About

R&B singer, songwriter and producer Brian McKnight released his 13th studio album, More Than Words, in 2013, and he followed it up with a theater tour that had fans grabbing tickets for concerts throughout the US. The Buffalo, NY native, who began singing in a church choir, has been a mainstay on the urban contemporary scene since he released his self-titled debut album in 1992, at the tender age of 19. His arresting falsetto and smooth style were an immediate hit with R&B and pop listeners, who made "One Last Cry" the singer's first Top 20 single. McKnight's best-known songs followed in the '90s, including "Love Is" (a duet with Vanessa Williams), "Back at One," and "You Should Be Mine (Don't Waste Your Time)" featuring Mase. Though he hasn't yet taken home a trophy, McKnight -- who can play nine musical instruments -- has earned 16 Grammy nominations over the course of his career. He's also sold more than 20 million albums worldwide.

Brian McKnight - a TRUE superstar!

What a memorable concert! To say that Brian McKnight is talented is a major understatement! I have always loved his music, his talent, and his passion for his music but to see him on-stage is something that you HAVE to see if you're a hard-core fan like I am! He is truly a musical genius and I am truly BLESSED to have been able to be a part of a spectacular event! Brian McKnight ROCKS and will always have my heart!

    Brian McKnight in Honolulu

by BabyBoomerHusband on 2/17/10Neal S Blaisdell Arena - Honolulu

Even though the ticket said 7:30 pm, Mr. McKnight did not actually come on stage to perform until after 9:00 pm. We finally had to leave around 11:00 pm since I had to get up the next morning for an event around 5:30 am on Monday. I thought it was almost a gimmick that he proposed to his girlfriend on stage, but I guess it wasn't bogus. I also liked the stage decorations with all the super huge arrangements of red roses. I was wondering if he was going to either donate the flowers or bring it to his hotel suite. I also enjoyed the center video screen and two large screens on each side of the stage. Earth Wind & Fire didn't have the large video screens so it was hard to see them from the balcony seats. Tom Moffat productions did not have two opening acts to start before Gwen Stefani or Ne-Yo. It was painful to sit through TWO really bad opening acts. If I knew that then I wouldn't have rushed through our romantic Valentine's Day dinner.

    Cupid's got nothing on Brian

by Kraxiot on 2/17/10Neal S Blaisdell Arena - Honolulu

Promoters couldn't have chosen anyone better than Brian McKnight to send the message of love on Valentine's Day... It was an enchanted evening shared with my new love. One song missing that I wish he would've sang was "Still", which is one of our favorites... All and all an amaZing night...

    Brian McKnight was amazing!!!

    by yzgirl96734 on 2/17/10Neal S Blaisdell Arena - Honolulu

It was a night that I will never forget. I was very grateful to have gone and I wouldn't have wanted to change that evening for anything else. It was one of the most memorable valentine's day's I've had and I would go to another concert if he came back to Hawaii again in a heartbeat.

    Great Performance

by Bellagoia on 2/16/10Neal S Blaisdell Arena - Honolulu

The entire evening event was great! From the two opening local groups to Brian himself. I loved that he propsed to his fiancee on stage. His sons were fabulous too, can't wait for their release as I'll definitely but it.

    Loooong wait was worth it

    by LL96816 on 2/16/10Neal S Blaisdell Arena - Honolulu

there was a really long wait before bknight got onto the stage. the 1st opening act was good but the second was annoying. bknight was fabulous and worth the looong wait although we didn't expect to get out of a concert that began at 7:30 after 11. Bknight singing with his sons was beautiful but his sons doing their solo performance was kind of out of genre from what we came to see. Overall, Bknight is a great performer & I would recc. him to friends but would also prepare them for a very LOOOOONG wait!

Great concert to spend with your partner

    by Jax68 on 2/16/10Neal S Blaisdell Arena - Honolulu

Best concert I've been to with my fiance. Although I wished the performing acts would've been cut short to allow more performing time for Brian, it still was indeed a great concert to attend. We both had a great time and you could honestly see and feel the love with all the other couples in the arena.

    Brian Mcknight & Sons

That concert that I seen on Valentines Day, was off the chain. It was truely terrific, and I would go and watch them all over again.

    Too short

    by focused808 on 2/16/10Neal S Blaisdell Arena - Honolulu

Brian is an incredible performer and his voice did not dissapoint. He is very personable with the crowd and reminded us of Jamie Foxx with how he interacts with the crowd. Our only complaint was that we thought he would perform a bit longer. He performed for less than an hour even though the concert was three hours. There were two warmup acts and one of them did not even match a Valentine's Day theme. His sons performed a few songs and though very talented, we came to see Brian. Overall though, you can't pass up a chance to see him sing live.

    His voice unbelievable!

by Mayette on 2/16/10Neal S Blaisdell Arena - Honolulu

His proposal to his girlfriend was sooo romantic and very timely for valentine's day. The performance of his two sons was an awesome surprise. My 2nd time to watch Brian Mcknight performed live...... and I love him so much more!!! I do love his songs..... He is an incredible talent!!! Although i understand he has another performance at Pikake lounge priro to this, the waiting was worth it. Although i would prefer if he came on time, like at least 8:00pm.

Brian McKnight's performance was amazing last night. He performed his hits that everyone knows and loves. He introduced us to his talented sons. And reminded us that it was Valentine's by proposing live on stage. Well worth it and highly recommended, he's a great performer.

He is still an awesome performer with a voice of gold. One of the only artist to sound live as he does on his CD's.

    McKnight made the night!

by LuvRnBMusic on 2/15/10Neal S Blaisdell Arena - Honolulu

An absolutely, amazing concert, this man is truly talented and was so entertaining. We were honored to be witness to his proposal to his girlfriend, I don't think there was a dry eye in the arena. The whole night of his sweet, melodic voice made this an amazing Valentine's Day gift to the crowd. Bravo, Brian! Come back to Honolulu again!!!!

He is a man of incredible talent.... whose voice resonates throughout the concert hall! His numerous attempts to interact with the audience was very well done. The only down side? He did not come on stage til almost 9:30... 2 whole hours after the start of the concert.

Brian McKnight is a great performer

    by Cowbear808 on 2/15/10Neal S Blaisdell Arena - Honolulu

Brian McKnight put on a great show and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment he was on stage. However, that was the problem. The show was scheduled to start at 7:30pm. B. McKnight didn't take the stage until 9:15pm. There were 2 opening acts which weren't bad, but there was way too much downtime between acts.

Brian McKnight is an incredible live performer!

    by charis286 on 2/15/10Neal S Blaisdell Arena - Honolulu

He is an amazing singer and performer. Also, very sexy! I loved that he included his sons to perform a couple of songs, as well as sharing with his fans his love for his girlfirend and proposed to her on stage! I didn't like the opening acts performing as long as they did. I would have much rather had Brian McKnight start sooner than he did and sing more of his older songs. Otherwise, I would have given his concert 5 stars.
