About

Boys Like Girls are a pop-rock band that formed in 2005. The quartet skyrocketed up the charts with anthemic singles like “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk,” with the latter’s accompanying music video featuring High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale. Their two breakthrough singles were followed by a sweeping emo-tinged ballad featuring Taylor Swift, “Two Is Better Than One,” which helped the band’s second album (2009’s Love Drunk) land in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, the band’s frontman Martin Johnson began writing/producing music for everyone from blink-182 to Avril Lavigne, leading to Boys Like Girls going on hiatus (reforming sporadically to tour between 2016 and 2020). In May 2023, the band released “Blood and Sugar,” the first single from their upcoming fourth album and their first new song in over a decade.

  • Wow!

by oXAyeYoItsMeXo on 11/12/09The Norva - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

So I absolutely loved this show. I didn't get to see Vrsa Emerge play, but everyone else was amazing. I came to specifically see The Maine, and they definitely delivered. Also Cobra Starship was hype and definitely got the crowd involved whether you were a fan or not! Boys Like Girls made for a great finale! They played all of their best songs.. had a pretty awesome drum solo performance, and for their last song they had some of the crowd on stage. The lead singer also jumped into the crowd and crowd surfed. Totally unexpected, but awesome

  • Really good show!

    by JEM8 on 11/12/09The Norva - NorfolkRating: 4 out of 5

All of the bands were awesome! Cobra Starship and Boys like Girls really put on a good performance! It was pretty awesome. The timing of the sets was great. The opening acts didn't take too long and that was great b/c some of them last forever. All of the acts were really good. It was a great show but the ticket prices were too high! But beware there were a lot of teenage girls screaming and it kinda hurt my ears!

  • Amazing!!!

by TheMaine on 11/12/09The Norva - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

VersaEmerge wasn't that good, but Rocket to the Moon was amazing. I loved the Maine. Cobra Starship had the best showmanship, but Boys Like Girls had the most real emotion.

  • ZOMG COBRA AND BLG

by Kersten on 11/12/09The Norva - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

It was one of the best shows ive been to, i loved versa emerge as well as the maine, not so much rocket to the moon but they were still good, but ZOMG Cobra was the best !!! and Boys like girls was so interactive!!! i loved it.

  • Boys Like Girls w/Cobra Starship unforgettable!!!!

by evilbuu on 11/12/09The Norva - NorfolkRating: 4 out of 5

IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!! I highly recommend seeing all of the bands that played. I think Cobra Starship was the best!!!!

  • Cobra + BLG = most amazing concert ever

by BaloogaWhalesAreCool on 11/11/09House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

All of the opening bands were awesome, which has to be a first ever. Cobra Starship really knows how to get everyone excited and Gabe was amazing as always. Then, Boys Like Girls played all of their best songs and it was really cool how Martin stayed after to sign people's stuff and take pictures with them.... eventhough that it was in the middle of a ton of pushing screaming girls. If these bands ever were to tour again with each other, I would totally reccommend that anyone should go see them.

  • lost in love

by careeloves on 11/10/09House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

this is the third time I have personally seen the band Boys Like Girls and the second time in The House of Blues, I have to say that they never dissapoint. The band tries to be as personal as you can get with a sold out show, even having the stage man Martin Johnson jump into the crowd. After the show he stayed and signed autographs and took pictures as well. The opening bands were pretty good the only one I didnt necessarily care for was versaemerge, but thier still pretty new and people were too loud to really hear or enjoy thier music.

  • Boys like Girls? Woah what a concert...

by epoH on 11/9/09Rocketown - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I'm not a huge huge fan of Boys like Girls, but, oh my gosh, they sure do know how to please a crowd! With the lead singer creating a mosh pit for us and then letting us rush the stage on The Great Escape, it was the most epic concert I've ever been to! Not to mention him getting the techie people to throw us water in the middle of the show! That was nice! The way they opened the show with I've Gotta Feelin' and merged it perfectly into Love Drunk was amazing! And Martin's voice was so dead on pitch! The other bands with them were great too, and over all it was a show you'll kick yourself for missing! I just don't think I'll get over NOT ONLY being able to jump the fence passed the security who worked so hard to keep us in line, but the fact that they CARRIED me over and helped me on stage! HAHAHA It was just a moment to remember. Being ON STAGE with Boys Like Girls during the most epic song ever created looking out onto the crowd is something I'll never forget it.

  • more information..

Would have liked to known the other bands performing..

  • Boys Like Girls was forgettable!

We bought Meet and Greet passes for $100 each (4 tickets). The instructions told us to arrive prior to 4:30. We were not given the passes until after 5. The band did not sign anything (the instructions were to bring a small item for them to sign). I would not recommend wasting money on a meet and greet with this band. Cobra Starship did sign items and took pictures with their fans.

  • What a night!

by ErrkaSweetPea on 11/9/09CLUB NOKIA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Everything about this night was awesome, I loved all the bands (well except I missed VersaEmerge) and everyone was full of energy. Club Nokia was an interesting venue that I wouldn't mind going to again. I wish I was the first 500 so I could be in the pit but once I started singing and dancing it didn't even matter anymore. I need more nights like these!!!

  • BLG WAS AWESOME!!!!!

by TACO27 on 11/8/09House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

I have been out to see Boys Like Girl 2 other time and they haven't let me down yet. Their performance was amazing. A Rocket to The Moon, and The Maine were also kick ass. Flying to Orlando for the weekend was definitely worth it.

  • by Anonymous on 11/8/09House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 4 out of 5

Great show overall, high energy. Only drawback, save your money and don't get the early entry tickets. Yes, we did get in ahead of general admission, but after about 50-60 meet-and-greets ahead of us. Also, once all the general admission people came in, they just pushed up to the front anyway. So I could have saved some money and not paid for early admission. The show itself was great; The Maine and Cobra Starship were better than I expected; Rocket To The Moon was average; Versaemerge was pretty good too. At the end of Boys Like Girls, they actually let a crowd of people join them on stage, and they went down into the crowd themselves. (Security must have loved that!).

  • by smellisrn on 11/8/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand PrairieRating: 4 out of 5

ATL was great! We the Kings rocked it, and Cobra Starship was my favorite act!!!

  • by mrsribbeck on 11/8/09House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 4 out of 5

Good concert, would definitely pay the extra money to get in early. We were on the second level, in front of railing. It got very annoying with the little teenage girls trying to push their way in front of us. Only downfall was the waiting while they switched over bands and tore down equipment. Boys Like Girls was the best performance of the night by far!

  • by yoda898 on 11/8/09CLUB NOKIA - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

Great Concert, but I was mainly there for Cobra Starship...who turned out to be GREAT!!!!
