Blackberry Smoke on Tour

Though they've had their biggest success in the country market, the guys in Blackberry Smoke are rock 'n' rollers at heart. When they hit the concert stage, that becomes immediately apparent, but of course, so does the twangy side of their sound. Ultimately, what comes across is a roots-rocking blend that incorporates the influences of classic Southern rock, '70s/'80s heartland rockers and yes, a dash of modern country. And whether they're delivering a chugging good-time tune like "Rock and Roll Again" or a reflective ballad like "Let Me Down Easy," what comes through the loudest is the band's authenticity. These ol' boys are the real deal, playing it their own way with no nonsense and no rock-star moves. And since they do exactly what they feel, don't be surprised if that extends to covers of songs by their favorite artists such as Little Feat, The Grateful Dead or Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

Blackberry Smoke in Concert

Blackberry Smoke has always done things their own way, rising to stardom by building an audience from the ground up, remaining resolutely independent and staying true to their roots. The band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2000, with singer/guitarist Charlie Starr, guitarist Paul Jackson, and brothers Richard and Brit Turner on bass and drums, respectively, and that lineup remained intact into their breakthrough and beyond, adding keyboardist Brandon Still in 2009. They released their debut album, Bad Luck Ain't No Crime, in 2003, but it wasn't until their third album, 2012's The Whippoorwill, that Blackberry Smoke started achieving major commercial traction. Their next record, 2015's Holding All the Roses, reached No. 1 on the country charts as well as No. 29 on the pop tally, underscoring the band's pan-genre appeal. Their homegrown blend of Southern rock and country has remained authentic and untainted through it all.

Great show all around - perfect evening - great opener and then Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs followed by, and then playing together with Blackberry Smoke! A great, loud, and awesome show from start to finish!

This band reminds me of a current Southern Rock band much like Allman Brothers and Marshall Tucker Band. I would go to see them again.

  • Absolutely amazing!

by Di on 6/30/25The Astro Theater - La VistaRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve seen Blackberry smoke twice before and they just keep getting better. This was my second favorite concert right after Lynard Skynard! Can’t wait to see them again. Please come back to Nebraska again soon!

  • Great Concert-other than opening band

by Howard S on 6/30/25The Astro Theater - La VistaRating: 5 out of 5

Opening band was not a good fit at all for Blackberry Smoke. Too loud, not good musicianship or, it was hidden by the extreme volume. Blackberry Smoke delivered a memorable set.

  • . BlackBerry Smoke was smoking hot!

by Tarah D on 6/30/25The Astro Theater - La VistaRating: 5 out of 5

Great concert. I didn’t want it to end! The band was tight & Charlie’s vocals are like butter! Can’t wait to see them again. The Astro in Lavista was an awesome venue. We will be back for many shows. Love the intimate size of the venue, there’s not a bad seat in the place.

  • Band was amazing…venue not so much

by Jay Dub on 6/30/25The Astro Theater - La VistaRating: 4 out of 5

Blackberry Smoke was well rested and sounded great…I have seen them over 10 times and they were better than ever. First time at the Astro. New building that uses the same stage for indoor and outdoor shows…this was indoors. The building is beautiful and the security and staff was excellent…here’s the problem. The acoustics for that building suck. I admit that I am an audiophile and I see 80+ live shows a year…but come on. The building was built for a purpose and they missed the mark. It was echoing and seemed tinny on the balcony level. The floor was somewhat better, but the premium seats are up above. Anyway, I would be back…but I will avoid the premium seats.

  • Sound Was Terrible

by OmahaShow on 6/30/25The Astro Theater - La VistaRating: 1 out of 5

We have seen several shows at the Astro Theater near Omaha, Nebraska. The sound was so bad that I had to wear ear plugs. It was loud and the songs were muffled. We left the show early and ran into other fans leaving because the quality of the sound was so bad.

  • Mother Nature

    by DAB on 6/26/25Holiday Trav-L-Park - Virginia BeachRating: 1 out of 5

Purchased tickets 6 months in advance for a fan (for her birthday) who has always wanted to see Blackberry Smoke live, had campground spot reserved, but weather forecast called for rain, so she then wanted to stay in a hotel. So, concert day, Mother Nature decides to unleash pouring rain and hail. BBS came on stage at 9 after the weather let up. Heard a song walking to the show, second half song when got to the chairs, half of another song then lightening hit, shutting down the show. Bottom line, for $1,200.00 saw 2 halves of songs, got Tshirts and a disappointmented birthday girl. BBS, as a headliner did not give us a show, would have nice if they would have come back the next day (Sunday) or something for the fans. Mother Nature won, birthday girl lost.

  • A perfect outdoor show

by Gabe on 6/9/25Vetter Stone Amphitheater - MankatoRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was plenty spacious with me able to get back to my spot near the front pretty easily. Blackberry Smoke always puts on a great show and this was no different. Nice and loud, great weather, and chill venue. Cannot ask for more.

  • Fun show with Blackberry Smoke

  • PHENOMENAL

by LORI on 6/9/25Vetter Stone Amphitheater - MankatoRating: 5 out of 5

Blackberry Smoke did not disappoint!! What an incredible show!! I'd do it again, and again, and again!! Could not get to our tickets online at the venue, or anytime during our 1.5 hour drive to the venue. Thankfully I had printed off verification and the cashier at the venue was able to pull it up. We were both a little under the weather and the smoke machine caused multiple coughing fits. So, if I had any suggestion, maybe not run it throughout the entire show? I saw another person on oxygen as well. Because we weren't feeling well, we missed the opportunity to be right up to the stage. I'm hoping Blackberry Smoke will offer us another opportunity in our area again soon. As for the venue itself......beautiful!!! Chairs were quite uncomfortable though. Great job on the vendors. Many options to choose from.

  • Always a great show

by Chris on 6/9/25Vetter Stone Amphitheater - MankatoRating: 5 out of 5

From the ticket sales to the end of the show it was a great experience. As far as the show itself goes, I’ve seen Blackberry Smoke from general admission to VIP, and they have always given us, the fans, the best show.
