    Boston Pops made us smile!

by priscillagoodbody on 11/18/13Centennial Hall - Tucson

What a great night! Music was so well-played, and the orchestra was clearly having fun with it themselves. There was a good selection of music, too. The only thing I could have done without was the sing-along. Most of the audience seemed to love it though.

Truly once in a lifetime Tucson opportunity

    by Jeff1802 on 11/18/13Centennial Hall - Tucson

For those that missed this first ever performance of America's orchestra, I feel for you. What a magnificent performance and my salutations to the organizers / sponsors for bringing this level of musical art to our beautiful community. Thanks and hope this professional level of entertainment continues. Just an old retired Marine that stands for all Souza played music!

Boston Pops: a first in Tucson!

by tympanist on 11/18/13Centennial Hall - Tucson

The concert was spectacular. Mr Lockhart, who uses a hand-held mike to provide background, programmed mainly American composers, with excerpts and shorter numbers rather than full symphonies. The mix of "classical" and "pop" was appealing to all ages. His chosen centerpiece, Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue," was performed flawlessly and inventively by Mr. Michael Chertock. The conductor obviously loves what he does, and participates in humanizing his ensemble in fanciful, humorous ways. The traditional singalong at the end ensured audience involvement. Standing ovations bracketed a popular patriotic Sousa march. No one left UA's Centennial Hall unsatisfied, I hope the Pops returns to the Southwest.

The Boston Pops was one of the most entertaining events we have attended. Music selection was diverse and so well performed - everything from classical to rock. We couldn't stop talking about the performance!

Christmas Spirit springs forward wtih Boston Pops

by CTDAUGHTER on 5/16/13Webster Bank Arena - Bridgeport

What a fantastic night! The music was amazing and the whole evening really brings out your Christmas Spirit. The concert was my Christmas Present to my parents, and i could not have come up with a better gift. Even Santa joined in on the fun. One of the best concerts i have ever been too. Hoping the Pops come back so we can make it part of our family Christmas traditions.

by POSJeanne on 12/10/12Webster Bank Arena - Bridgeport

Always wanted to see the Boston Pops and since I'm moving to Atlanta next year, I thought that this might be my last chance. LOVED THEM - WISH THAT THEY HAD PLAYED FOR ANOTHER HOUR!

Boston Pops, festive and in the mood!

by mofacts2 on 12/10/12Webster Bank Arena - Bridgeport

Kurt Lockhardt and the musicans are amazing and ever so talented. We enjoyed the new twist with adding the Five By Design group. We have attended the Pops in years past at Webster Bank Arena, but this year we were shocked at poor attendence, I believe there was very little PR done, compared to years past. Also, it adds up quickly, $50 per ticket, once you pay processing fee and then you get hit with $15 fee to park...no, not valet parking or anything special, $15 per car just seemed outrageous to us and could steer folks away.

    Boston Pops

by Juliep58 on 12/10/12Webster Bank Arena - Bridgeport

Sorry to say, we were unable to attend the concert. We spent the evening in the emergency room. Too bad ----- we were really looking forward to going. We had seen the Pops Holiday concert a few years back and really enjoyed it. We would recommend it highly.

Always a great start to the Christmas Season!

by TomCT on 12/10/12Webster Bank Arena - Bridgeport

After a two or three year absence, the Pops returned to the Arena at Harbor Yard (Webster Bank Arena) for their annual Christmas concert. It is something not to be missed. They sound amazing, and hearing your favorites live, performed by the Boston Pops is amazing. We have attended each year and plan to do so again next year. Hopefully they will return. It was disappointing to see that it was not even close to a sell out. However, I was told that the local Greater Bridgeport Symphony also held their holiday concert on the same night which drew some of the same audience.

A great holiday show. Loved the edition of 5 by Design. My only complaint is the volume could have been higher.

    Another Magical Afternoon

by ClassicalJazz on 12/5/12Tilles Center Concert Hall - Greenvale

Magnificent holiday concert by the Pops. Five by Design was a fun addition to this year's lineup. As always, the concert was a bit short, but time flies when you are having fun. Can't wait for next year's show!
