About

Boys Like Girls are a pop-rock band that formed in 2005. The quartet skyrocketed up the charts with anthemic singles like “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk,” with the latter’s accompanying music video featuring High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale. Their two breakthrough singles were followed by a sweeping emo-tinged ballad featuring Taylor Swift, “Two Is Better Than One,” which helped the band’s second album (2009’s Love Drunk) land in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, the band’s frontman Martin Johnson began writing/producing music for everyone from blink-182 to Avril Lavigne, leading to Boys Like Girls going on hiatus (reforming sporadically to tour between 2016 and 2020). In May 2023, the band released “Blood and Sugar,” the first single from their upcoming fourth album and their first new song in over a decade.

A rocket to the moon, The Maine, and Versaemerge were unforgettable. oh my god. I will never forget

  • BoysLikeGirls meet n' gree; NOT WORTH IT.

    by 123jordan456 on 11/23/09Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was amazing. I mean how could it not be? Boys Like Girls, The Main, and Cobra Starship, unbelieveable. One thing that was very disappointing was the Boys Like Girls Meet and Greet. It said that we got to meet with them, talk, take pictures and bring something of ours to get signed. We did one of those things. First, we had to wait 2 extra hours (no one ever told us why) in the freezing cold, and after waiting extra 2 hours, all we got to do was take a picture; and we were rushed to. No autograph, no 'meet and greet!' NOT WORTH $100 ($75 after ticket)

  • BLG were awesome as usual.

by FansMomma on 11/23/09Crocodile Rock - AllentownRating: 4 out of 5

All the bands rocked. Crocodile Rock could have organized a little better. We were instructed to arrive no later than 4:00 with VIP tickets and late arrivals would not be permitted to get in the Meet and Greet. We waited outside in the rain until after 5:00 until we were taken in. Also we were told we could bring a small item to get autographed, we were pushed along and really not able to get autographs, we were given a pre-signed poster. Overall like the small intimate venue.

  • BOYS LIKE GIRLS WAS AMAZING.

by AshleyyyVictoriaaa on 11/22/09The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

All the bands were great! Cobra starship always has really cool lighting at their shows. I love how boys like girls always interact with their fans at the concerts. The Electric Factory is kept clean and organized. I wish the staff was a little friendlier though.

  • best concert of my life.

meeting boys like girls was amazing. dont ask why, but me and my friend pinched martin johnson's butt at the meet & greet. HAHA. concert was awesome. all those bands rocked! we were right next to the curtain and saw people from the bands just come out and chill, watch the bands that were on. AWESOME. during the meet and greet, martin said to stay on the sides and we'd be able to come on stage. so we stayed in the front row on the side the whole time, and during the last song martin said he wanted people to come on stage. we DARTED backstage and got on. it was AMAZINGGGGG. ive never been to a better concert in my life and i can't wait to see boys like girls again.

The opening bands took too long, and it was about 2 hours into the actual show when Boys Like Girls came on, and by then, people were getting tired and left before the whole show was even over.

  • by Alex32 on 11/22/09The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 4 out of 5

Very good concert. Did not know the two opening bands but they were really good nonetheless. I had a lot of fun even when I was packed so tightly to other people due to the rushing crowd after the first band played. The Maine and Boys Like Girls were definitely the best bands there. I loved that Boys Like Girls played some of their old songs like "Thunder" and "The Great Escape". First standing concert ever and was definitely an awesome experience. Would definitely go again. Highly recommended.

Every time i see Boys Like Girls, they make their opening acts feel special. Also, they change it up each time I see them, making each concert unique and exciting! I have never been disappointed when seeing them, and i will continue to support their amazing talents as long as they are around.

  • Boys Like Girsl was awesome!

I took my daughter and her friends to see this concert for her Sweet 16 celebration and we ALL had an amazing time. Every group that played was awesome and had great performances! This night was definitely an unforgettable one for all of the girls.

  • Boys Like Girls were amazing!!!

    by phillydude12345 on 11/22/09The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

It started off slow. I didn't really like the opening bands. When Boys Like Girls came on, the real party started. They played great and definitely incorporated the crowd in their set. The bassist came down to teach us how to mosh and then he crowd surfed back to the stage. i grabbed his ass while trying to push him to towards the stage. At the end they got like 20 people from the crowd to go onstage and it climaxed when Martin (the singer) stage dived onto the crowd. He jumped in front of all little girls lol. i grabbed his hand to try to pull him up.

  • Ohmygod.

  • COBRA STARSHIP > everyone else :]

by PaigeJRCD on 11/22/09Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleRating: 4 out of 5

So i travelled to the dirty jerz to see my favorite band (cobra) and some other pretty decent bands like the maine, a rocket to the moon, and, oh yeah, the main band, Boys Like Girls. they were all good live, the maine moreso then rocket to the moon. mosh pits were pretty much under control. doors opened an hour later than stated, however, which i was not pleased about seeing as how it was only 30 degrees out and i had no coat (because it gets OD hot in concerts, and i thought i could manage waiting outside for an hour. which i could. 2 was not fun). umm, anyway, back to my main point. cobra, even if you don't particularly love their music like i do, always puts on a great show. this is my third time seeing them. always very energetic, colorful, and really great at hyping the crowd up. i fall in love with them everytime i see them. most bands i get sick of if i see them too often. not cobra. theres a reason weezer would love to go on tour with them. you need to check them out. seriously. love love LOVE them. oh, and another con to the concert... everyone there was basically 16 or younger and a girl... i'm almost 20.

  • Meet and greet

    by Sherwood123 on 11/22/09Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleRating: 3 out of 5

The meet and greet for BLGs was a waste of time and money. Very rushed and barley got to look at the guys. I saw them for thirty seconds tops then my friends who wernt VIP smoked a cigarette wit brian I didn't very mad not worth 100$. Also starland overpacked itself to crowded

  • Boys like girls and cobra starship rocked!!!

Concert was awesome.....all the groups were great.....would love to see them again

  • awesome!!!

by shinyxrawr on 11/21/09Crocodile Rock - AllentownRating: 5 out of 5

The show was the best!!EEEEE!!! I can't say enough about how great it was.

  • by Anonymous on 11/21/09Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleRating: 4 out of 5

I thought the venue itself was pretty awesome. I also thought parking was well priced. The only problem really was the line itself and waiting outside in the cold for an hour and a half. But the waiting was definitely worth it!

  • by OliveOils on 11/21/09Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleRating: 5 out of 5

The Boys Like Girls' concert was unbelievable... I have never been to a concert that was so amazing. Boys Like Girls brought so much to the stage that many other bands do not. They rocked the house. It is definitately a night that I will remember. If you like their music... I definately recommand it because for sure you will enjoy yourself. =]

  • LOVE SO MUCH

by KathleenTara on 11/21/09Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleRating: 5 out of 5

  • Best Show Since Blink 182

by WhoeverSheIs on 11/21/09Crocodile Rock - AllentownRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first show at Croc Rock, and it was amazing It was a smaller venue, and all the bands were there to have a good time. Martin from Boys Like Girls was so theatrical. This was my first BLG show and it won't be my last. Cobra was there to have a good time. Good mix of songs. Gabe can really work the crowd. I bought tickets to the show to see The Maine. They have grown so much as a band. Meeting them after the show was unforgettable. A Rocket to the Moon's lead singer NIck Santino's voive is incredible! The show was great, but make sure you stick around after the show cuz all the bands are just hanging out ny their buses or at the merch table. BLG and Cobra Starship are big bands, but they were still their to sign autographs and take pics.
