About

R&B singer, songwriter and producer Brian McKnight released his 13th studio album, More Than Words, in 2013, and he followed it up with a theater tour that had fans grabbing tickets for concerts throughout the US. The Buffalo, NY native, who began singing in a church choir, has been a mainstay on the urban contemporary scene since he released his self-titled debut album in 1992, at the tender age of 19. His arresting falsetto and smooth style were an immediate hit with R&B and pop listeners, who made "One Last Cry" the singer's first Top 20 single. McKnight's best-known songs followed in the '90s, including "Love Is" (a duet with Vanessa Williams), "Back at One," and "You Should Be Mine (Don't Waste Your Time)" featuring Mase. Though he hasn't yet taken home a trophy, McKnight -- who can play nine musical instruments -- has earned 16 Grammy nominations over the course of his career. He's also sold more than 20 million albums worldwide.

    Not what I remember

by dinas on 10/18/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

I saw Brian Mcknight about 7 years ago when he was in Seattle with Tyrese was his opening act. Brian put on a great show that night last night it was memorable. I was expecting the same type of show with new songs but all he was out doing was promoting his new talk show on Saturday nights at 10pm and his kids act. I don't think I paid to see his kids or to get told to see a talk show but I guess I was wrong. He did not perform with a lot of musical instruments this time as well he was just showing off his vocal skills again and again. I get it your voice will do what you want when you want. Sometimes its good to just do at least one song they way you put it on the album. What do I know I just pay to watch I don't perform. I don't think I would go to another show of his or promote his show unless I heard good reviews otherwise.

    A little disappointed

by Cmer on 10/18/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

Still sexy and talented Brian McKnight was a little disappointing last night. Perhaps it was the two women talking non-stop or the fact that it was so hard to see from the back. Brian forgets that we want to hear the songs that made him famous, not the audience. It was a treat to see that he has raised two very talented sons who will soon be on the radio as well. I show fell short for me, sorry to say.

    Life time memory!

by Tracina on 10/18/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

I sat in my seat an found myself amazed that Brian McKnight, one of my favorite artists, was not only standing before me singing so many of my favorite songs...But he was hitt'n it! Every note was perfect. He was "ON" all night! He not only met my expectations he went beyond them. It was almost emotional as I listened to him give the audience his soul. When he brought his boys up it felt good to know that he trusted them with "his" spotlight and us with the support they needed to stand next to their dad and BLOW US AWAY! What a bonus! He then stayed, after giving us what appeared to be all 100% of himself on that stage, and signed his cd's and posed for pictures with kindness and graciousness. I told him that there were not many events that I will remember for the rest of my life, but thanked him for being a part of this one! I will see his show every time he comes to town! You can't get enough pure, true, effortless talent to uplift you! Thank you!

Brian McKnight, a night to remember

by Ewells on 10/18/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

Without question -- one of the most fantastic concerts I've had the pleasure of seeing in-person; entertaining; energetic; an explosive personaility and a voice able to trump live what most strive (and often fail) to achieve in a studio. Brian's lost none of his charisma, sex-appeal or raw talent. The introduction of his children and their brief performance was also a lovely addition. And in full recognition of that fact that I'm repeating myself - WOW, what a magnificent voice... and the personality to boot.

    Brian McKnight IS the Showman!!!!!!!!

by 1cathy on 10/18/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

Brian was incredible!!! He has such a voice, such a powerful and fun presence. From the moment he came out, he was total entertainment!!!!!! Loved his (2) sons joining him, also very talented young men. We were in the back view section...too close to the bar and had lots of noise competing with Brian's singing...would jump immediately next time and buy up front if we come to the EQ again.. Forget that some people with very loud voices love to talk through the entire program....ugh!! But Brian McNight was pure delight to watch, listen to on that stage......he is incredible!!!!!!

    Brain McKnight was amazing!

by LovinBrian on 10/18/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

This concert was one of the best I've ever been to. The audience was mature, for the most part, which made it enjoyable. The venue was good, except for the smokiness. But the best part was Brian himself. What an amazing performer. I've been a fan for at least 10 years but I've never seen him perform. I will return to see him over and over. The show was fun, sexy and soulful. Thank you Brian!

    Brian McKnight was great!!!

by SueBee16 on 10/18/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

The Venue was nice, though all on one level so difficult to see if you are short. We were lucky enough to move to the front row of our section. And the price was VERY good. Music awesome and his voice sooooo easy to listen to.

Brian McKnight is the most romantic singer!

by Anonymous on 10/18/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

Brian McKnight is a great singer and puts on one heck of a show. He brought down the house with his awesome voice. This is one great artist that you don't want to miss in concert. I barely have a voice left from all of the screaming. The seating at the concert hall was too confined but once the party started it really didn't matter.

Brian McKnight is a true talent!!

by hapaSeattle on 10/18/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

Brian McKnight's show was so amazing. As great as he sounds on his albums, he sounds even better live - he blew me away. He sang song after song seamlessly without skipping a beat and with his improv and musical talent he made all of my favorite songs sound new and refreshing. I can't wait for his new cd to come out next week!!!

    Brian was amazing

by Temarjo on 10/18/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

He sounded wonderful. His boys are very talented. The base player talented and a mess. He had me laughing and in tears at the end of the show. I would go again tonight if Brian was going to be there. *** Emerald Queen Casino needs a no smoking rule or better exhaust system for shows. Not good for performers and patrons with asthma. *** I needed my inhaler!

    Brian McKnight rocked the house!

by Bolo26 on 10/18/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

This show was beautiful! Brian has an incredible voice, his band was tight, and he really made the show fun. He played his old and new stuff and brought his sons into the show, which was pretty cute. I can't wait to see him again even though the venue smelled like an ashtray and lacked clean air. I just don't personally like the casino scene.

    3 of them?!

by onezee on 10/18/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

the show was a real treat if you enjoy a relaxing night of watching pure talent. He brought out his two boys who are clearly taking after their dad. Price was a bit high for the venue, but supporting an old school artist who's kept it real over so many years was worth it.

    B McKnight is real!

by Meshard on 10/18/09Emerald Queen Casino - Tacoma

The total was amazing. My significant other and I had a great time. He did a great tribute to M.J. and he sung so many of his classics. He didn't sing Crazy Love but with a library of songs so deep you can only get so many of them in a few hours. Oh yeah, his two sons, Niko and B.J. are the next generation. The apple truly didn't fall from the tree. Great show and the encore was GREAT! Keep coming back to Tacoma Brian. I know I would pay the money again. Next time I hope to get tickets as soon as they are announced.
