Blippi The Musical on Stage

Blippi The Musical is a two-act comedy about a boy named Blippi who loves to play in the world while taking his viewers along for the ride. He inspires kids to explore their environment with curiosity and creativity, teaching them about responsibility through song and play. Stevin John is the original creative force behind Blippi, whose energetic, childlike persona is portrayed in thickly framed glasses, a blue button-down shirt, bright orange suspenders, bow tie, and cap to match. John wrote, acted, filmed, edited, produced and shared Blippi's first episodes on YouTube in 2014. The videos quickly became an obsession among kids between the ages of 2 and 6 years old, and the parents who discover Blippi in search of wholesome kids' content on the internet also appreciate John's safe material. The show's popularity amassed billions of view counts as Blippi catapulted into the limelight. John would eventually sign a master toy deal with Jazwares LLC and sell his edu-tainment program to Moonbug Entertainment, who partnered with Virgin Media to distribute the show in the United Kingdom. It's now dubbed in Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, German, Arabic, and Hebrew, and the spin-off show, "Blippi's Treehouse," began airing on Amazon Kids+ in 2021. This all-ages extravaganza produced by Round Room Live will feature a dynamic stage actor cast to perform Blippi The Musical on tour, thrilling live audiences nationwide.

    Recommend for 3.5 and up!

    by Lauren on 2/23/20

This show is absolutely not for kids on the younger side despite the 2-6 recommended age. The show is loud, there are a lot of random lights flickering into the audience and the theatre was pretty dark. The older kids seemed to enjoy themselves but there were a lot of little one with heads buried in shoulders. My 2 year old only lasted 20 minutes. Nothing wrong with the show except the age range presented. They either need to rework or recommend only for older kids

It’ll make you want to shout!

by Brandy H on 2/23/20DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

For all those that make a big deal about the fact that it isn’t the real Blippi...the actor that played Blippi was AMAZING! Blippi’s friends were a nice touch too. We were a little sad he didn’t sing the excavator song, but overall that was worth every penny I spent on tickets. I saw Blippi is coming back to NC in June, I’m seriously considering taking my son again. PS myself and a lot of other parents were singing and dancing too! Thanks Blippi!!!

    Great time for Blippi fans

    by Andrew on 2/23/20

3 year old and 1 year old had an absolute blast. Yes, it wasn’t the real Blippi. No, the kids couldn’t tell. No, he didn’t sing some songs like the garbage truck or excavator, but he sang some hits like monster truck, brush your teeth, and dinosaur song. Strongly recommend if your kids are as obsessed as Blippi as our kids are

by Mimi on 2/23/20Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

We truly enjoyed the Blippi live show. It was very entertaining, not only for my grandson, but for the adults as well. The entertainers were very talented. Their high energy kept our attention! The content of the show was both educational & fun! We really liked the venue too! Great family memories were made!

    Great Venue / Okay show

by JT on 2/22/20Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

Cobb Center is always great from expressway access to parking to staff inside. The Blippi show left much to be desired. I saw several kids that fell asleep and parents weren’t very engaged. At one point my daughter said “is it almost over?”... it wasn’t. I understand this is their first live show so I expect them to learn and make a better show. I have to say I was impressed by the guy filling in for Blippi. I had low expectations but he delivered just as I would expect Steven to. Our last show we saw there was Wiggles and that show was great, plenty of entertainment even for adults (but they’ve been at this 25+ years). If your kid is a die hard Blippi fan they will have fun and I guess that’s what it’s all about. Side Note: several of the hit songs were MIA and I wasn’t the only one saying “he didn’t play excavator”

    Kids had a blast!

No one even noticed it was a Blippi impersonator. That did a great job. The show wasn’t too long. Very entertaining.

    Great

by R. on 2/22/20Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

Wonderful! The boys absolutely loved it!! Only negative thing I would have to say is whyyyy do a 20 minute intermission in the middle of a kids show!? It was a little rough trying to keep them occupied and them wondering when Blippi was coming back. Other than that it was great.

Kids will love it except the 20 minute intermission

by Ashley on 2/22/20Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

The show was great. Very engaging and exciting. The person they found to be “Blippi” was a very close match. The first boy complaint is that half way through the show they took a 20 minute intermission. The show itself is only an hour long. Doesn’t make sense to me when you consider your audience.

Great Fun! Looks just like the “Real” Blippi!

by GeneK on 2/22/20Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

We took our grandchildren and they loved the show! We heard that the the real Blippi would not be in the show, but the actor on stage sounded and looked exactly like the Blippi seen on YouTube! Highly recommend!

    Fun show for a three-year-old

by Rich on 2/21/20Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

My three-year-old had a blast. We were seated in the mezzanine level and he very much enjoyed it. There was no way he could tell it wasn't the real Blippi. Would highly recommend to any parent of a Blippi fan.

Our toddler was happy, isn’t that the point?

by JA on 2/21/20Lynn Auditorium - Lynn

Some of the reviews on here are critiquing from an adult perspective on what is entertaining. This show wasn’t for us, just as his videos aren’t made for our enjoyment. My son is 3 and was thrilled to see Blippi on stage. I know some of the bigger songs (tractor, garbage truck, etc) weren’t included but Monster Trucks and a couple others we knew were. I went in with low expectations and if I’m judging by my son’s excellent behavior on our laps with his eyes glued to the stage, then I would say Blippi pulled off a good show. My son adored Moe by the way. And for complaints regarding intermission, I get it now and I think it was a smart move. A long line in the women’s room is always expected, now add toddlers. Made perfect sense and I’m glad we had a potty break.

No what what I pay for!

by Andrea on 2/20/20Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

I am very disappointed about this event, not because was bad, but because it was not what i was aspecting to see. If i knew it was an actor i will never had gotten the tikets. I went with my 7 years old autistic son and my 3 year old daughter my son realized it was not the real Blippi and it was yearling it at the event, after i took him out and talked to him we came back, but it was no the same. My daughter enjoy it she was not aware of the difference. I also think that the show was to short. Only one hr and a half and in between a 20 minutes brake. It could have been at least 30 minutes more.

Both my boys had a great time

by Heather on 2/20/20Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

Both my boys 5 and 3.5 loved the show. Very happy that they had booster chairs available. Only complaint was the 20 min intermission and the long lines at the con session stand.

    Not worth the $$$

by Niki on 2/20/20Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

It was just OK. We learned after we bought tix that the real Blippo wasn’t performing. They didn’t do the main popular songs like the garbage truck or excavator songs. Really disappointed- and they took a 20 min intermission!!??

We had a great time the show is so Super cute. You couldn’t even tell that it wasn’t the real Blippy my kids didn’t even notice not even my 10-year-old. My kids didn’t stop singing the whole time His cast was equally as great Loved all the toys & T-shirts they had for sale.
