Boys Like Girls are a pop-rock band that formed in 2005. The quartet skyrocketed up the charts with anthemic singles like “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk,” with the latter’s accompanying music video featuring High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale. Their two breakthrough singles were followed by a sweeping emo-tinged ballad featuring Taylor Swift, “Two Is Better Than One,” which helped the band’s second album (2009’s Love Drunk) land in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, the band’s frontman Martin Johnson began writing/producing music for everyone from blink-182 to Avril Lavigne, leading to Boys Like Girls going on hiatus (reforming sporadically to tour between 2016 and 2020). In May 2023, the band released “Blood and Sugar,” the first single from their upcoming fourth album and their first new song in over a decade.

Very fun experience. Loved the venue and the crowd was awesome. Just a total fun night with good people all around
The show was great! The line up was perfect. The energy was insane. The sound was fantastic at HOB Cleveland and the bands were so sincere. Couldn’t of asked for a more intimate show. Obviously bands can have a higher performance level when they’re at a larger venue or have a bigger stage but I wouldn’t trade that for the intimacy any day. I happened to meet Martin after the show and appreciated his genuine demeanor as I thanked them for the amazing show and coming back to Cleveland. My biggest compliment to the band is the energy they share on stage. Obviously, they’re all friends; not just the band but the stage hands too. They’re real people and you don’t get to see that often. Stage presence was fantastic, conversations made you feel like they were speaking to you one on one. The sound was incredible; what a voice. Tossing guitar picks to the crowd is a favorite of mine personally because so many people had the chance for a keepsake. I can’t wait for them to come back to see BLG again!
So much fun! Saw State Champs last year at House of Blues and couldn’t wait to see Boys Like Girls! All the bands were amazing and I had an awesome time!
Saw BLG for the first time in 6th grade - now as an 30 ye old, all the old songs were as good as they were back then! The new songs are amazing as well! The energy was electric and they sounded phenomenal!
From the ease of parking, entrance and overall beauty we could not have been happier. We were lucky enough to get a random free upgrade to the Jack Daniel’s lounge, they ruined us for future concerts as the experience was top notch. There was not a single bad seat in the house and volume was perfect. We cannot wait for our next show at the Sylvee
All the bands who I saw play were incredible, however, the start time on the Chicago ticket said 7pm. Apparently the show started before 7pm (6-6:30) and I missed the earlier bands. Also feel bad for the bands that played first because the crowd would have been much bigger for them if their fans knew the correct start time.
got the drumstick. sobbed. the best day of my life. Definitely go if you want to LIVE and I mean live.
The concert was incredible. I got to see BLG back in 2014 and this topped their performance then. Every Avenue, The Summer Set, and Lolo crushed it. What a memory to have in the memory bank. The workers doing VIP were on the rude side and not very helpful. Besides that great experience.
After 2 hours of completely different music they played the good stuff at the last 5 min
Fantastic show from all the bands. Charlotte kicked off the tour and was amazing to see all the bands in form and Boys Like Girls play ALL the classics and some new ones. Simply awesome.
For the ticket pricing, this was a well worth concert! Lots of amazing bands, venue was full of super fun elder emos, all jamming to some good throwbacks! All of the bands sounded fantastic, the venue was clean, and drink prices were average for a concert these days!
Boys Like Girls put on a show that was PACKED with hits. There was very little talking compared to how much music was played, which is exactly how I like my concerts! The band created an excellent atmosphere for all who attended. 10/10, I would see them again in a heartbeat!
Seeing boys like girls was as amazing as seeing them back in 2009 they have the same great energy and really involve the crowd to participate and make it such an experience!
State Champs is what the scene needs. Boys Like Girls were good for the moment. But State Champs know how to start and finish a party.
My husband and I had a great time at the concert! We loved getting to be so up close to the band and the event space was perfect! We have loved the band for years and were so excited when they came into town again!! Can't wait to see them again, hopefully soon!
Left about 7 songs in. Couldn't hear anything. Just fuzz and bass. No distinction between the two guitar players and the vocals were drowned out by the fuzz. Also, boyslikegirls being 15 minutes late and then coming out smoking cigarettes was about as dumb as it gets.
As if the openers weren't already amazing and worthy of their own headlining, Boys Like Girls absolutely brought the house down! One of the amazing parts of their show is that they did not stop playing at all! They creatively tied together all of their songs, a few covers, and storytelling to their incredible musicianship and crowd control. A definite must see!
Went for State Champs.. Martin, you’re cool. Derek is the next FOB❤️
I felt 18 again. Martin continues being such a force onstage. They have two new guys and while I do miss Paul and BDooey, Greg and Jamel were amazing. They had a few technical difficulties but they didn’t let it stop them from performing and putting on such a GREAT show. Welcome back BLG. We missed you!
Great venue, friends and experience. Fantastic! BLG is at the top of their game. New music mixed with old and still going strong. One friend grew up on this music. As for me I’ve been on the carousel listening. Keep it up! Grandma and Mom would have loved it🇨🇦
