About

Boys Like Girls are a pop-rock band that formed in 2005. The quartet skyrocketed up the charts with anthemic singles like “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk,” with the latter’s accompanying music video featuring High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale. Their two breakthrough singles were followed by a sweeping emo-tinged ballad featuring Taylor Swift, “Two Is Better Than One,” which helped the band’s second album (2009’s Love Drunk) land in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, the band’s frontman Martin Johnson began writing/producing music for everyone from blink-182 to Avril Lavigne, leading to Boys Like Girls going on hiatus (reforming sporadically to tour between 2016 and 2020). In May 2023, the band released “Blood and Sugar,” the first single from their upcoming fourth album and their first new song in over a decade.

  • Disappointing

by Jim on 10/26/23Roxian Theatre - PittsburghRating: 2 out of 5

It was not advertised that there were three additional bands performing with BLG. This was a late evening concert. Those three bands did at least six to eight songs each. There was a long delay before BLG started their performance as the final act. With having to go to work the next day, myself and alot of other people there left. I only got to hear 3-4 songs. I was extremely disappointed and expecting to have a night of listening to BLG music, but what i got was more of the other bands music and limited BLG. Maybe there should have been only one or two opening acts, just a thought.

  • AMAZING

by Luhhrrr on 10/26/23Roxian Theatre - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

This show was FANTASTIC! The opening acts killed and Boys Like Girls was better than I could have imagined! Would 100% see them again.

  • They're BACK

by Jimmie on 10/26/23Roxian Theatre - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

They're back like they never left! Years later and they haven't skipped a beat, it not even better than I last saw them 10+ years ago. Was definitely something special seeing them back at it again!

  • Boys Like Girls at Detroit Fillmore, 2023

by MamaKole on 10/25/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Opening act Michigan's own EVERY AVENUE sure pumped the crowd up, and the other performers followed suit. Each brought their unique energy and drive, and the crowd was totally having it! The Fillmore is the total venue package, great location in the D, vintage charm, amazing sound, clean, well organized, ADA section, nice bar, good staff and security. The crowd was having a good time, there were no issues, just fun. They were loud and proud, and off the charts when BOYS LIKE GIRLS took the stage. Fans won't forget this night, will continue to follow their faves, and will want to return to the Fillmore to see others perform.

  • Sound check was not good.

by Fish on 10/25/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 1 out of 5

You could not hear the vocals. Whoever did sound check did horrible!

  • GREAT show! GREAT lineup!!

by Amber Marie on 10/25/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Boys Like Girls / STATE CHAMPS / The Summer Set / Every Avenue How can you beat a line up like that! They did not disappoint. Mezzanine seats were the perfect seats! Perfect view!

  • Amazing Show!

by Ali on 10/25/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Spectacular show! Every single band brought amazing energy and talent. Boys Like Girls KILLED it, but Every Avenue, Lolo, State Champs, and the Summer Set were also outstanding! Everyone had an amazing time screaming the lyrics, dancing in the aisles…..10/10 experience.

  • Boys like girls 👍 the rest 👎

by Charity on 10/25/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

Boys Like Girls was ABSOLUTELY amazing… however. There was 4 opening acts which was not needed. The sound check was terrible, I was upper balcony, could barely hear a word some of the bands were even saying. The show wasn’t even over yet and the parking was expiring even though it said 2 hours after the show ends I have till.. so we left early because it was 4 hours of opening acts. I would have loved to hear more of Boys Like Girls themselves as I love them! But overall it was a “meh” experience.

  • Incredible

by Kendall on 10/25/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

This was an incredible show and overall experience. From the venue to the band everything was great! I would attend another BLG show is a heartbeat!

  • Fun show, terrible venue

by Megan on 10/24/23House of Blues Cleveland - ClevelandRating: 3 out of 5

I typically avoid shows at HOB Cleveland but couldn’t miss this show. We were packed in like sardines and unless you got there hours before the door opened or paid for VIP, it was very difficult to see the stage. The sound in the venue is muffled and hard to understand.

  • Great bands….wrong start time

    by Beckett 💕 on 10/24/23Rating: 2 out of 5

The line up was amazing at House of Blues. Tickets stated doors open at 5:30 and show started at 6:30. We got there at 6pm disappointed to find that they started the show early and I missed the first band, which subsequently was the band I wanted to see most - maybe next time Every Avenue. Rest of the show was great.

  • Excellent and nostalgic

by Haney on 10/24/23House of Blues Cleveland - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5

Very fun experience. Loved the venue and the crowd was awesome. Just a total fun night with good people all around

  • Fantastic Show

by Natalie C. on 10/24/23House of Blues Cleveland - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great! The line up was perfect. The energy was insane. The sound was fantastic at HOB Cleveland and the bands were so sincere. Couldn’t of asked for a more intimate show. Obviously bands can have a higher performance level when they’re at a larger venue or have a bigger stage but I wouldn’t trade that for the intimacy any day. I happened to meet Martin after the show and appreciated his genuine demeanor as I thanked them for the amazing show and coming back to Cleveland. My biggest compliment to the band is the energy they share on stage. Obviously, they’re all friends; not just the band but the stage hands too. They’re real people and you don’t get to see that often. Stage presence was fantastic, conversations made you feel like they were speaking to you one on one. The sound was incredible; what a voice. Tossing guitar picks to the crowd is a favorite of mine personally because so many people had the chance for a keepsake. I can’t wait for them to come back to see BLG again!

  • AMAZING!!!!

by Gabby on 10/24/23House of Blues Cleveland - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5

So much fun! Saw State Champs last year at House of Blues and couldn’t wait to see Boys Like Girls! All the bands were amazing and I had an awesome time!

  • Nostalgia

by Rachel on 10/24/23House of Blues Cleveland - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5

Saw BLG for the first time in 6th grade - now as an 30 ye old, all the old songs were as good as they were back then! The new songs are amazing as well! The energy was electric and they sounded phenomenal!

  • Phenomenal Experience

by Hannah on 10/22/23The Sylvee - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

From the ease of parking, entrance and overall beauty we could not have been happier. We were lucky enough to get a random free upgrade to the Jack Daniel’s lounge, they ruined us for future concerts as the experience was top notch. There was not a single bad seat in the house and volume was perfect. We cannot wait for our next show at the Sylvee

  • Wrong Event Time

by Chicago on 10/22/23Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

All the bands who I saw play were incredible, however, the start time on the Chicago ticket said 7pm. Apparently the show started before 7pm (6-6:30) and I missed the earlier bands. Also feel bad for the bands that played first because the crowd would have been much bigger for them if their fans knew the correct start time.

got the drumstick. sobbed. the best day of my life. Definitely go if you want to LIVE and I mean live.

  • Boys like girls

by Stevie on 10/22/23Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was incredible. I got to see BLG back in 2014 and this topped their performance then. Every Avenue, The Summer Set, and Lolo crushed it. What a memory to have in the memory bank. The workers doing VIP were on the rude side and not very helpful. Besides that great experience.

  • It was decent

    by V. on 10/21/23Fillmore Auditorium (Denver) - DenverRating: 1 out of 5

After 2 hours of completely different music they played the good stuff at the last 5 min
