  • Blue Man Group is a must see show for everyone

by iiisheets on 9/26/11San Diego Civic Theater - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

The show was excellent as always. BUT, the balcony seats, at $60.00 were terrible!!!! The top one fourth of the stage was blocked from view by the stage lights. There is a lot of the show that takes place in the upper part of the stage-the musicians, all the smart phone text segment was blocked from our view, as well as other stuff we we'll never know about. I wish I had read the other reviews before purchasing my tickets as I would have gladly spent more money for good seats as the show is well worth it!

This was extremely disappointing, especially since their original show showed more talent than flash. When the technical effects are more talented than the performers, this is a sad statement... Audience participation should have been less the star as well. I couldn't wait to get out of there...

  • Blue Man Moved the Crowd

by Allram on 9/26/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

To see 3,000 audience members of all ages shaking their booties was almost as entertaining as the Blue Men! The show really incorporated the audience (were there plants?) in a feel good and humorous way. Yet, some parts were slow and used up time cheaply. Even splashing drums can get boring. Entertaining.

  • Blue Man Group was better than I thought!

by CultureAddict on 9/25/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Was considering just sending my husband and teenage kids but ended up going with them. So glad I did. It was a delightfully entertaining, witty, funny performance! Much better than I had been told and perfect for the whole family. Would recommend to others!

It's the Blue Man Group. For it to be anything less than amazing is impossible. It was an awesome time, tons of great music, lots of laughter. A great time.

  • A great time set to some awesome percussion

by mshe33 on 9/25/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

This is my second trip to Blue Man land, and I will make an effort to go every time I can. It is energy and entertainment, set to drums, then thrown into a kaleidoscope. To enjoy at its fullest, be prepared to shake your booty.

  • Blue Man Group gets rid of the blues!

by glynne41 on 9/25/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

This was so amazing! Age range of our group was 15-70, and we were ALL thoroughly entertained! We were seated in Lower Loge, though, and I wish we could have participated in the part where huge lighted beach balls were being batted around by those seated in the orchestra and dress circle.

  • Had fun at Blue Man

by SDmom123 on 9/25/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Show was entertaining and fun! Brought our 17 yr old and he had fun as well. The audience warm up was hysterical with the video crawl. Liked the music instruments and how much they involve the audience. Definitely laugh out loud moments throughout. We didn't give it 5 stars because I thought it was slow at times and that some of the gags were dragged out a bit too long. The eating twinkie skit was an example of a funny skit - but they took forever choosing an audience member and then the eating portion was too long - even though the end was quite funny. Loved the "spit ball art" and the balls/TP in the audience.

  • awesome as always!

by betteen on 9/25/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

We had 2 newbies with us and 2 people that had seen the show years ago. Everyone really enjoyed the show. They had some new skits and kept it current.

  • Blue Man Group was awesome!!!!!!

by klbluemanfan on 9/25/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 3rd time seeing the Blue Man Group. I love how much they interact with the audience. This was my first time sitting up close. It was well worth the extra cash to get up in the first 10 rows. Next time I go I would want front row. These Men are great percussionist, as well as artists. Go see them now!!!!

  • Get closer seats!!

by MarzinSD on 9/24/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Was a great evening and a show. A bit disappointed with the balcony seats.. For once I went with what I thought was the middle of the price range (so glad I did not go cheaper) and while the show was great, the seats were disappointing. Learned my lesson for the Civic Center - there are sad seats.. So folks - great great show. but don't think the cheaper seats will give you as great of a show!

  • VERN's THOUGHTS

Very entertaining! My only regret was not taking my children to see the show.

  • Twelve year old humor

by Deedle1234 on 9/24/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

My son and I were seated in the balcony, and yes we did pay less than others that were seated downstairs and forward of us but, we also saw a lot less. Any visuals that were high and to the back of the stage were completely out of view. The skit with the twinkies was great for a kid and gross for an adult. To their credit, the electronic lighting and screens were amazing.

  • Worth seeing once

by GrumpySanDiegan on 9/24/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

This was my first BMG experience. I probably would have liked them 10 or 20 years ago when they were more edgy and experimental. In this concert they seemed too corporate-run, too commercial, designed to appeal to a mass audience. Some of the audience participation bits (young guy getting covered with paint) were fun; others (older lady eating a Twinkie) went on too long. Also, there was too much reliance on reading text onscreen. The whole idea of universal communication without language is defeated if we have to read text messages on screen. BMG was at their best when they just played their music.

  • We were disappointed..expectedf more.

by Barbles on 9/23/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

The performance was delayed for 30 minutes due to technical difficulties, so that kind of ruined it a bit. Started out very slow, picked up a bit...(we almost fell asleep). Ending was very good.

  • Must see

by 1EWB on 9/23/11San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

The audience participation was great and the music was good.
