Great venue outside. Very warm, soundboard needs some work! Unable to hear harmonica on some songs.
Venue was great. Spin Doctors were fun and lively. Gin Blossom was my favorite and we enjoyed hearing all our old favorites. Then Blues Traveler took the stage. THEY WERE AWFUL. Lead singer repeatedly left the stage for 5 -10 minutes increments while the band played instrumentals....its was horrible. They didn't even play their most popular song. People were leaving the venue early...and we followed. It was beyond disappointing.
3 bands that meshed perfectly together., that sounded great and seemed to have as much fun as their fans! THANKS
Flow entering into venue was challenging, the line entering a single entrance was wrapped around the block. There are multiple entrance/exits at venue that should be utilized, first two opening artists were unable to play to full crowd as most were stuck in line
Bought a group of tickets so we could go with friends. Very high energy. A lot of harmonica and guitar solos. Fantastic drum solo. My husband waited months for this concert and wasn't disappointed, very happy man!
Absolutely loved the venue! GA seating was perfect. Great crowd vibes! All 3 bands were great, and we’ve loved Blues Traveler forever.
I got a tell you Im not super familiar with the catalog of Gin Blossoms and the Spin doctors But I’ll tell you seeing them was the best part of this show. Both were very entertaining and we recognized a lot of their original songs. But we were there to see Blues Traveler. I’ve never been so disappointed in a show before. I have all of their successful albums. Honestly they played two songs I recognized. They burned up a lot of their set with a bass solo, a drum solo and a tribute to Ozzy Osborne. Really?? And that cover was sounded terrible. There was also some rambling about Fred Sanford, his champagne ripple drink and a song about it. What? That’s it in a nutshell. I honestly left the venue thinking, what the hell are they thinking. Fans want to hear your best original stuff. If you can’t play it anymore, don’t tour! The Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors, sounded way better, brighter, more energy and were obviously happy to be performing. If I were them, I drop Blues Traveler like a stone. The crowd had dwindled to less than half two or three songs before Blues Traveler finished their set. I can’t imagine a positive review of their performance. I gotta say people, save your money. If you’re looking to hear all of your Blues Traveler favs, play them on your home system cause you won’t hear them at this show.
Venue is fantastic. Blues Traveler was ho hum. Too much "jamming". Just play your songs.
Well organized and easy in and out. A very pleasant experience!!!
Spin Doctor's and Gin Blossoms were great. Blues Traveler was a little rough.
The venue was a ball room at the Ilani hotel and was well laid out. Spin Dr and Gin Blossoms were amazing
This event was at the Cowlitz ballroom and I do not recommend anybody go see any show at that location ever! The sound is horrible in the setup of the room is so tight you can barely get in between seats! The staff that work there on jerks and not very helpful! Avoid this place at all costs!
I have seen Blues Traveler in the past and was excited to see them again. I was extremely disappointed with their part of the concert. They basically jammed, did solos and sang cover songs from other artists. The roadies kept coming on stage to fix the equipment. Not sure what that was all about. Also through out the concert one group would bring out other artists from the other groups that were playing later (or earlier) and do a song. People came to see BT (and the other two acts) play THEIR songs. The opening act was Spin Doctors and they were fine. The second group was Gin Blossoms and they were very good.
We were highly disappointed! We are concert junkies and this is the worst concert I have ever been to! We went to this concert specifically to see Blues Traveler and they spent more time doing covers and very long instrumentals than singing! Once the instrumentals started, John Popper would walk off the stage as the instrumentals played on for several minutes. They could have done at least 3 more of their own songs instead of filling it with all the instrumentals and covers! Even the song Hook was sung too rapidly with the part he does sings rapidly sung TOO rapidly so you couldn't even understand or sing the words yourself along with him. We will never go to another Blues Traveler concert again!
I paid for a meet and greet which never happened. Blues Travelers only sang three songs, the rest was just the band playing without the singer how stayed backstage two thirds of the time. Very Disappointing
Spin Doctors sounded great. Gin Blossoms turned the treble up to 11 and were sloppy and unbearable to listen to. Blues Traveler and GB must use the same deaf sound guy, because the acoustics were off the charts bad. Popper also kept leaving the stage while they played random jams and covers.
Spin Doctors and Gin Blossoms were real good. I love Blues Traveler, saw them at Red Rocks eight years ago. I was SO disappointed in their performance - they phoned it in. They barely played any of their own music. I had downloaded their set list prior to the show, they did not come close to fulfilling the list. No engagement with the crowd, no encore, no effort. Was it the venue??? Unsure, all I know was there were a lot of disappointed fans. Sorry, just being honest.
I got to see Blues Traveler with Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors. John Popper is sick right now, on a mobile wound vac, and probably shouldn't be out of bed. He was moving a bit gingerly, but he still put out the full juice! Best harmonica player alive is a sight to behold! Worth every penny and more. My only complaint was the VIP pack, but that was more the venue, and beyond control with John being sick. I was able to buy signed merch for the other two bands, but not the headliner I'd actually bought the VIP package for. I hope to see them again with a less truncated set, and hopefully they'll play The Mountains Win Again. Time was a bit pressed with 3 great bands, and they didn't get to it.
We were very excited to see Blues Travelers, along with Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors. The performance started on time, but was delayed throughout due to technical issues. The sound system distorted the music making words inaudible. People left shortly after BT started playing due to the lateness of the performance and sound. Very disappointed and will think twice about booking at the Ilani venue in the future.
Spin Doctors and Gin Blossoms were both great. They sounded good and engaged with the audience. Blues Traveler sounded good when they actually played songs but I didn’t care for the constant long jam sessions. The singer appeared to be very demanding of his road crew as they were on stage fixing or adjusting things several times during the performance. I wasn’t as engaged with this performance and many other patrons left the concert early as a result of these issues.
