Blackberry Smoke on Tour
Though they've had their biggest success in the country market, the guys in Blackberry Smoke are rock 'n' rollers at heart. When they hit the concert stage, that becomes immediately apparent, but of course, so does the twangy side of their sound. Ultimately, what comes across is a roots-rocking blend that incorporates the influences of classic Southern rock, '70s/'80s heartland rockers and yes, a dash of modern country. And whether they're delivering a chugging good-time tune like "Rock and Roll Again" or a reflective ballad like "Let Me Down Easy," what comes through the loudest is the band's authenticity. These ol' boys are the real deal, playing it their own way with no nonsense and no rock-star moves. And since they do exactly what they feel, don't be surprised if that extends to covers of songs by their favorite artists such as Little Feat, The Grateful Dead or Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.
Blackberry Smoke in Concert
Blackberry Smoke has always done things their own way, rising to stardom by building an audience from the ground up, remaining resolutely independent and staying true to their roots. The band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2000, with singer/guitarist Charlie Starr, guitarist Paul Jackson, and brothers Richard and Brit Turner on bass and drums, respectively, and that lineup remained intact into their breakthrough and beyond, adding keyboardist Brandon Still in 2009. They released their debut album, Bad Luck Ain't No Crime, in 2003, but it wasn't until their third album, 2012's The Whippoorwill, that Blackberry Smoke started achieving major commercial traction. Their next record, 2015's Holding All the Roses, reached No. 1 on the country charts as well as No. 29 on the pop tally, underscoring the band's pan-genre appeal. Their homegrown blend of Southern rock and country has remained authentic and untainted through it all.

3rd time seeing BBS, 2nd at Genesee. Different sets and sounding better with each show. Can't wait for the next one!
First time seeing them. I love their music videos, and I expected to love their concert. But it was the loudest concert I’ve ever heard. (10-15 shows every year for 30-40 years, plus dozens of live bar music performances every year) It was so loud that the vocals were blaring and distorted. Maybe it wouldn’t have mattered if I knew their music well and knew the lyrics ahead of time? The band sounded great - even super loud. I won’t see them again. Concert tickets are too expensive to sit through 90 minutes of disappointment.
Excellent show exciting deep delve into both their old & new songs. Got to meet & greet the band w vip experience and it was great. Met many new friends and folks associated with Steepwater band.
I've attended many shows at the Fillmore, but this one was quite different — and not in a good way. I was initially excited about the reserved seating setup, which seemed like a great way to avoid the usual chaos of pushing and shoving up front. We bought our tickets well in advance and paid extra for seats close to the stage, expecting a better view and a more enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, that extra cost meant nothing. As soon as the lights went down for the main act, people from the back rushed forward, crowding the aisles and blocking the front rows — completely ignoring the reserved seating system. It was incredibly frustrating and disrespectful to those of us who paid for premium seats. What made it worse was the complete lack of response from the staff. No one attempted to manage the crowd or ask people to return to their seats, and when we looked for help, staff were nowhere to be found. This experience left a bad taste, and sadly, I think this will be my last show at the Fillmore in New Orleans.
If you’re not checking out Blackberry Smoke, what are you waiting for? GREAT music, Great shows, GREAT ticket prices! One on the few bands you can still afford to go see. I’ve seen them 5 times in 3 years and can’t wait to get Smoked again.
4th time seeing them. We splurged and got the photo package with the band. They were super friendly. Show was a blast as always
Saenger needs to do better with their seating chart. Those side seats up toward the front are not in the box and the box blocks a quarter of the stage. LOOPR or LOOPL front seats are partially blocked views

Could’ve skipped the opening act. Cashless venue is a joke
Phenomenal, great band live! Extremely enjoyable! Southern Rock never sounded so smooth!
I've seen Blackberry Smoke since they played small clubs 20+ years ago, and they are one of my favorite "new"bands to come out in a loooong time. They are the real deal, weaving influences of Skynyrd, the Stones, ZZ top, Aerosmith, Alman Bros and other great bands into their great hard "southern music"sound. Charlie Starr is definitely the man, and they just keep getting tighter and greater as the years go by. Never miss them when they come around!
Awesome night of rocking with Blackberry Smoke. They had it perfect; not too loud, lights not too flashy, great sound. They were right on it with all the songs they are known for and the encore was right on it as well. I'll see you again.
Not many bands have the three guitars and able to play together. They put on a fabulous flawless show. They transitioned from covers I to their own stuff to another cover seamlessly. I would see them again any time.
The show was excellent. Sang happy Birthday to the wife..made my night even better. The band was having fun and rocked the place Paul's home town. The Theater is awesome..100 years old ...beautiful place. All respect to the band for playing there. Support .
