About

Boys Like Girls are a pop-rock band that formed in 2005. The quartet skyrocketed up the charts with anthemic singles like “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk,” with the latter’s accompanying music video featuring High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale. Their two breakthrough singles were followed by a sweeping emo-tinged ballad featuring Taylor Swift, “Two Is Better Than One,” which helped the band’s second album (2009’s Love Drunk) land in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, the band’s frontman Martin Johnson began writing/producing music for everyone from blink-182 to Avril Lavigne, leading to Boys Like Girls going on hiatus (reforming sporadically to tour between 2016 and 2020). In May 2023, the band released “Blood and Sugar,” the first single from their upcoming fourth album and their first new song in over a decade.

  • Boys Like Girls was FABULOUS!!!

    by Eech on 11/15/09Clutch Cargo's - PontiacRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely great concert... loved all the bands. Venue was excellent... nice feel... nice crowd. It was an incredibly POSITIVE experience... Lord knows we need one in Michigan these days. Tons of energy, and the bands were super friendly... hanging out for photos and obviously appreciative of their fans. A bunch of great guys (and a couple of girls!). Only problem was the way the VIP passes were handled. Very confusing... go get in line, get out of line, get back in another line... end result was great. Just need to get the initial process smoothed out. I'll totally be back for another show and bring more friends. Great Job!

The concert at Clutch Cargo's was probably the best concert I have ever been to! Even though the meet and greet could have been organized better, it was still absolutely amazing!

  • Cobra Starship was amazing

    by NoHa on 11/15/09Clutch Cargo's - PontiacRating: 5 out of 5

The Show was amazing, th original reason for me going was just to see VersaEmerge, Cobra Starship, and Boys Like Girls but it turns out that I really like A rocket to the Moon, and The Maine now. It was a great show and if I had the chance to go again I would.

  • wow great concert!

they were amazing live, and really friendly towards the audience!

  • Good show. Poor lighting

    by Faby26 on 11/15/09The Pageant - St LouisRating: 3 out of 5

The show was great. The sound was great. The lighting was poor, because the whole show was back lit! They had an amazing light show, but no spot lights. It was hard to see the band. It was tooo smokey. After a couple hour of band it was hard to breath. NO SMOKING PLEASE!

  • pretty good...

There were some issues with sound, but otherwise, the Boys Like Girls concert was great. I had no idea who the first band was, but Rocket to the Moon, the Maine, Cobra Starship, and, of course, Boys Like Girls were awesome. For sure going to see them again...

  • by Anonymous on 11/14/09The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing and all the bands were great! The Maine was by far my favorite but Cobra Starship put on a really great show as well! The place was PACKED but it was definitely unforgettable.

  • Boys Like Girls was amazing!!!

    by Kimberlie14 on 11/14/09The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Boys Like Girls really care about there fans. They did they meet and greet and let us have photos with them and gave us autogrphed posters. They played a lot of great songs and got the crowd into it. At the end they let fans come on stage and took pictures with a lot of the fans. They truly are a great band and I recommend them to everyone.

  • This show was unbelievable!!

by Anonymous on 11/14/09The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

The concert started a bit early, so we didn't get to see Versaemerge, but we did see the ending of A Rocket To The Moon and they were really good. Then what I wanted to see most was The Maine, and they TORE THE STAGE UP!! After them was Cobra Starship, and I think they had the most visual effects and appearance out of everybody. And the main event, Boys Like Girls was okay, but not the highlight of my night.

  • A-freakin-mazing!

so the whole show was great i was in the back but for cobra starship and boys like girls i was front row..had an annoying guy behind me that ended up making it so gabe hit me in the face when he jumped into the crowd but oh well stuff happens lol boys like girls were great loved how they had the crowd come on stage for the last song if you are trying to figure out whether you should go or not you totally should :)

  • Cobra Starship was the best!

by crissaaaaaa on 11/13/09The Norva - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

I've been seeing Cobra Starship the past few years and they have never failed to amaze me. if you are a new comer to their music you will love it because most of their set list consists of music from their new cd Hot Mess. Boys Like Girls put on a great show, although I'm not a huge fan I was very impressed. and they did a lot of old music from their first cd so I enjoyed it. The Maine was just amazing! They sounded great! a rocket to the moon and versa emerge sounded great. I felt a little bad for them because no one was really into their show, but they were good. Versa Emerge sounded great live!

  • Entire show was great-all bands!!!

by KendaB on 11/13/09Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

Love Cobra Starship thought they were awesome and never saw Boys Like Girls before but would again they put on a great show. The Main rocked and so did Rocket to the Moon. I would go to see all of these bands again anytime...loved Revolution Live great views from anywhere in club...AWESOME night!

  • Cobra Starship and Boys Like Girls were awesome!

    by runninggoddess21 on 11/13/09The Norva - NorfolkRating: 4 out of 5

I never heard of The Maine or Rckt 2 Moon but they were great starting bands. The vocalist for Rckt 2 Moon had an excellent voice and The Maine put on a great show. I missed Vrsa Emrg while waiting for tickets. Cobra Starship was the best! They knew how to put on a show and were truly entertaining. They were by far my favorite band. Boys like Girls put on a great show and really made it spectacular by allowing a lot of the concert goers up on stage! What a security risk! That was really cool! I don't know too many bands that take risks like that. Love to go again, think the guys were great~!

  • Cobra Starship was sooo amazing!

    by Fogus89 on 11/13/09The Norva - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

I will never forget this show. Im pretty sure my heart skipped a beat when i first saw Cobra Starship walk onto stage. all bands put on an amazing show and I would pay money to go see this same performance again! LOVED IT!!!

  • Boys Like Girls and Guest Were Amazing!!

Oh my gosh. Boys Like Girls, The Maine, Cobra Starship, VersaEmerge, and A Rocket To The Moon were AMAZING!!! They were so interactive with the crowd. And they all loved taking pictures. I would LOVE to see them again

  • Awesome Boys Like Girls Show

    by wvrsof6 on 11/12/09The Norva - NorfolkRating: 4 out of 5

We saw the Op presents Boys Like Girls w/ Cobra Starship, The Maine, A Rocket To the Moon, and Versaemerge show last night at the Norva in Norfolk, VA. The show was great and it was nice to see 5 bands for one ticket price. All of the bands sounded wonderful....Versaemerge sounds similar to Paramore. The only problem I had was with the sound. Everything sounded great until Boys Like Girls took the stage. Their sound people cranked the bass up sooo loud that it was hard to hear anything over the boom. Other than that, they put on a great show. Make sure you get to the venue that this tour performs at on time...they actually started about 5 minutes early!

  • Best Concert EVER!!

    by Sammy345 on 11/12/09The Norva - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

I had such a fun time at this concert, that I actually both laughed and cried at times! The bands were so excited to play, that they sounded better live, and they encouraged people to dance, headbang, and jump around. I was so energized and exhilerated, so I did all of the above! I nearly managed to get on stage, with the help of a security guy, but he just set me down on the opposite side of the security-separater thing. But whatever, because after the show, I met nearly all of the bands! Everyone was so patient and sweet with their fans, especially while they stood in the rain and signed stuff and took pictures! :D

  • My Daughters loved this show
