About

Blue October are an alternative rock band originally from Houston, Texas. Led by brothers Justin Furstenfeld and Jeremy Furstenfeld and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Delahoussaye since their formation in 1995, Blue October has released 11 studio albums, with their latest, Spinning the Truth Around, split into three volumes unveiled between 2022 and 2024. Following initial chart success from their 2003 single “Calling You,” Blue October’s fourth album Foiled (2006) broke the band into the mainstream with back-to-back platinum-certified singles “Hate Me” and “Into the Ocean.” Foiled became the group’s first effort to chart on the Billboard 200 and kicked off a series of six consecutive Top 10 full-length releases on the Top Rock Albums chart, including No. 1 debuts for Any Man in America (2011) and Home (2016). The band has logged 13 Top 40 singles on the Alternative Airplay chart such as 2008’s “Dirt Room,” 2018’s “I Hope You’re Happy” and 2024’s “Everything We Lost In the Fire."

    Blue October was outstanding!!

    by jorgie2 on 7/19/09Eagles Club/The Rave/Eagles Ballroom - Milwaukee

I was anxiously waiting to see this concert for a long time. My sister saw them once before at The Rave and said it was the best concert she had ever been to. She was right! These guys put on an outstanding show! Their music is so unique, and it was evident that their music touches people because the whole crowd became a part of them during the concert. Like we all became one with the band. I had never witnessed nor been a part of anything like that before. You can tell that this band is ALL about their fans!! As I watched the show, I just melted into the music. I couldn't get enough of watching Justin's performance and listening to the beautiful sound of the electric violin. Kudos to Blue October!! They are my ultimate favorite!!

    Blue October was fantastic

by independentlyhappy on 7/19/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

This is the first concert I have been to in years, and it was worth the wait. The lyrics and music of Blue October are powerful and soulful. At the Hoyt the fans were able to get close to the band and there wasn't a bad spot in the place. I will be going to more Blue October concerts and wish the band much success in the future.

    Blue October Never Fails

by Jayy713 on 7/16/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

I have been listening to this band since I was a freshman in high school, and I'm now going into my third year in college. It's been amazing to follow the band as their sound has changed in some ways, and yet stayed the same in others over the years. I have seen Blue October four times in concert now. And this show was just as amazing as the first show I've seen. The energy given off during their performance was inspirational, and I loved every single moment of the show. Focusing more on the music and the emotion behing it, than on any flashy light show or over-thought performance, the band made me fall in love all over again with what they are all about.

    Love Blue October but....

by AlwaysaCritique on 7/16/09First Avenue - Minneapolis

Saw Blue October at First Avenue in June. The concert was great but wish the lead singer could clean up his songs a bit. His favorite word, F---, gets a little old listening to it over and over. Not sure why the lead singer doesn't like to write happier songs. Must have a really screwed up personal life. That is such a lame excuse though. They're great musicians. They could be top dog if the lead singer wasn't sooo dark and pissed off with his song words. Still love them. Disappointed they didn't play "Calling You" as well "Balance Beam" and "Holler" from their new cd. Also, talk about crappy t-shirt designs. They could sell a ton more of they rehauled them and learned how to better market themselves. I guess that's why they're not the top dogs.

    Blue October rocked Hoyt Sherman!

by Dietz on 7/16/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

My husband and I loved the concert. Hoyt Sherman place was an awesome venue due to its size (not too big). It was extremely hot, but I barely noticed when Blue October was performing because they were so great! I could see them sweating but that did not keep them from performing an awesome show! I've been to several large, big name concerts recently and this concert was better than almost all of them.

    The overall fantastic concert experience!

by SparkyBlue on 7/16/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

In a venue built in the late 1800s, filled with nostalgia, history, and probably a few spirits past - Justin Furstenfeld and Blue October shook the rafters making every other concert I've been to seem more like a television experience. I LIVED this concert. I LIVE this band. I have never loved a band/singer more, and in my 45 years, that's saying a LOT!

    Blue October....Worth every penny

by dsmblee on 7/16/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

Blue October was intense from start to finish. It was one of the best concerts I've seen in a LONG time. Rarely does a band this intense sound as good on stage as they do on radio/cd but Blue October's performance was great.

Blue October was the best I've ever seen!

by krissybabe04 on 7/16/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

This would be the 3rd time I've seen this band live, and they continue to exceed my expectations. Each time is more memorable and more kick-ass than the last! The venue was awesome. Blue October was awesome. Couldn't have asked for a better concert. Oh, and the fact that they played the entire new album and enough of their previous fav songs to fill another album goes to show that the concert was by no means short. AMAZING!

    Blue October- Great as Always

by Babydoll4Ever on 7/16/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

I had been to Hoyt Sherman for graduation, but never for a concert. I thought it would be all right, but after Blue October started to play the acoustics were fantastic. My Fiance' and I had a great time. I'm not quite sure if there wasy any bad seat in the house. Everyone around us was respectful of each other. The music was great. It was a good mix between music and vocals. Usually at a concert you can't hear most of the words, but Hoty Sherman is a great place to hold a concert. I just happened to see that Blue October was playing there. The prices were pretty reasonable also. All in all, it was a fantastic jammin time with a good crowd. I love Blue October.

    Blue October Rocked!

by JenMac on 7/16/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

Blue October put on a great show in Des Moines. They were loud, lively, and even interacted with the crowd. The only problem was the venue. It was an old theater and there wasn't a lot of standing room up front. I assummed we would all be watching the show from our seats untill people started rushing the stage just before B.O. went on. It got a little hot in there as well, but it sounded great and was an AWESOME show!

Blue October was ok... opening band sucked!

by chrisandamee on 7/16/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

I am a huge fan of Blue October, they were good. I wish they would have played more of their old stuff though. The venue was small and extremely hot! We didn't like the opening band at all!!

Blue October is ALWAYS a 'do not miss' event

by sainttraci on 7/16/09First Avenue - Minneapolis

This was my 3rd Blue October concert and in true BO fashion..it was NOTHING short of amazing!! I hope they come to Minneapolis often because I will go every time. Not only do I go because I absolutely love their music, but I find something in them that I rarely see in live shows anymore: TRUE PASSION. They exude it from start to end and you, as an audience member, can feel it. Makes a huge difference in a live musical experience. If they're coming your way, lucky you, get tickets, go...you won't regret it.

    Blue October was fantastic

by CheekymonkeyRLC on 7/16/09Lonestar Pavilion at Sunset Station - San Antonio

In spite of some issues with the sound, the show was incredible! Blue October is one of those rare bands that are just as good live, if not better, than their recorded work. Definitely one of my favorite bands! I love it when Justin tells a little something about the inspiration for the lyrics! This is where the sound issues caused some frustration, but the sound folks seemed to get them ironed out about half way thru the show.

    Blue October was INCREDIBLE!

by Annetta on 7/16/09First Avenue - Minneapolis

This is the 3rd time Ive seen Blue October and, as hard as it is to imagine, each show gets more and more amazing! The energy was INTENSE, the band was AWESOME...they are incredibly talented. We plan to see them each and every time they come to the Twin Cities. I also sincerely hope they continue to play at First Ave, as opposed to Myth..First Ave is far preferable, more comfortable and much more fun to be at!
