Over the course of crafting a 29-album catalog and architecting 40 Billboard #1 singles as a keyboardist, songwriter and producer, Brian Culbertson has charted his own unique course in music. Label him jazz and he makes a funk record. Call him an R&B artist and he drops an acoustic jazz trio collection. And you'd be hard pressed to name another instrumentalist of his ilk who can mount an elaborately designed concert production that will keep him on the road for three consecutive months.
Culbertson burst onto the scene in 1994 with a chart-topping album that he recorded in his college apartment featuring keyboard-led contemporary jazz tracks. Flash forward to present day, Culbertson has been going back and listening more and more to music that inspired him as a young musician such as David Sanborn, The Brecker Bros, Chick Corea, Al Jarreau, Pat Metheny & others in the jazz fusion world.
Whether you're listening to music from "Day Trip" on record or live in concert, you're hearing an eclectic, entertaining and engaging set from an artist at the peak of his power.
One of the best concerts I have seen this year - he is the ultimate performer and his band is fantastic.
This was by far one of the best Brian Culbertson concerts I’ve seen! The part of the show that stands out for me…HORNS! The brass section was amazing and when they came front and center with BC…WOW!!! I’m still on a “Day Trip” high! So exciting and definitely made my year! Looking forward to seeing Brian Culbertson again real soon.
Enjoyed every moment of the show, from Brian to the whole band. I'm ready to see them again.
I’ve been to concerts this year where the performance seemed short on time and value for my money, but Brian Cuthbertson came with the energy and then some. He’s the consummate musician AND performer!
Love the event at Carolina Theater. I also treated myself, which just made a night of event by staying in a hotel room. I'm looking forward to doing this again.
Wow, Wow, Wow, the best show ever. Excellent music from the whole group and Brian was just so full of outstanding energy the whole show. Brian never stopped, never sat down and never left the stage. What a great showman. The venue was beautiful and comfortable. Our seat were very good, good viewing. The sound system was very well controlled and delivered beautiful notes!
Due to a medical emergency in the lobby the show started about 1/2 hrs late. Show was great. I am a member of the Hang club and waited after the show for the group picture. We didn't get out of the theater until very late. Traffic was horrendous and finally got back to hotel at the airport at midnight. We will not go to Charlitte again. Greeneville, TN was a much better venue with 1200 seats not 800. Please book Greeneville next year. We would hate to miss you.
Well Brian Culbertson is a great entertainer and artist… If you love contemporary jazz, you have to make one of his concerts, he never disappoints. I had a great time and experience… The theatre was perfect and the staff was so polite and welcoming. They even stored my leftover food until after the show… I love the area around the theatre, lots of great food and spirits. I had appetizers and drinks at Italian restaurant on the corner, beautiful!!! Was a great date night! I will go back for other events.
What an absolutely incredible experience! Brian Culbertson’s show was truly one of a kind — a perfect blend of talent, energy, and pure musical genius. The musicians were phenomenal, each one bringing extraordinary skill and soul to the stage. And Brian himself… simply surreal! His performance was electrifying from start to finish — every note, every rhythm, every smile radiated passion and joy. It wasn’t just a concert; it was a full-on celebration of music, creativity, and connection. An unforgettable night that left everyone in the audience amazed and inspired. If you ever get the chance to see Brian Culbertson live — don’t miss it!
His performance was fantastic!! He played two hours straight, and every song was incredible! What a talented artist. I will definitely see him again if he comes back to the DMV!
Concert was excellent. Brian always gives a great performance. First time at the Warner theater. Has great acoustics, loved the convenience of the building's clean parking garage.
Brian and his whole band where excellent. What a professional display of mastering music. The presentation was great. Culbertson is one of the best. Don't miss his tour.
Brian and band were awesome! Sure wish he had played Feelin it although Chuck Brown is RIP but since he was in the DMV this would have ended the concert just right!
The concert was amazing. The Warner Theater is beautiful. Perhaps the staff can work on a more efficient way for guest to exit after the show.
The lines moved very swiftly. The concert started on time. The staff was very helpful also my first time @ the Warner Theater. Then an amazing show.
Brian (and his team) are outrageous musicians. Every minute was "music to your ears".... don't miss any of his concerts
Wow!! what an awesome show. Electrifying, explosive, creative. I had a BLAST; wish the show was a little longer. Only downside of the venue, recommend better snacks…the pretzel was too hard to eat (money wasted on this snack). Can also tone down the air that blew directly from above.
Regardless of the number of times that I see Bruan performs, the show are always great. With the addition of the all-star additions on the tour, it is true that talent attracts talent.
Seeing Brian Culbertson was on my Bucket List. I thought he primarily performed on the west coast or if on the east, in Daytona. Knowing that he was appearing in Red Bank was like winning the lottery to me! My first time seeing him, he did not disappoint! Four stars given because my daughter and I had seats in the balcony, and we’re both tall. Seating was tight. Note to self…
It was one of the best concerts, lasted two hours and started on time. Brian took no breaks. The entire band was phenomenal. Sound was great. Loved it.
