Womack & Company: OFF THE CHAIN!!

by LENNIH on 11/9/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

Gerald Alston of the Manhattans completely stole the show, but Miss Millie, Bobby Womack and Bobby Blue Bland didn't disappoint at all!! It's hard to believe a troup of 'old schoolers' still had THAT much left in the tank!! I'd never seen Millie Jackson perform before...probably won't ever miss her again if she's in the area!! Womack sang his hits with the same fervor heard on the original recordings and "BBB" was as solid as a 79 year old man can be!! Great show all the way around!!

Bobby Blue Bland was the bomb. He was GREAT!

by Trace48 on 11/9/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

The concert was good. Bobby Blue Bland and the Manhattans were GREAT! Nokia needs to work on their sound system more in order to bring out the artist voice. It seems as though the band mics were up and the singer mics were down. Millie Jackson was good, but I was a little disappointed in Bobby Womacks performance.

by SMaxie on 11/8/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

The show was wonderful, It was so good to see Bobby Blue Bland, it is amazing that he is still asgood as he was twenty years ago, and the Mahattans brought back alot of forgotten memories. My girl Millie is still the same diva, When I grow up I want to be just like her ( I'm 53 yers old now). And my boy Bobby Wormack what can I say The name of the concert was just that ..LEGENDS They are all Legends and I am feel privilaged to have been there to see them one more time

    Bobby Bland still the bomb

by Inglemon on 11/8/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

Bobby Bland although the kick off act was in rare form still going great after over 6 decades doing the blues, Manhatten's were great and Gerald's tribute to Sam Cooke was sensational. Mille's show is dated. Bobby Womack still doing it also

Bobby Womack, etc. evoked great memories!

by J143 on 11/8/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

Overall, all the entertainment was good and the performers in fine form. The only disappointment was that the mic for Bobbie Blue Bland, one of my all time favorites, wasn't working well, so that during the first half of his set, the audience could barely hear him. The Manhattans were great and the lead singer in fine form. Millie Jackson was her irrepressible, outrageous, entertaining self---and in good voice. Bobby Womack finished the evening and was excellent, involving the crowd in his set. The crowd, generally an older group, as the entertainers themselves are older, was very appreciative, and rightly so.

The Legends: Fantastic Old School Concert

by Marki on 11/8/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

At nearly 80, Bobby Blue Bland can still belt out the Blues and the Manhattans brought the house to its feet. Gerald Alston's "A Change is Gonna Come" is worth the price of admission by itself. Millie was her normal outrageous self and "The Poet" was a great closer.

    Legends in Their Times

by CherryHill on 11/8/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

Bobby Bland was just a shell of himself. He was painful to watch and hear. Manhattans were acceptable. Highlight was Gerald Alston's 'Change is Gonna Come. Millie Jackson was her usual outrageous self, in an entertaining way. Bobby Womack just gave a dereadful, unispiring performance as evident by people leaving early.

    What an Awesome Concert

by MsIndependent on 7/30/09James L Knight Center - Miami

I just wanted to share my experience with everyone regarding the show. I had an awesome time. Everyone put on a great act; and for them to be of age now, wow can they move. In my lifetime, I've gone to one concert surrounded with peers of my age. I have gone to several concerts like these. I have an old soul and love listening to and seeing our old skool performers. Their music will last forever.

    Concert was GREAT!

    by Selena1222 on 7/13/09James L Knight Center - Miami

I loved the Concert-I purchased my tickets very early and we were seated on the floor in front of stage. The concert was absolutely amazing! Clarence Carter stil sounds wonderful and Wow, what a stage presence. I loved the Manhattans--they were the biggest surprise to me--Voices sound Great. The solo done singing Change Gone Come (orginally by Sam Cooke) was off the hook! I would definitely pay to see the Manhattans again. Then, came Bobby Womack with that beautiful back-up singer(Bless with such a graceful, amazing voice) --the perfect act to finish the show. It was just Wonderful--I bought the tickets for my husband (he's 47 years old) and really did not think it would be a concert that I would enjoy (I'm 39 years old), but I found myself screaming and yelling and singing along, aloud to the oldies but goodies. I wish I had purchased a second set of tickets--next time I plan on taking my parents and maybe my kids--they love Bobby Womack. GREAT SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Old school, still HOT!

    by MIA2JAX on 7/13/09James L Knight Center - Miami

This concert event was a hit from the time we walked into the event at the Jame L. Knight Center in Miami. Of course traffic was heavy the evening of the event, so we arrived a little late. The songs, music, and hits just kept coming. There was a old school groove that just would not quit. Bobby was great Mel was great Clarence Carter stole the show. I would recommend this to all those who truly enjoy real music. The Manhattans gave a fantastic performance. I wish it ould have gone on and on.

by BlueMajic on 7/13/09James L Knight Center - Miami

No matter when the boys put on show it never forgetable, because they put on a show, they put a S H O W. No matter how old they get it on and popping, they just sound and get better and B E T T E R. No matter how young or old you are I would recommend this event to any and everyone, because they are truly the B E S T.
