About

Brett Goldstein--a breakthrough British creative force on and offscreen -- has emerged as one of Hollywood's most sought-after multihyphenates. He is the co-executive producer, writer, and star of the Peabody-winning Apple TV+ series, "Ted Lasso." Hailed by fans and critics alike, season three made waves after surpassing its previous record-breaking haul, once again leading as this year's most-nominated comedy series with 21 Emmy nominations. His scene-stealing performance as the brash yet lovable Roy Kent has earned him numerous accolades including two Primetime Emmy Awards for 'Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy,' making him the category's first back-to-back winner in almost 15 years.  He additionally received a 2022 WGA Award nomination as part of the show's writing team, having scored two wins the year prior. Goldstein is the creator and executive producer of the cathartic comedy "Shrinking" alongside Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence, which has been renewed for a second season by Apple TV+. This follows the success of his critically acclaimed AMC limited anthology series, "Soulmates," which he created and executive produced with Will Bridges. He is the host of the iHeartRadio award-winning podcast, Films To Be Buried With, which finds him in candid conversation with special guests as they discuss the films that have shaped them.

    Brett Goldstein

by Hazel on 1/30/24New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

I LOVED it. It was everything I hoped it would be. My two guests didn’t know Brett as they were not Ted Lasso viewers. They both loved the show! As a side note we also loved Mo! The opening act.

    Great show and venue

by Ernesto on 1/30/24New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

I'm a big fan of Brett Goldstein. I listen to his podcast and loved Roy Kent on Ted Lasso. I' really enjoying the apple show he created. Shrink. I have to admit I wasn't too familiar with his stand up but he was great. Funny, engaging and never to over the top. I would definitely try to catch another show whenever he comes back East. BTW very nice venue the NJPAC.

    Beyond My Expectations

by Funny gal on 1/30/24New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Brett and his opening act were super funny. I loved him in Ted Lasso but I did not know he did stand up. The venue was a great place for a performance. Not a bad seat in the house.

Brett Goldstein is a Genius. His humor is for everyone, and his delivery of his material is second to none. I have seen him twice and would not hesitate to going back again. If you get the opportunity to see him you won't regret it. A must see!!!

    Charming and hysterical

by Erinn on 1/30/24The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Brett was both charming and hysterical, which is an intoxicating combination. He lit the place up with laughter and smiles. Don't go with the expectation of getting a Ted Lasso show - while he does give some nods to the show, this is HIS storytelling and life, and it's great.

    Great night out!

by DonnaHof on 1/29/24The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Show was great! Love Brett Goldstein!!! Venue was gorgeous! Enjoyed food and drinks in the Grande Salle beforehand. Only negative in my opinion was the lighting was little dark to be able to see Brett clearly. But hearing his voice do his routine was awesome!!! He cracks me up and his headliner was funny too!!!

Brett is even better than you hope

by Gina on 1/29/24The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Brett Goldstein was positively brilliant and charming and worth everything it took to be there. That said, the Met Philly is a terrible venue…the VIP level seating is terrible, with high-backed barstools for seats—hard for me with lumbar issues and my daughter with a post-op knee. The staff was inhospitable to downright rude. One gem of a woman helped us; only to have the solution taken away again later. Would see Brett again, will never go to the Met Philly again!

Funny as hell without being offensive

by Jessica on 1/29/24The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

The Met theater was a great traditional proscenium theater and our view from the rear orchestra was great. Brett Goldstein was hilarious and I don’t think a single thing he said was offensive to anyone. It was refreshing to laugh without any negativity in the room. Would definitely see him again.

Brett was great, opener was “eh”

by Katzeratze on 1/29/24The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Brett Goldstein was great, and the venue was amazing. It was a fairly short show, but worthwhile. The opener was a slow starter. He hit his stride in the end and was funny, but for a while it was questionable. 😊

    Worth the ticket price...

by ENZOsMUM on 1/29/24The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

I was lucky to have forgotten about ticket sales for the first show in Philly and by the time I got on to buy them, there was a second show allowing me to get better seats! The tickets were not cheap, but the seats were amazing and worth it...Pit 2. I wish he would have stayed on stage a bit longer. I'm glad he did not use Ted Lasso as the backbone of his show. As much as it tops the list of shows I've seen, it was great to see him as himself.

Not great - the opening act was atrocious

by Greg on 1/29/24The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

I was really looking forward to this show as I am a big Ted Lasso fan and thought Brent Goldstein was great in it. The night started horribly with the opening act. I've been to over 100 comedy shows in my life, and the opener was the worst I've even seen. It was terrible. This is not an exaggeration. It couldn't have gone worse than it did. Once Brett came on things certainly got better but not by much. There were some funny moments for sure, but the reality is that he was subpar at best. I don't think he is a comedian by trade. HE certainly has a lot to work on. I like to uncontrollably laugh at a comedy show rather than struggle to keep my eyes open. Save your money. This show wasn't worth it!!!

    Great show

by Bruce on 1/29/24The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Brett Goldstein is a fantastic comic. Highly recommend you see him. He did not rely on his role as Roy Kent-just had original and hilarious material.

    Fun night out

by Jill on 1/29/24The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Brett on Friday night. He was very funny and kept the audience entertained. I loved him reading questions from the audience at the end and his answers. Would definitely see him again.

    Charming and Funny

by Emily on 1/29/24The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Loved Brett Goldstein, no notes. Well... one note. The lighting was so unbelievably dim, I couldn't even make out vague facial expressions. It was actually ridiculous. My seats were high in the balcony, but I've seen many a show before. And nothing ever like that. Okay, two notes... the opener (I understand he's long term friends with Brett, but yikes) was someone I didn't find funny. He sounded wasted and ramble-y and maybe I'm not smart enough to get his humor? I don't know. But that was tough for me to listen to. Otherwise the venue was beautiful, the seats were comfortable, the drinks were expensive but very strong, and Brett was very funny and fun to listen to. Great show.

    Brett G is a Pro

by Jay G on 1/29/24The Met Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Went to see Brett Goldstein at the Met in Philly. He is truly a great comic having his moment. And he doesn't at all lean on the Ted Lasso material or cast in his show as one might expect. His material was very clever and observational and he uses the British heritage to perfection. To be fair, I also saw him at the Beacon in NYC only a month or so ago but my Wife demanded to see him after I went without her. Kudos to Brett very funny! And I'm glad the dog survived.
