About

Boys Like Girls are a pop-rock band that formed in 2005. The quartet skyrocketed up the charts with anthemic singles like “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk,” with the latter’s accompanying music video featuring High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale. Their two breakthrough singles were followed by a sweeping emo-tinged ballad featuring Taylor Swift, “Two Is Better Than One,” which helped the band’s second album (2009’s Love Drunk) land in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, the band’s frontman Martin Johnson began writing/producing music for everyone from blink-182 to Avril Lavigne, leading to Boys Like Girls going on hiatus (reforming sporadically to tour between 2016 and 2020). In May 2023, the band released “Blood and Sugar,” the first single from their upcoming fourth album and their first new song in over a decade.

I thought the show was really good. I enjoyed it and would definetly go see them in concert again. They performed really well and so did all the other bands that played.

  • BOYS LIKE GIRLS WAS OUTSTANDING

This show was absolutely incredible, outstanding, amazing, there is not enough words to describe how i feel about this concert. The bands were all amazing I enjoyed this show so much! I would go back and see them again any time. This was my second time at the Starland Ballroom and every time I go it keeps getting better!

  • Down right outstanding

  • First Alternative Rock concert and I must go again

by itsMG on 11/26/09Nokia Theatre Times Square - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I was little nervous because it was my first alternative rock/pop rock concert and I didn't know what to expect. I really went for Boys Like Girls and Cobra Starship, but I enjoyed ALL the bands! BLG and CS are AHH-mazing performers and really know how to rally up the crowd! Plus I didn't know prior to this event that pretty much wherever you sit/stand in the Nokia Theatre, it's great!

Concert was so much fun! I had the best time ever!!! =D

  • Boys Like Girls rocked

by DrEMD on 11/25/09Nokia Theatre Times Square - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

The Maine was weak to say the least. Had never seen Cobra Starship before, they rocked. This was the absolute best Boys like Girls show I have seen. They really rocked. Great mix of new and old stuff. Tons of energy. These guys really know how to put on a show!!! First time at Nokia, great venue

  • Amazing night!

by sammyeatworld on 11/25/09Nokia Theatre Times Square - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

This was a GREAT lineup. My only criticism is that the line was so long that by the time a lot of people were finally let in, the show had already started. Aside from that, it was great. Highlights included Leighton Meester making a surprise appearance to sing Good Girls Go Bad with Cobra Starship and Boys Like Girls inviting fans onstage!

  • Most unforgettable night!!!

by FTSKourtney on 11/25/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand PrairieRating: 5 out of 5

It was amazing. The Hit was first in the lineup. That was the first time I had heard of them and I loved it from the first moment. Next on the lineup was VersaEmerge. I'm not the biggest fan of female singers but I thought they did an excellent job. After that The Friday Night Boys took the stage in their fat costumes. Their performance was what got me pumped for the rest of the night. I loved them. Then it was A Rocket to the Moon who is one of my favorite bands. Their performance was excellent and I enjoyed it thoroughly. After them it was The Maine which is my all time favorite band. They were by far my favorite performance of the night. Then it was We The Kings. I loved how they were more interactive with the crowd, making us do the worlds biggest wave. Next it was Cobra Starship. I loved their performances and Gabe has great stage presence. I liked how they finally turned on the big screen. After that was All Time Low which is my second favorite band. They made my night when they played Jasey Rae which is my all time favorite old song of theirs. Then it was Boys Like Girls. They were absolutely amazing. At the end when they got everyone to rush the stage was a great way to end their concert. They were excellent. This concert was my first concert ever and I'm so glad that I got a chance for it to be where two different tours came together to play one show. It was by far the best night in my existence.

The girls had a great time all the bands were excellent and venue was nice just to far from where we live.

  • The whole show was amazing.

by dbelkin on 11/23/09Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleRating: 5 out of 5

Versaemerge and Rocket to the Moon were very good bands. I never heard of them before so it opened me up to new music. Cobra starship blew the crowd away, The Maine was fantastic, and Boys Like Girls rocked. They got the crowd excited and played my favorite songs. It got a little crazy at times but you should expect that. They played an even amount of new songs and old songs. It was a great experience.

  • Boys LIke Girls was awesome....

by ciera on 11/23/09Northern Lights - Clifton ParkRating: 5 out of 5

Even though this was my first concert I had the best time of my life. All bands were great. Especially Boys like girls... Amazing...

  • This show was great

by Mrys on 11/23/09The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

I saw the OP presents tour twice, in Denver and Philadelphia and it was absolutely amazing both times. The Maine is really good live, I became a Cobra Starship fan after seeing them the first time, and Boys Like Girls is completely undeniable, even for people who don't think they like their music. They all have a great live show and you'll like them even more after seeing them! I'd absolutely recommend these bands to anyone. They're all great anywhere but the difference of venue was definitely noticeable. The bands all seemed to have more energy in Philadelphia but they weren't lacking in Denver or anything. The only piece of advice I have is that if you aren't a big fan of being pushed and crowdsurfed over, the pit is not the place for you during these bands.

  • Amazing Show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
