Blackberry Smoke on Tour

Though they've had their biggest success in the country market, the guys in Blackberry Smoke are rock 'n' rollers at heart. When they hit the concert stage, that becomes immediately apparent, but of course, so does the twangy side of their sound. Ultimately, what comes across is a roots-rocking blend that incorporates the influences of classic Southern rock, '70s/'80s heartland rockers and yes, a dash of modern country. And whether they're delivering a chugging good-time tune like "Rock and Roll Again" or a reflective ballad like "Let Me Down Easy," what comes through the loudest is the band's authenticity. These ol' boys are the real deal, playing it their own way with no nonsense and no rock-star moves. And since they do exactly what they feel, don't be surprised if that extends to covers of songs by their favorite artists such as Little Feat, The Grateful Dead or Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.

Blackberry Smoke in Concert

Blackberry Smoke has always done things their own way, rising to stardom by building an audience from the ground up, remaining resolutely independent and staying true to their roots. The band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2000, with singer/guitarist Charlie Starr, guitarist Paul Jackson, and brothers Richard and Brit Turner on bass and drums, respectively, and that lineup remained intact into their breakthrough and beyond, adding keyboardist Brandon Still in 2009. They released their debut album, Bad Luck Ain't No Crime, in 2003, but it wasn't until their third album, 2012's The Whippoorwill, that Blackberry Smoke started achieving major commercial traction. Their next record, 2015's Holding All the Roses, reached No. 1 on the country charts as well as No. 29 on the pop tally, underscoring the band's pan-genre appeal. Their homegrown blend of Southern rock and country has remained authentic and untainted through it all.

  • Well spent evening!

    by JW3 on 10/18/24Avalon Theatre - Grand JunctionRating: 5 out of 5

Had not ever heard them before the concert. A great evening with a band that truly enjoys playing some great music together. They played only for 45 minutes however it was all music and went home thinking I would enjoy catching them again. Avalon is a great venue for smaller concerts.

  • Perfection

From the opening notes from Hippies and Cowboys to the encore from Blackberry Smoke the evening was a musical masterpiece ! Go see either of these bands- you won’t be disappointed !

  • Best Concert Ever, Poor Opening Act

    by C P on 10/13/24Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing Blackberry Smoke live, and let me say, I was absolutely blown away. It was one of the best concerts I have ever been to, and if your focus is not on the "light show"but on the live musicianship, save perhaps Billy Strings, this was the best. They sound exactly like the record live, but in many cases even better because of the raw sound. Charlie is amazing with crowd work and made the whole experience so much fun for everybody. The opener was Almighty Trouble Brothers however, and the sound mixing for the opener was so terrible that I wanted to walk out then and there. It was the worst sound mixing I have ever heard, muddy and terrible. This concerned me for the sound mixing for the main act but when Blackberry came on they quickly got the sound mixed correctly and sounded incredible for a live show. As a bizarre contrast Blackberry's mixing was the best I've heard and Almighty Trouble Brothers was by far the worst. Which leaves me with this, go see Blackberry Smoke live, they absolutely do not disappoint. Just don't walk out if the opener is awful, stay for the main act, it's worth every penny.

  • Love them LIVE!

by Deb on 10/13/24Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

For being a rescheduled event, I was surprised by how many fans showed up! I had only seen them once before and was struck by their talent. April 2013 Kansas Speedway is when I first saw them live! The show was great! The energy they create is fun to watch! Their music is legendary (or at least I believe it is) . If you should ever get a chance to see them live I encourage it, the music is great but being live is over the top!

  • Great show by Blackberry Smoke

by Stevie G on 10/13/24Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

The opening band was not good at all. It did not help their cause that their sound man did bad job of sound mixing. Then Blackberry Smoke hits the stage and the sound was awesome. They always put on a good show but this time was their best one yet after seeing them 10 other times.

  • Phenomenal

by Kel on 8/27/24Cadence Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Easy parking short walk amazing venue. This is the best venue in Atlanta, Georgia, especially for disabled people That can walk due to its small size. It would be extremely difficult to have a wheelchair in this facility though. Blackberry smoke concert is phenomenal . Your security scanner is too small. It required me to be searched physically because I have a nerve stimulator in my right, and cannot go through your scanner.

  • INCREDIBLE SHOW!!!

by WigwagKim on 8/27/24Cadence Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This show was absolutely AMAZING! From the show put on by 49 Winchester to the guys and their special guests. Everything was perfect!! As usual, the boys were spot on all night and the Betty's, Princess and Daisha were all on fire!! Their voices are always so angelic! The guys could not have done a better job paying tribute to their lifelong friend and brother, Brit Turner. He was one incredibly special person who will be sorely missed forever by everyone he met and all that knew and loved him. Thank you for a very special evening!!!

  • Best for Brit

by Ketchup on 8/26/24Cadence Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The Brit Turner remembrance concert was an awesome spectacle. So much love and music along with some of our favorite fans. Best part of this band is the fans... sometimes

Blackberry Smoke was INCREDIBLE! Such a fun concert. Can’t wait to go see them again!

  • Great show, venue organizers not so much

by WootDawg on 8/26/24Cadence Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Blackberry Smoke always puts on an amazing show. They are the best sounding live band consistently that I have ever seen. Chastain Park is an excellent venue but for some reason they didn't open the gates until 7:00 for a show that started at 7:30. This caused the majority of the crowd to miss 49 Winchester who was the opening band. They are a great band as well and deserved to be seen.

  • Awesome show

by Rob from Cobb on 8/26/24Cadence Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Openers 49 Winchester were excellent. Band was great and 3 guitar "attack"was sweet. BlackBerry Smoke was in excellent form. Great lyrics, audience participation was in force for several songs. Fantastic back drop screen that featured Brother Britt in memorandum. Shed a tear for that night, special....

  • Great live music experience!!

I was familiar with some of Blackberry Smoke’s songs. To hear them live, was on another level!! Great show!

  • Awesome show

The Blackberry Smoke show at Cadense Bank Amphitheater was an incredible show. I have seen the band several times and this may have been the best show I have ever seen them do. They were on point.
