight finally appeared. The problem with his show is that I believe he over-killed his own songs. He toyed with his voice way too much! There was too much talking, acting, funny faces and very awkward games he did with his voice. I've been a big fan of McKnight for mannnnnnny years. This concert. I have to say was a disappointment. :( He has such a naturally amazing voice, and I left the concert really confused as to why he didn't stick to singing his own songs well.

Excellent concert, BM was entertaining and funny. His sons played at the concert and were very good, they sound just like their dad. It was lots of fun and we are glad we went.

Brian mcknight dinner was a rip off!!!!!

by Meeeyuh on 2/15/10 Blaisdell Hawaii Suites - Honolulu

ok so.... they called it a Brian mcknight dinner.... Brian mcknight wasn't even gonna be there. they didn't even open the doors on time. the food was a 4 from a scale 1-10. their iced tea was soooooooo gross! we had to pay for our drinks. it was valentines day, some ppl had tables with more than two chairs... luckly we got the table set for 2... that's probably the only good thing. did I mention they were selling their center pieces with only two red roses in it for $25! that dinner was so not worth it!

    Brian Mcknight Loses a Fan

by slim25 on 10/28/09Hiro Ballroom - New York

This event was a big disappointment. First off he comes on stage for about 15 minutes and sings nothing. No preview of new tracks. Then dj starts playing some old songs of Brian. Then he spends the rest of the night in VIP. I actual got to meet and get a pic with him. Brian was real arrogant. He has lost a fan in me. Message to Brian Mcknight remember that your fans put you where you are at.

    Brian McKnight was excellent

by Denise1205 on 10/27/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

This was my 2nd year seeing him and I would see him year after year. He is such a talented muscian. His show is long and he does a lot of the singing. Most artist today use a lot of filler activity in their shows so they don't have to sing/perform as long. Brian is high quality. It's great that he brings his sons along to perform. It's so important for young black males to have positive role models and outlets for their talent. This shows a tender side of Brian which only adds to his persona. He is genuine and a wonderfully talented artist/musician. I would definitely recommend his show to anyone.

    A Waste!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by AVjack on 10/27/09Hiro Ballroom - New York

I am really disappointed that I waisted my time attending this event. I could have went home and been with my family and not be tired and groggy now at work from wasting my time and money on such nonsence! The show starting time as stated on my ticket stub said 7:30 pm. Mr. McKnight didn't show up til 9:17 pm and didn't hum not one tune. They played songs from his album and he goes over to the rsvp section and begins posing for pics and signing autographs. I could have listened to snippetts on itunes!!! Really was dissapointed and will never attend such an event again!!!!

    McNight was magnificent

by Anonymous on 10/20/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

Brian McNight and his two sons were amazing. I will go again when he comes back to town, however, the event was disrupted by the loud base from Casino music echoing over Brian's music. Emerald Queen needs to do a better job of managing this so their concerts are not impacted negatively.

    Brian McKnight...

by agent6336 on 10/19/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

This was by far the best concert my wife and I have ever been to! He's been performing for well over a decade and is still a phenomenal showman. Even if you've never heard him sing or you're not a huge R&B fan, you should go to see him live if the opportunity presents itself, as he will surely never disappoint. He gives so much of himself to the crowd during his show and his love for performing for others shines through. Top-notch performance from an extraordinary artist, who now has his sons performing with him... Worth way more than what you'll pay to see him, and definitely recommended for couples.

    B Mcknight Concert

by Wintr on 10/19/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

show was really good. He was very entertaining, even pulled out a few jokes. He sang a majority of his old stuff. The man can sing though, very few people can sing like he can - gave me some goose bumps. His sons are artists trying to make it in the industry and he brought them to on tour. They are talented!

Brian McKnight was a let down

by Anonymous on 10/18/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

The show was really slow. I wanted Brian to quit doing all of his jokes and runs and just sing. For a guy who has 13 albums he sang maybe 12 songs. His base player was great, I wish that Brian would have introduced his band and let them do a solo. I think every band that I have seen has always at least given their band the credit they deserve. It really made me walk away from the show thinking that Brian is very arrigant. Even said though he is still a great artist, I just would want to ever see him in concert.
