About

Boys Like Girls are a pop-rock band that formed in 2005. The quartet skyrocketed up the charts with anthemic singles like “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk,” with the latter’s accompanying music video featuring High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale. Their two breakthrough singles were followed by a sweeping emo-tinged ballad featuring Taylor Swift, “Two Is Better Than One,” which helped the band’s second album (2009’s Love Drunk) land in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, the band’s frontman Martin Johnson began writing/producing music for everyone from blink-182 to Avril Lavigne, leading to Boys Like Girls going on hiatus (reforming sporadically to tour between 2016 and 2020). In May 2023, the band released “Blood and Sugar,” the first single from their upcoming fourth album and their first new song in over a decade.

  • Venue Max

by Anonymous on 11/7/09Florida Theatre Jacksonville - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The music was incredible. The only problems were the seating. I thought that the venue (Florida Theater) was too small for a concert so big. Other than that, everything was great. The light effects were phenominal! It was pretty much a party in there!!! Plus, I really like that the changes in between bands went smooth and fast... Other concerts have not been so punctual. Great Job!

  • Great Show

    by 1BLGfan on 11/7/09Florida Theatre Jacksonville - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This show was amazing. Great Bands, Great Music, it was just amazing. The only thing I did not like was how many times the bands would use the F word. Not something for young people to hear. The music was clean though. I would see this show again. Great fun for the price. What a Deal!!!!!!!

  • Boys like Girls and Cobra Starship were amazing!!

by aXcpunk on 11/7/09Florida Theatre Jacksonville - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This was probably one of the better concerts I have been to, and I have seen a lot. I didn't know who Cobra Starship was going in, but not only did they have me moving in my seat, I am also going to buy the Cd. They were outstanding. Of coarse, Boys Like Girls stole the show. They were absolutely amazing! They interacted with the audience and sounded great! I have been trying to see them for two years now, and I was NOT disappointed. They are worth seeing :)

  • Could of been better!

by HMJR on 11/7/09Rocket to the Moon, Versa Emerge,The Maine,Cobra Strarship, BLG - JacksonvilleRating: 4 out of 5

This was a birthday present for my kid, I got the "Meet & Greet" I paid alot of money for these tickets- we got to event a 1/2 hour earlier than requested (at 4:00pm) , was told would promptly be entering building at 4:30p so if you were late too bad. We waited & waited & did not see band till about 10 minutes to 6pm. BLG would not sign autographs like we were told they would and because they were running late -what I got was a "Hurry Up & Go!" instead of "Meet & Greet" . They took a quick picture w/ each kid , basically in a dark corner so goodluck with these pixs. As part of the package I was told would rcv a poster (I figured it would be a atleast an 11x 13 poster w/ venue on it ) but instead got a 7x4 snapshot of them. Other than feeling very upset over being mislead, and not getting what I paid for- it was a good show, lot of energy with the bands. Also had friends outside waiting in line, some people did not get into building till about 25 minutes after show started, which they were not happy about. Nevertheless I would most likely go to see BLG again if my kid wanted to go but I would never do the Meet & Greet again its a waste of money.

  • Cobra Starship was so energetic!!

Once The Maine went up I was so excited! Cobra Starship was for sure my favorite. They were so energetic!! They really pumped up the audience. Boys Like Girls were also amazing! I really liked their opening to their act of "Tonight's Goin' to be a good night"

This was by far one of the best concerts ever! I knew three of the bands and they are three of my favorites, the other two were unbelievable too! If you have a chance to go, it is worth every penny!!! You will not regret it!

  • LOVED IT!

    by Daniella82091 on 11/6/09Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

The show was definitely an amazing experience. I had bought the VIP ticket so I was able to "meet and greet" them. Although in reality the meet and greet was just taking a picture with them and getting a presigned poster of them. We got first picks of places to stand in, I decided to be towards the front of the stage. However, after the first band performed things got too crazy there with people pushing, so I went towards the back where it was calmer. All bands were amazing, especially The Maine, Cobra Starship, and Boys Like Girls. The only problem was the long wait, Boys Like Girls didn't get on until almost 10:30pm while the concert had started at 6pm. It was very tiring but worth it in the end. By the time Boys Like Girls came on the crowd was calmer and manageable so we were truly able to enjoy the concert.

I took my 13 year old daughter and her friend, They had a great experience. The area in the back upstairs was great for the adults. The only complaint was that I paid an awful lot for the meet and greet and found it a bit disorganizrd and was left feeling a little slighted as they gave us presigned posters and di not inform us of the mailing if the bracelets etc.. Otherwise, we really loved the whole experience.

I had never seen Boys Like Girls live before, so going into this event I didn't know what to expect. Thankfully, they were incredible. They have amazing stage presence and really worked the stage. They are just as good, if not better, live. They didn't let me down. They were perfect. I love them!!!

One of the beset shows I've ever been to. Boys Like Girls are some of the best entertainers I've ever seen. Do yourself a favor and go to a show or two.

  • It wasn't the best they've ever played.

by Thelizzylou on 11/5/09Rocketown - NashvilleRating: 2 out of 5

I've seen all the bands live previously except for versa emerge. I disliked the show because the bands played for shorter times than they usually do and sang mostly all of their new songs that noone knew. I was disappointed that the maine sang two cover songs, as opposed to songs they could have played off their album. They haven't even recorded the cover songs they played, so it was kind of a let down. Also, Cobra Starship performed well, as usual, but they played mostly songs off their new album, which noone knew. Boys like girls also played mostly songs off their new album, which noone knew. Point being, if you listened to more of their new stuff, you might have enjoyed the show more than I did, but I haven't listened to much off all the band's recently released albums so I didn't enjoy myself as much as I have enjoyed their shows in the past.

  • The show was amazing!

by egbl on 11/5/09Rocketown - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

While Versa Emerge's set was forgettable, due only to the fact their set was incredibly short, The Maine, ARTTM, Cobra Starship, and The Maine brought high energy and got the crowd pumped!

This Show was amazing! Not only did i see them that night but I won tickets to see them at a pre-show where they played acoustic. They are great performers and they can really sing and play. i give them 5 stars and they definately earned it. I would pay to see them every time they come to town
