Blippi The Musical on Stage

Blippi The Musical is a two-act comedy about a boy named Blippi who loves to play in the world while taking his viewers along for the ride. He inspires kids to explore their environment with curiosity and creativity, teaching them about responsibility through song and play. Stevin John is the original creative force behind Blippi, whose energetic, childlike persona is portrayed in thickly framed glasses, a blue button-down shirt, bright orange suspenders, bow tie, and cap to match. John wrote, acted, filmed, edited, produced and shared Blippi's first episodes on YouTube in 2014. The videos quickly became an obsession among kids between the ages of 2 and 6 years old, and the parents who discover Blippi in search of wholesome kids' content on the internet also appreciate John's safe material. The show's popularity amassed billions of view counts as Blippi catapulted into the limelight. John would eventually sign a master toy deal with Jazwares LLC and sell his edu-tainment program to Moonbug Entertainment, who partnered with Virgin Media to distribute the show in the United Kingdom. It's now dubbed in Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, German, Arabic, and Hebrew, and the spin-off show, "Blippi's Treehouse," began airing on Amazon Kids+ in 2021. This all-ages extravaganza produced by Round Room Live will feature a dynamic stage actor cast to perform Blippi The Musical on tour, thrilling live audiences nationwide.

    Not the real Blippi

by Federico on 2/11/20Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

What a deception... thousands of kids waiting to see this “new star” and at the end they send a double. The real Blippi is so important that he have to send a double to perform this musical? The show was very basic, 99.9% marketing and a very basic commercial product.

    Better, but wouldn't see again

by Robbie on 2/11/20Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

My 3 year liked it, knowing it wasn't the real Blippi it was just okay. At the end he started getting bored, cute but thought their could have been more action on stage. Nice new songs

Fun but wouldn’t do it again

by M. on 2/11/20Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

I think the best I could give this show is a 3 out of 5 and that’s probably being generous. While it was cute and fun it was definitely low budget production. The idea of a party was fun and helped keep the show going but towards the end they really lost me. I’m not sure why we were singing Ba Ba Black Sheep and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I was also disappointed they did not sing some of Blippis’ more popular songs. The 3 most important songs are the tractor song, excavator song, and fire truck song. Non of those were done. Out of all they did we knew 3 songs and we watch A LOT of Blippi. It was also very obvious to adults it was not Blippi but my kids did not notice at all. I liked the idea of a Blippi live show but they definitely have some work to do.

by Ally on 2/11/20The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach

The show was done so well. The team was well trained and they put on an amazing show that the kids will not soon forget. The venue was perfect and everything went so well. Impressed and hope they come back again!

Not worth more than 10 bucks

by Lyles mom on 2/10/20The Peabody Daytona Beach - Daytona Beach

Geared toward smaller children. Not his 6 year old crowd. No experiments or crowd interaction. Just a cheesy sing along.

Overall the show was great however the seats was too low

by Kim on 2/9/20Saenger Theatre Mobile - Mobile

The show was great however the seats at Saenger Theatre was to low that my child could not view even though we were in the first row. Would have given this show a 5 star but due to the horrible seating I can only give it a 3 star

    Blippi live

    by S. O. on 2/9/20BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

The kids loved the show, however, was not the real Blippi!!!’ My grandkids watch him every day and luckily our seats were in the balcony and they couldn’t tell. We paid for the meet and greet but did not go for fear it would ruin it for them! Wasted money for 5! Fraud! This isn’t Barney where anyone could play the character!

    Blippi Live Didn't Disappoint!

by DmplGrl on 2/8/20Saenger Theatre Mobile - Mobile

I'll be honest that I had my reservations after finding out that an actor was playing Blippi. But my son is only two so I didn't think he would really notice the difference. In my opinion the actor could have resembled Stevin John a bit more in the face, but he had the voice and mannerisms down perfect! The show was bright, fun, active and broken up into two toddler friendly time frames with a 20-minute intermission. me, my husband and our son all thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely go again.

    Blippi

by Grandma on 2/8/20Saenger Theatre Mobile - Mobile

Went with my daughter & her 2 year old in Mobile AL. From the moment the stage lit up until Blippi said his last “goodbye “, my grandson was mesmerized! Show was great, Saenger Theater beautiful, and we all had smiles on our faces!

    It was OK

by Ken on 2/7/20BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

My granddaughter (the only opinion that counts) spent a third of the show doing other things besides watching. She is a Blippi fan and was excited he was coming in person, so that surprised me a little. For me, extra credit to the actress that played the mechanic and the actor in the sheep skit. Their performances added some depth to a show that was mostly flat. But the bottom line is, the princess liked it and if Blippi came back to town we most likely would attend.

    Great evening

    by C. F. on 2/7/20BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

My 2 1/2 year old grandson was into the show the entire time! His mother and I were glad we did not pay the extra for the meet and greet since it was reported to not be the real Blippi, however if we had not seen that report online we would not have know from where we were seated. Our Everett was so excited, he cried when Blippi said good-bye and left the stage for the final time.

    Disappointed

    by K. C. on 2/7/20BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

The show only lasts an hour when you factor out intermission. During that time they do not play any of the YouTube songs that made Blippi “famous.” No excavator, no tractor, no garbage truck, no police car! Even the 3-year old was disappointed!

    No thanks

The impersonator was good but no one was familiar with most of the song choices. My 4 year old was bored to tears.

    Great show, stupid intermission.

by Justin on 2/7/20BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

The show was perfect for my kids, but the 20 minute intermission for a show that is an hour long is ridiculous. Trying to keep my a toddler occupied during that time was impossible. If you want to sale merchandise, set up more tables for shorter lines before and after the show. Don’t force parents to manufacture entertainment for 20 minutes in the middle of just an hour long show.

    Short performance

by Joely on 2/7/20BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

We only got about an hour of the show. There was a 20 minute intermission that I didn’t think was very good for little ones. My son asked me 30 times when they would come back on. The show was cute and my son enjoyed but it was expensive for how short it was.
