About

Boys Like Girls are a pop-rock band that formed in 2005. The quartet skyrocketed up the charts with anthemic singles like “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk,” with the latter’s accompanying music video featuring High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale. Their two breakthrough singles were followed by a sweeping emo-tinged ballad featuring Taylor Swift, “Two Is Better Than One,” which helped the band’s second album (2009’s Love Drunk) land in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, the band’s frontman Martin Johnson began writing/producing music for everyone from blink-182 to Avril Lavigne, leading to Boys Like Girls going on hiatus (reforming sporadically to tour between 2016 and 2020). In May 2023, the band released “Blood and Sugar,” the first single from their upcoming fourth album and their first new song in over a decade.

  • Cobra Starship The Maine and Boys like girls great

by Autty on 11/4/09Rocketown - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I thought the first two bands were like a middle school concert. Once the Maine got out there it was all up hill! During Cobra Starship I never stopped moving. Once Boys like Girls got out there I never stopped singing or yelling!!! Over all best night of my life!

The concert was amazing! I was pretty upset though when I found out that I payed $100 for a picture with boys like girls. I was not even allowed an autograph! There were too many people with meet and greet, causing everyone to get only seconds with the band.

  • first concert and best concert

by iloverylandblacklinton on 11/4/09Warehouse Live - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first concert, but it was AMAZING!! I'd never heard of a rocket to the moon before but they were REALLY good!! It's always cool to become one of the first fans of a band. and then the maine was awesome too, ima big fan. and then cobra starship, WOW!! Ryland Blackinton threw his guitar pick to me! im now wearing it as a necklace :))))) i will NEVER take if off! (not really, but ya know). im a cobra starship fan for life now and i got to meet ryland and give him a hug and take a picture with him, and i showed him his guitar pick. dont be stupid and forget to bring a sharpie like me! and boys like girls was incredible as well. they were all really good live!

This concert was hands down the best I have been to! I wish Cobra Starship was on for longer though because they did a great job, and I think they were the best.

This concert was amazing! If you don't mind being packed in with a ton of people I definitely recommend going to Rocketown. I made my way to right in front of the stage and was amazing the bands threw out all kinds of water bottles, guitar picks and drumsticks. They were all so lively too, they really made the crowd part of the show. Overall this was one of the most fun concerts I've ever been to.

  • BLG is AMAZING

  • Opening Acts more appealing than headliner

by marthajane on 11/4/09Rocketown - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

My daughter and her friend went to the Boys Like Girls show last night in Nashville. They were excited about most of the opening acts, and also excited to see Boys Like Girls. But, they called me to pick them up about halfway through the headliner performance. I guess they are more critical about what they are seeing than the normal drooling starry-eyed fourteen year old girls. They were sick of being there and had enough. They were tired of standing after three hours. Next time, maybe not SO MANY opening acts, right? BTW they still can't hear anything. Should have worn ear plugs most industry people do...

  • Boys Like Girls was just beyond amazing!!!!!

by TawanaDon on 11/4/09Rocketown - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Hands down! I feel sorry for those who missed out!

  • by SamiKay88 on 11/4/09Rocketown - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The show was good, it could have been better if a bunch of screaming fan girls weren't pushing their elbows into my ribs and back. Overall the show was awesome, my personal favorite band had to be Cobra Starship.

  • BLG were so fun!

    by sugarmagnoliax70 on 11/4/09Rocketown - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Boys Like Girls had a great live show. I was very impressed with how much they interacted with the crowd. There was a stage rush at the end and Martin (the lead singer) was on stage for 30-45 minutes after the concert signing autographs and taking pictures. It was cool that they weren't too cool for us. Cobra Starship also put on an amazing live show; they're real crowd pleasers. If they were to headline I would probably go see them again.

  • WELL WORTH THE PRICE!!!

by LittleMrsMaine on 11/4/09Rocketown - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

From the high pitched wails of VersaEmerge, the Pop-Punk sound of A Rocket To The Moon, to the high light of my night the unforgettable... THE MAINE!!!! Cobra starship and its punk- electro sound was a loud, energizing set.. to the headline band Boys Like Girls, all of the bands did amazing, and I hope everyone who like that kind of music gets to see them one day :)

  • BEST CONCERT EVER!!!!

by daveysgirl on 11/4/09Rocketown - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Usually opening bands go by really slowly and I end up wishing I could see the headliner already, but every single one of the the opening bands, even the ones I hadn't heard of before, were amazing! This is more of a reflection of the venue, but usually Rocketown staff are pretty slow and unfriendly, but they got the equipment set up tremendously fast and I never felt like we were waiting forever to see the next act. Also, the security was tighter but they were extremely nice to us all. Versa Emerge was an amazing band, much like Paramore, with a female lead singer backed up by guys. I bought their CD because they were so awesome, and I got it signed as I was leaving. A Rocket to the Moon was terrific as well, and I bought their CD and got it autographed, and the guys were all really cool. The Maine was so much fun to listen to and they are all such sweet guys and we got to get pictures and autographs after the show, and each of them really made me feel special, not like just another fan. Of course, Cobra Starship rocked the house with it's light effects and upbeat music, and I think they were better live this time around than the first time I saw them. And Boys Like Girls was too good for words. They played all of their amazing songs that I wanted to hear, and even though the mics weren't working for a while, we still had a great time with them. At the end, they sang The Great Escape, which is my favorite song, and let us get up onstage and dance and sing with them. I had so much fun being so close to the band, and with as many concerts as I've been to, I have never been able to go onstage. Boys Like Girls is fantastic, great guys, and amazing performers. I got a guitar pick as I was leaving the stage, and I can now say I have touched two of the members! Overall it was the best concert I have ever been to.

this is a great venue! You can get up close and personal to the bands and have amazing views from the balcony. The bands ROCKED!

  • small venue good show

    by GreenDayFan21 on 11/4/09Rocketown - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

First time at Rocketown and will definitely go back. VersaEmerge were very good live. Never heard of A Rocket to the Moon but they put on a good show. Heard of The Maine but have not many songs by them. They were pretty good though. Cobra Starship really rocked the place. They are a good band but an even better one live. And finally the headliners Boys Like Girls. They actually surprised me. I really did not think they would be that great live, but one again I was surprised. Overall it was a good show for such a small club. If have never seen a show at Rocketown I suggest you do so. You will not be disappointed.

  • boys like girls, cobra starship and the maine!!

    by musicgeek4444 on 11/3/09Warehouse Live - HoustonRating: 4 out of 5

I LOVED THIS CONCERT!!!!! the only thing that kept this rating for being a 5 is the fact that the intro bands played a little to long. other than that the 3 main bands ROCKED IT!
