  • No Blues in Blue Man Group Show!

by 1stDictator on 10/2/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

We have seen the Blue Man Group online but nothing compares to being there in an enthusiastic audience. These people are multi-talented and know the magic moment and when to quit a skit or change it's direction to satisfy the audience. It is an improve kaleidoscope of clever vignettes and percussion performances. Kids welcome. A never forgotten experience.

  • Very entertaining and Original!

This is the second of their shows that I have been to, but was the first for my teenagers. Venue and show were a bit smaller than the Save Mart Center, but it made for a much more interactive performance. Audience members were drafted at times by the performers but were treated respectfully. Very entertaining mix of percussion music and comical performances by the Blue Men. Music was loud but not uncomfortably so, unlike several other musical performances/concerts I have recently attended. Unbelievable use of non-conventional instruments, resulting in unusual but outstanding music.

It was an awesome show. Loved the audience interaction they included. The percussion parts were outstanding and the "bits" were fun. It was made even more special for us as the sponsors selected us out of the audience for a seat upgrade..."Must Be in the Front Row"....Row A center woot!

The Blue Man Group's show was entertaining and full of unexpected delights. Who knew that a box of Captain Crunch could be so entertaining. I highly recommend it to anyone.

  • Take your reading glasses

by pollyg on 10/2/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Yes, from the beginning there was a bit of the written word. Lots of action and audience interaction. If you are a bit shy, do not sit in the front row. Definitely not a passive experience.

  • Always enjoyable

by nogo50 on 10/2/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

This is the third Blue Man Group show we've seen and they are all fun and entertaining. The touring group had numbers that the permanent shows in Chicago and Vegas did not have which made the evening more enjoyable. We would highly recommend this high energy performance to those that like something unusual. You may want to take earplugs, though, because it can get very loud.

Booty shaking, Twinkie popping, marshmallow tossing, pipe drumming fun!

  • Blue Man Group

This is definitely a show that is not for everyone. I bought the tickets for my husband and he loved it. My opinion is it is funny at spots but if you do not have an open mind, stay home!

  • Not impressed

by Blankday on 9/29/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 2 out of 5

I can see why blueman was so innovating when it first came put but they really need to re-think some new ideas.

  • The best show I have seen in years!!!

by Tomuku on 9/27/11San Diego Civic Auditorium - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

This show started out slower than the NYC show I saw or on their DVDs, but it definitely picked up over time. The iPhone/iPad part was pretty funny. But the finale... holy cow. When I looked it up online I guess its called Zygote Balls and that was INSANE. If there was any way to fully involve the audience, then throwing gigantic inflatable light up balls is a great way. The lyrics about "shake your booty" was hilarious. "Your butt, touckus, can, junk in the trunk, jar jar binks, derrière, ba donk a donk" ... who knew you could fill a song with nothing but references to your butt. Legendary.

  • Blue Man Group were very entertaining!!

by ptat on 9/27/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

The Blue Man Group were very funny and very, very, talented. The show moved along very quickly and the drum playing was absolutely excellent. I would very much recommend this to everyone.

  • Fun, but not for the money

by gmmrad on 9/27/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

Some of it was quite entertaining; some of it was lame or too slapstick for my taste. I think that, due to all the hype I've heard for so many years that I was expecting something much more amazing; like a Cirque du Sole sort of thing. If it was longer than 90 minutes and less than $90 I would have appreciated it more.

Blue man group was the best performance I've saw so far in my whole life. I enjoyed every bit of it. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone; GO SEE THEM, YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED. I would go back to see them another 10 times no questions asked.

Great show, I wish it had been longer. A good mash-up of their Vegas and road shows. Time to retire the rock star stuff, though.

  • Great performance!

by Sherem on 9/26/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic performance! The event was awesome, loved every minute of it. Some of the improvisation was also great during the act with the random audience members... assuming they were random. My wife said they were slow at some points, but I beg to differ, I thought they did a great job with building up to the different shows.
