    Less than what I expected...

by RosedeCompass on 6/26/11The Palladium Ballroom - Dallas

The hype man was too aggressive and the crowd did not respond well to him. They didn't play much 70's music...Can anyone tell me why the DJ played Tupac? Wearing the 70's attire was fine but there was no place to sit when your feet started hurting. Half of the ppl there did not wear 70's clothes. They were in regular street clothes. If I had to do it all over again I would NOT have purchased the tickets for this.

    Fun night

by lodicnam on 6/20/11The Palladium Ballroom - Dallas

Had a good time. DJ played good old school music. But when Bootsy finally started playing, the sound techs turned the speakers up full blast! It was way too loud! Our ears were ringing and my started hurting. I had to stuff tissue paper and put my finger in my ears to enjoy the music! Also, we noticed that some of the people there started smoking joints! you could see the smoke rising on the dance floor and you could definitely smell it. I notified security, but they did nothing.

    Worth every penny

by Narchi on 6/20/11The Palladium Ballroom - Dallas

I took my 17 year old and he came away totally amazed. Being a drummer and producing music tracks he found a new love for real instruments and the solo's that cannot be recreated by a computer. Bootsy and the unity band did not disappoint, Blackbyrd's version of Cosmic Slop was a early highlight the horn section was on point and background singers held their own.

    Bootsy brought it!

by LavenderBlue on 6/19/11The Palladium Ballroom - Dallas

Boosty came down from the mothership and brought the funk to Dallas Palladium for Tom Joyner’s 70’s party. Part of the "FUNK U-NITY" 13 plus band includes greats such as: Bernie Worrell - keyboards (P-Funk), Frankie Kash - drums (P-Funk), Blackbyrd - guitar (P-Funk). Truly Funkalicious!

    Lost in Space

    by BiggMo13 on 6/17/11Warehouse Live - Houston

First half of the show was amazing, high intensity and very entertaining. The second half of the show was made up of 1 really really really slow jam that seemed to take days but in actually lasted about an hour. That hour was followed about another hour of talking and self promoting but little music. Crowd loved the first half - toward the end he was getting boo-es. Don't know if he recovered because I left.

    Bootsy

by Scurb on 6/8/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

I was disappointed because Bootsy didnt play a bass solo. It was clear there was something wrong with his guitar...but overall I enjoyed his showmanship!!! Dr.Cornell West and Snoop Dog were great!! I would love to see Bootsy again ...hopefully he'll have all the kinks worked out with his performance

    No Chairs Necessary!

by FunkyWhiteGirl on 6/8/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

The only fault in this event was the chairs that they put out. There was no need, we trip on them all through the night but then Bootsy of course made it funky and started walking on them through the audience using us as is support. IT WAS AWESOME! I am going to try to make his show in Rochester, NY since I happen to be in town. Ain't no party like a funk show party... I have been spoiled for life! <3

Disappointing TM Stevens didn't play with his Band

by Prettyman on 6/7/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

I was expecting TM Stevens to play with his band shockazooloo. Was disappointed that I did not get to see TM Stevens open. Bootsy played all of his old favorites. He only played one song off of his new CD! Well 2 if you count Cornell West spoken word part. Snopp Dogg did Gin and Juice. Bootsy played about 90 + minutes. Quite understandable why Bootsy did not play his new CD. Not much party stuff on there! TM played Jimi Hendrix's song Purple Haze. Not a bad show.OH one of the girl singers had legs for days!

    We Want The Funk!

by Anonymous on 6/6/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

Great show! Started on time. Rocked for 2 1/2 hours. Surprise guests Flava Flave and Snoop Dog! Totally outrageous! Bootsy was in great form. The Funk Never Stopped! Good old fashioned, well produced concert. Obviously well rehearsed and planned out. Great costume changes! Keep the Funk Alive!

Bootsy with an all star band

by realbass1 on 6/6/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

The show was so good I would see it again in the near future. Bootsy and his 14-peice band did songs from his new album "The Funk Capital of the World, Bootsy's Rubber Band, Gearge Clinton & P-Funk and some cover songs. This was the first show of the tour and they were on "The One".

    Funky but not enough Bootsy!!

by Funkee1 on 6/5/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

BOOTSYS BACK BABY!!! The band killed, loved TM Stevens, but he was buried in the back of the show, couldn't see his killer bass....but it is Bootsy's show....maybe that's what's up there. Getting back to the real funk... Purple Haze was amazing...Blackbyrd was sick...and the Sly Stone stuff was off the chain... Mad funk from Razor, Bernie and Blackbyrd...the horns were killer too. What didn't bring the funk was that guy who introduced the band with the pink boa on...audience didn't dig it--wasn't funky...BORING!! Lose that, give us more Bootsy baby!!! this was the first show of the tour, hopefully the funk will tighten up as it goes...go see it, you'll get to see the founders of FUNK!!! :)

    Bootsy's Back

by FrootsyCollins on 6/5/11Club Nokia - Los Angeles

Bootsy Collins still has it. He performs many of his old favorites, with some new great songs off of his new album (although he keeps the new stuff to a minimum), and his new backup band is great. I was very happy to see that he was able to get Bernie Worrell and Kash Wady to play with him.

Outstanding. It was an evening of remarkable talent, insight, and wit. Bootsy Collins shared stories of his rise to success and debuted his new music to a receptive and engaged audience.
