A time header sounds great, until you sit through two 30-45 minute change overs between sets. A 7:00 show had the Blues Travelers come on at 9:50! Way too late!!
Great show from Blues Traveler. Extremely talented musicians. I loved the jams and the harmonica in particular. John Popper was obviously not at full strength (he mentioned recent surgery) but still put on quite a show. Spin Doctors were fun but Gin Blossoms were terrible. Sound mix for Gin Blossoms was way off - guitars and drums were so loud you could barely hear the lead vocals. And forget about hearing the backing vocals.
The show started promptly at 6 and was kicked off by the Spin Doctors followed by my favorite the Gin blossoms. They like always blew it up. Blues Traveler finished up one of the greatest nights of Music we have ever attended. Thanks for the show Bob Kelley.
Each band individually put on a great performance. Loved the collaboration between the three bands - Gin Blossoms, Spin Doctors and Blues Traveler. You could tell they really enjoyed touring together. Talented musicians from the 90's still sounding great.
These bands give you an awesome time!! Sounded better than ever!!
Band didn’t sound tight. Popper kept leaving the stage. Couldn’t understand any of the lyrics. Acoustics sucked…. Someone should seriously think about lowering the drums & bass & letting the vocalists’ voice come through.
Had never seen the Blues Travelers in person. Was not sure what to expect. Spin Doctors came on first. followed by the Gin Blossoms and then Blues Travelers. The volume was set way to high for the music venue. Music was distorted and the lyrics were impossible to here over the volume of the band. Made it through the Spin Docters as that was only a 30 minute set. Almost went home in the middle of Gin Blossoms as it was just not good. Stayed until Blues Travelers came on - Made it to the 3rd song and left early..... Was glad I did .... Will take the chance and see them again but next time it will be an outdoor venue. Again way to loud !!
What I thought was the headliner (Blues Traveller) only played about 8-9 songs, which is sort of a drag. Also at one point during the set a purple spotlight was shined at the crowd on the left side for about 5-6 minutes straight, making viewing the show challenging and uncomfortable. I felt like I was at a sobriety checkpoint for that time period of the show. Not fun.
The show was the kind of concert that reminds you why live music is so fun — even if everything isn’t perfect. The energy was high, the bands clearly knew (and loved) their crowd, and the venue made for an awesome backdrop. Let’s start with the good: the venue was top-notch. Easy to navigate, plenty of space, and the kind of atmosphere that made you want to stay and hang out even after the music stopped. The crowd was in great spirits too — dancing, singing, and feeding off the energy on stage. The sound, however, left a bit to be desired. At times, it was hard to make out the vocals, and the balance between instruments was hit or miss depending on where you stood. It wasn’t enough to ruin the night, but it was noticeable. That said, the performers made up for it with their stage presence. They clearly knew what the fans came for, hit all the right notes with the setlist (figuratively, at least), and didn’t drag it out for hours on end. The show wrapped up at a reasonable time — always a bonus for anyone who likes their live music without sacrificing sleep. All in all, it was a fun night. Imperfect sound aside, it was a feel-good, well-paced show in a great space. And honestly, being able to enjoy live music and still be home before midnight? That’s a win in my book.
John Popper is incredible to watch and listen to. The openers were wonderful as well! All great performances and lots of nostalgia!
Great show. Great venue. The spin doctors singer does that weird sound in two princes a few times which was cool. Overall a great experience but I believe the venue had a lot to do with it.
Blues Traveler was headlining when it should have been the Gin Blossoms. BT performance was more like a jam session, and they sang other people’s songs more than their own. Run around and Hook sounded good though. I still had fun since the Gin Blossoms were there.
Nice venue very clean comfortable and organized. Got a good deal on my ticket. One thing I would NOT do again is order a BLT from TJ Chumps restaurant next door to the venue. Bacon reminded me of my dogs chews. Other than that very pleasant experience.
Blues traveler played for maybe 40 minutes. And of that, a lot of it was the band jamming to a long song while he was off stage. The downtime between acts was also way too long. I would say there was almost 60/40 playing to set up time. I don't understand why it took so long. If I was to guess at the end he was almost going to cancel so they came up with this scheme to kind of still play. If they would have just come out and said what was going on it would have been better, we're all human. But this show was not good and I would not recommend it or see these acts again.
The Spin Doctors and Blues Traveler were awesome and musically powerful. They involved the audience and got everyone pumped. The Gin Blossoms were dull on stage and did not create excitement.
I was initially thrown for a loop yet still had a great time. Coming out to the Team America: World Police theme song from the South Park powered movie was an interesting choice, but tying Archie Bunker to the MAGA movement just really got my confusion meter set into overdrive. Playing songs from their Four album and Tom Petty classics made for a fantastic set. Long jams, winding solos and guest appearances on guitar and vocals kept me on my feet and entertained throughout. Knowing Poppers past political affiliations didn’t make the American flag and USA hat odd, but I simply couldn’t get past the duality of everything that came outta the gate and it lingered in the back of my mind all night. But maybe that was the point. 🤷🏼♂️
Such a great show! All the bands were stellar and Blues Traveler was beyond amazing. The Rose Pavilion is a great place to see a show. Not only did BT do a lot of there songs they also did some great covers, Tom Petty's Mary Jane's last dance. And members of Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors also cam out and played.
Recently saw Blues Traveler with Spin Doctors and Gin Blossoms. They all were great. Blues Traveler did a song with each of the other bands, love when they do that. It was a grest jam session!
Great show and great venue. Only issue was it ended too soon. Concert length was good, but I could have listened all night.
