About

Boys Like Girls are a pop-rock band that formed in 2005. The quartet skyrocketed up the charts with anthemic singles like “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk,” with the latter’s accompanying music video featuring High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale. Their two breakthrough singles were followed by a sweeping emo-tinged ballad featuring Taylor Swift, “Two Is Better Than One,” which helped the band’s second album (2009’s Love Drunk) land in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, the band’s frontman Martin Johnson began writing/producing music for everyone from blink-182 to Avril Lavigne, leading to Boys Like Girls going on hiatus (reforming sporadically to tour between 2016 and 2020). In May 2023, the band released “Blood and Sugar,” the first single from their upcoming fourth album and their first new song in over a decade.

  • BLG ROCKS!

by Valerie on 7/16/24Premier Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - LedyardRating: 5 out of 5

The entire concert they had the crowd pumped up and everyone was having such an amazing time! They were amazing to see and I hope to be able to go see them again, it was an absolute amazing time with my husband, my son and my friend!! My son even got the tambourine near the end!

  • Amazing show!!!

by Gina on 12/30/23Hollywood Palladium - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

This was my third time seeing Boys Like Girls and as always, they did not disappoint. This was such an amazing show!! Loved the setlist, which included a good mix of songs from their first three albums, a few from their new album (which hadn't been released at the time that I saw them), and even brief snippets from some of their unreleased songs. Great interaction with the crowd too. I can't wait to see them again! Would highly recommend!

  • They freaking rocked!!

by Big Mac on 12/15/23The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver SpringRating: 5 out of 5

It was amazing meeting them and getting my photo with the band!! I had a meet and greet ticket. Also the night was amazing with all the bands performing and since it was Halloween night, the bands all dressed up which made it even more awesome!!

  • Best show ever

by Morgan on 11/9/23The Ritz - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

I had the best time. I broke my foot a week before the show and the staff was so sweet and helped me to a handicap section. The show was phenomenal and healed my inner teenager. I got to head bang and scream my heart out to some of my favorite songs. I can’t wait to see them again.

  • Boys Like Girls forever!

by faithsays on 11/7/23Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

What a spectacular set list, show, lineup! Everything about this concert was wonderful. Martin and his guys are just so genuine and their concert experience really shows that!

  • Nostalgia with good new music

by John Poland on 11/3/23MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

They put on a fantastic show. They introduced a lot of their new music which I've been listening to on repeat and played their crowd-pleasing classics. I might have liked their music before, but I'd consider myself a fan after seeing their performance.

  • Nostalgia, best concert!!

by Ehughie on 11/3/23The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver SpringRating: 5 out of 5

The whole lineup was amazing, but Boys Like Girls brought it to the next level. All of their songs are so much fun and the whole night was so nostalgic and perfect! Highly recommend seeing them in concert!

  • What an amazing performance

by JenaNYC on 11/2/23Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

AMAZING! Such a great show and played the perfect set list.

  • Loved BLG!

by Dani K on 11/2/23The Fillmore Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

I had an incredible time at the Boys Like Girls concert on 10/30/2023. The concert itself was electric, and I appreciated Spotify giving me a heads up that the concert was taking place. Purchasing the tickets themselves was really easy. It was unclear who the openers were however when purchasing the tickets, it was a little disappointing that one of the openers who I thought would be there wasn't, and it would have been great to have looked into the openers who were there a bit more.

  • Expected it to be great, but it was even better!

by Jeff on 11/2/23The Fillmore Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

From start to finish, the entire show was amazing!

  • A Powerhouse Lineup (that started too early)

by Nate S on 11/2/23The Fillmore Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

From start to finish, it was an amazing concert. All 5 acts (senses, LØLØ, The Summer Set, State Champs, and Boys Like Girls) brought it. Unfortunately, the concert started too early. Though the ticket clearly stated the concert started at 7pm, when I arrived at 6:35, senses only had 2 songs left. They were so good and engaging, I wish I could have seen more. LØLØ also went on before 7pm. The ticket and venue should have stated the concert started earlier. The way it happened, it hurt the fans of the openers and fans of concerts in general who missed quality music. Fans of the headliner only would have shown up later and would not have been affected. The Summer Set and State Champs performed exceptionally as one would expect of veteran artists. Even though I've never been a fan of State Champs, I found myself enjoying their shown. Boys Like Girls was worth the twelve year wait. Philly always brings the energy, but there was a new electricity as the concert was livestreamed on VEEPS. Overall, Boys Like Girls crafted their set exquisitely. Starting with Love Drunk was the right move. They "played mostly old stuff"but did include some of their new music. At the end, they said "let's get this over with"and told everyone to take out their phones. The played the first verse and chorus of The Great Escape before stopping and telling everyone to put their phones away and enjoy it like it was the year 2006. The end medleyed back into Love Drunk. The encore was just the frontman (Martin) doing an acoustic Two Is Better Than One.

  • THE BEST TIME

by Courtney on 11/2/23The Fillmore Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was not only amazing, but the venue is incredible. It’s got great drinks, great bartenders, the bathrooms were clean. I will be coming back for sure!

  • Even better than when I was in middle school

by Liz on 10/31/23MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

It was such an amazing experience to be able to see my favorite band all these years later!

  • Long breaks, but great show!

by Jen on 10/31/23Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

BOYS LIKE GIRLS sounded great and I was really impressed with their sound so many years after they rose to fame. My only complaint was that the some of the breaks between songs seemed unnecessarily long and they started to lose my attention at points. It seemed like Martin was fighting a cold, so I'm still giving 4 stars because maybe the breaks were made longer for him to grab some water and give his voice a couple minutes rest. Overall, I'd see them again. State Champs opened for them and are always top tier.

  • A great, nostalgic show.

by Jnino91 on 10/30/23Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Boys Like Girls may not be the biggest band in the world, but if they’re music means something to you, then you owe it to yourself to go see them live. Their performance was top notch, the memories that can come back from hearing the songs you probably heard 15 or so years ago is something else. Their new music was also great, modern sounding music with a Boys Like Girls twist on it.

  • Most fun I’ve ever had at a concert!

by Jade on 10/29/23History - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I fully believe that this concert was one of the best I’ve ever been to. I’ve never been to a concert where the artist asked us to put our phones away so that we could fully enjoy the moment, it was incredible. They sounded just as good as on their records and had so much enthusiasm. You can tell they really love what they do and they love their fans dearly. I’m definitely going to see them again. It was my childhood dream to see Boys Like Girls live. That concert was something that I will remember for the rest of my life.

  • Worth the Wait

by KK on 10/29/23MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I have been waiting for over a decade to see this band and they did not disappoint. They put on a phenomenal show and kept the audience engaged throughout the whole concert. They performed for about 1.5 hours and there was very little empty space throughout their set. The whole concert in total was over 5 hours and all groups that performed were incredible. I will absolutely be seeing them again when they tour again.

  • There for the openers

by Casie on 10/29/23MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

I loved Lolo, The Summer Set & State Champs. BLG are probably just out of practice. I didn’t feel as connected to them and thought they were a bit cringey. The venue was nice but everything was so over priced. We actually left early, 45 minutes into the headliner because it was giving ick.

  • Brought me Back

by Taryn on 10/28/23History - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Combining good music from your early 20s, memories of Warped Tour and an amazing new venue made for a great night. BLG still has it, and I hope they follow through with their promise of coming back to Toronto/Canada again soon because I can easily say it was a great show and a great time. I would also like to note as a hearing impaired human, History has some of the best acoustics out there. It’s hard finding venues that create a great ambiance and sound. I appreciate that I could sing along AND hear what they were saying, vs. singing along because I knew the words.

  • Worth the wait

by Matt on 10/27/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

The long wait is finally over and it was incredible. They optimized their set list time and kept talking to a minimum. One of my favorite concerts ever.
