Never Shout Never Shoulda Been the Headliner!
by JustAnotherMom on 7/28/09The Blue Note - ColumbiaRating: 3 out of 5As a mom of teenagers accompanying them to the show, I had my doubts about what to expect. I found The Blue Note a great place for a show - seats in the balcony for me, dancing on the floor level for them - sufficient security for me that was never noticed by them - great staff!! I was most impressed with Never Shout Never, even though they weren't the main attraction. Christofer Drew had the crowd in the palm of his hand and seemed to truly enjoy the whole experience. Having only heard the music, I was impressed and the kids were thrilled with the way he interacted with the crowd. And, he had with him a great group of musicians - tons of talent - and the crowd jumped and danced and squealed the whole time. My favorite part was after the show - the bass guitar player from The Ready Set visited with concertgoers out front of the theater, signing autographs and talking to fans. Christofer Drew stood out back and talked and signed and posed for pictures until the last fan got to visit with him - and all this while still spending some time with his family who came up for the show. It was clear that even though these guys might rather have been relaxing on the bus eating dinner, they understand they couldn't do what they love for pay without all those young people buying their music. As far as spending my money for music or shows, I will be more than willing to spring for tickets for either of the two "opening acts" from this event, and more of their music is on the wish list for birthday gifts for the kids - don't you love ITunes gift cards.
