Blackberry Smoke on Tour

Though they've had their biggest success in the country market, the guys in Blackberry Smoke are rock 'n' rollers at heart. When they hit the concert stage, that becomes immediately apparent, but of course, so does the twangy side of their sound. Ultimately, what comes across is a roots-rocking blend that incorporates the influences of classic Southern rock, '70s/'80s heartland rockers and yes, a dash of modern country. And whether they're delivering a chugging good-time tune like "Rock and Roll Again" or a reflective ballad like "Let Me Down Easy," what comes through the loudest is the band's authenticity. These ol' boys are the real deal, playing it their own way with no nonsense and no rock-star moves. And since they do exactly what they feel, don't be surprised if that extends to covers of songs by their favorite artists such as Little Feat, The Grateful Dead or Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

Blackberry Smoke in Concert

Blackberry Smoke has always done things their own way, rising to stardom by building an audience from the ground up, remaining resolutely independent and staying true to their roots. The band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2000, with singer/guitarist Charlie Starr, guitarist Paul Jackson, and brothers Richard and Brit Turner on bass and drums, respectively, and that lineup remained intact into their breakthrough and beyond, adding keyboardist Brandon Still in 2009. They released their debut album, Bad Luck Ain't No Crime, in 2003, but it wasn't until their third album, 2012's The Whippoorwill, that Blackberry Smoke started achieving major commercial traction. Their next record, 2015's Holding All the Roses, reached No. 1 on the country charts as well as No. 29 on the pop tally, underscoring the band's pan-genre appeal. Their homegrown blend of Southern rock and country has remained authentic and untainted through it all.

First BBS show. Way beyond expectations!!! This band really delivers a great show! Energy, Energy, Energy! No tracks, their songs sound like their recordings, with occasional twists thrown in to keep you on your feet. Fantastic!!!

I go see Blackberry Smoke at least 3 times a year. This was the best concert I have ever been to. We all really enjoyed it! The venue was great, all seats are good to experience the show.

  • Great show!

by Brack on 8/11/25Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Overall a pleasant experience, PNC Arena staff was courteous and helpful, kept the lines moving smoothly. Sound was superb and tested for an average 70-75db at the 6th row. I was quite surprised at the strength of Blackberry Smoke's set, honestly I was there to see Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs (who were great BTW). The encore set of Tom Petty's songs were fabulous!

  • Wet evening, Great Show

by Flipper on 8/10/25Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Show was light drizzle rain but with proper raingear, it was still very good show. Was excited to see Mike Campbell as always been a Tom Petty fan. He didn't disappoint even though his sound man was terrible (where was the bass}? Blackberry Smoke was the headliner and put on a great show. The encore with Mike Campbell joining them on stage was the highlight of the show. First time to Red Hat, won't be my last. Easy parking, some really great craft beer places close to hit before show. Grabbed a really good burger and beer at Parkside before show. Highly recommend this place for predinner meal.

  • One of the best bands to see live!

by Will on 8/10/25Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

You owe it to yourself see this band at least once live

  • Excellent Blackberry Smoke concert as always!

by Pam on 8/10/25Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

The Blackberry Smoke concert was excellent as always! The venue was not, final price for 1 beer was over $28.00 and water was over $6.00 BBQ sandwich was over $10.00 it did come with coleslaw but no silverware was provided- how odd(didn't get to try it) It was raining most all of the evening and no weather protection was provided to the smoker section however 2 "shade tents were provided for non-smokers just out of bounds of the smoking section, thus trying to smoke a wet cigarette was quite difficult and just that and the cost of food and beverages ruined the entire event for us, We will never spend our money going to event at the Red Hat Amphitheater again! But we are forever Blackberry Smoke fans and we will see them again at some other venues that are more affordable and better prepared for fowl weather to all the ticket holders, not just the non-smokers

  • Great Music in an Intimate Setting

  • The best rock band out there today

by Gaddzilla on 8/10/25Red Hat Amphitheater - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

BlackBerry Smoke plays original Southern rock with a style and ease that leaves everyone fully satisfied at the end of their show. Charlie Starr is one of the best guitar players playing today, and the whole band is so tight and make it sound and look so easy to be this good. It’s not that easy for most bands - go see Blackberry Smoke as soon as you can!

Traveled 3 hours to see the boys of BBS they never disappoint. The venue was very organized and the experience with the art park was great. Mike Campbell was excellent. Just like every time we have seen Blackberry they rocked it out. If they are in NY ( or within 8 hrs drive) we wouldn't miss the show. Thanks for coming back. 🐔

  • Hands Down, The Best Show Out There!

by Carlene on 8/4/25Rating: 5 out of 5

This was my 4th time seeing Blackberry Smoke! I was hooked when I saw them open for Tedeschi Trucks Band several years back. That was the last time they were the opening act! Blackberry Smoke does not disappoint! With them it is all about the music and making sure the crowd gets what they paid for and that is an outstanding show. I saw them 2 nights ago 8/2/2025 at Kemba Live in downtown Columbus, OH. Shannon McNally opened the show and then it was Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs. They were great! Then out comes Blackberry Smoke! Wow! What a show. It is none stop music. The crowd was on their feet during the entire performance. And for an encore they brought out Mike Campbell and for at least another 1/2 hour they played Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. It was fabulous. I wish I could just bottle up that entire show and replay it over and over again. This show ranks in my top 5 favorite concerts I’ve been to. I will continue to go see Blackberry Smoke every chance I get! People compare them to Lynyrd Skynyrd but personally, I think BBSmoke blows Skynyrd away. So stop just thinking about it! Do yourself a favor and get out there and buy those tickets to see the show. I promise you will not regret it.

  • Fun, good time, excellent music

by Rachael on 8/4/25Artpark Outdoor Amphitheater - LewistonRating: 5 out of 5

Blackberry Smoke rocked it. The band came out nonchalantly smiling at the crowd and with one chord blew everyone away. They sound just like their albums and the band was engaging to the crowd and having a good time up on stage. Charlie Starr is funny and just looks like a great guy to hang with. Crowd was older but we loved every minute of it! Ty Blackberry Smoke for a great evening of fantastic music!

  • Great Show - Not Exactly For Me
