About

Boys Like Girls are a pop-rock band that formed in 2005. The quartet skyrocketed up the charts with anthemic singles like “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk,” with the latter’s accompanying music video featuring High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale. Their two breakthrough singles were followed by a sweeping emo-tinged ballad featuring Taylor Swift, “Two Is Better Than One,” which helped the band’s second album (2009’s Love Drunk) land in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, the band’s frontman Martin Johnson began writing/producing music for everyone from blink-182 to Avril Lavigne, leading to Boys Like Girls going on hiatus (reforming sporadically to tour between 2016 and 2020). In May 2023, the band released “Blood and Sugar,” the first single from their upcoming fourth album and their first new song in over a decade.

  • Boys Like Girls = Two Thumbs Up

by partietraumatic on 7/17/09Peabody's Downunder - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5

The Boys Like Girls show was really good. The opening acts were The Ready Set and Never Shout Never. The Ready Set played a really fun set and Never Shout Never was also really good. Boys Like Girls were amazing as always. They played perfectly and the surprise appearance by Travis from We the Kings made it all the more fun. BLG did a great job getting the crowd involved and it was apparent how down to earth they really are. I'd see them again any day!

I can honestly say that was one of, if not the best, concerts of my life. Boys Like Girls are abosutely in love with their fans and it shows in everything that they do. And they sure know how to put on one hell of a show. If you've never seen them live, where the hell have you been?!? Go and see them as often as you can.

  • Amazingg.

by Xmarkstheskull on 7/17/09The Blue Note - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

BLG was stunning. They were so energetic and fun. [I may be a little biased because they are my favorite band, but even if you weren't really that into them, you would of probably had fun.] We drove three hours to see them in Colubmia from Kansas, and waited in line for four hours, and another hour before the show actually started, but it was all worth the wait. We even waited another hour and a half and met the band after the show. [We only met Bryan and Martin, but we could of waited a little longer and met Paul and probably John, but we were reallyy tired but it was awesome getting to meet even one member of the band, and of course they were extremely nice too.] I will probably never miss another BLG concert after this, it was just amazing.

Boys Like Girls is a band that knows how to put on a good rock & roll show. Guitar swings around their bodies, GREAT lighting and just makes everyone very hyped up! The crowd went nuts for them! HIGHLY recommend!

  • BoysLikeGirl was just amazing

by FaythBLG on 7/16/09Chameleon Club - LancasterRating: 5 out of 5

The two opening bands really knew how to get an audience going, they got everyone pumped for BoysLikeGirls, and when it was time for the boys to come on everyone was really excited. BoysLikeGirls is my favorite band simply for there stage presence and lyrics. They are wonderful to their fans and they really know how to give back to us :)
