  • Blue Man Group a lot of fun

by Anonymous on 9/26/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

We saw BMG last year with the "How to be a Megastar 2.0" show, and had such a great time we had to get tickets to the Civic Theatre show. What BMG does best is music. Their visuals can be amazing, sometimes they are just mildly entertaining. Their comedy is also a lot of fun, except when they go on too long....like the sitting down routine in this show with plates and twinkies. Sorry, that just got tedious and annoying....like 12 minutes worth.

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

This show was well worth the money that i spent. My friends and i had the perfect seats. We could see, hear & feel almost everything. My favorite part was the end, i felt like i was at a rock concert.... you must see it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fun! Purchase floor not balcony seats.

by Chicplus on 9/26/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Had real nice lower balcony seats for the show. When the finale started, my daughter said we should have got floor. Next time! It was fun. Will definitely see them in Vejas during our next trip.

  • BMG Top Notch!

I was an awesome display of color, humor and sound. My family enjoyed it fully and talked about it all the way home. It was my second time seeing the show and I wanted so much to share it with my family. I would only suggest that there be additional viewing monitors on stage to fully see close up the expressions of the BMG to really enjoy the humor that might have been missed seated at a moderate distance.

Thought it was a good show but didn't enjoy all the reading that had to be done. We get enought texting in our everyday life didn't need to go on for so long. Although we are good readers many are not and it was just way too much. Reading was the only thing I heard anyone complain about.

  • BLUE Man Group is UBER giggle-astic!!!!!!

by MoMoSD on 9/26/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

This is the second time my children (9 & 10) have seen this AWESOME show and they laughed and giggled just as HARD as the first time!!!! The show is entertaining, fun and the new parts added are great. If you haven't seen it, GO, GO NOW!!! Straight out the gate, they have you laughing with electronic board messages until the end with the 5 foot (or so) light changing "beach balls" the the audience gets their hands on and send in every direction.

Maybe have the Blue Man's Group visit one the ship or base. Event booth ran out of DVD's. Overall the show was amazing.

  • Blue Man Group (Touring)

by MyGreatDane on 9/26/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Wow, totally entertaining and enjoyable. This is a show for all ages to enjoy and that I recommend. The music is loud, but I didn’t find it to be a problem. The performers were synchronized with the each other and the music. The set design was incredible. Enjoyed the colorful bouncing balls at the end of the show the audience was really into them.

  • Blue Man disappointing

by jimgary on 9/26/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 1 out of 5

After wanting to see Blue Man in Vegas, and not getting the chance I finally saw the touring company in San Diego on Saturday evening. I was completely disappointed. There was not nearly as much music as I had thought, and the skits were more at a high school review level than "professional". I now understand why there were many empty seats at the SD Civic Center, especially on a Saturday night. I will not recommend this show to anyone.

That was a disappointment. We expected much more from this performance. We saw Blue Men on TV and we literary fell in love with this group. We love the music, the singing, the special effects, the original ideas of performers. But the actual performance was completely different. 2/3 of the show was just a mediocre clowns. Not much of a music, no singing at all. However there still was something to see. Some really cool special effects. That's why I gave them 3 stars.

  • I'd see it again!

by LWEW on 9/26/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

This is my second time seeing BMG in 11 years. It's surprising, imaginative and off-beat. Definitely worth seeing.

  • Lots of fun, but bring these

by EngineerDave on 9/26/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Earplugs and binoculars Great show with impressive stage props, but really loud sometimes continuous percussions. The best part of their mime humor was their facial expressions. Unless you are very close you need binocs to see them.

  • Not Impressed

by MW77 on 9/26/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 2 out of 5

There were some great parts to the show. However, I think I have seen better entertainment on America's Got Talent this season. It's too bad really because I was really looking forward to something spectacular. My 5 year old loved it though, so it was worthwhile for him. thanks fyi, the dinner part (with the lady from the crowd) was entirely too long. The build up was too time consuming. I actually heard other audience members asking "how long the show was and what time was it going to be over..."

  • by Binghams on 9/26/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

My 9 year old loved ALL OF IT. The performance appealed to all ages and the audiences engagement made it a very fun and interactive event.

Blue Man group came highly anticipated. The show entertained for an hour and a half without intermission. Full of high energy, humor, music, and fun. This show could be seen throughout the world and be enjoyable. Just wish it was longer!!!
