Blackberry Smoke on Tour
Though they've had their biggest success in the country market, the guys in Blackberry Smoke are rock 'n' rollers at heart. When they hit the concert stage, that becomes immediately apparent, but of course, so does the twangy side of their sound. Ultimately, what comes across is a roots-rocking blend that incorporates the influences of classic Southern rock, '70s/'80s heartland rockers and yes, a dash of modern country. And whether they're delivering a chugging good-time tune like "Rock and Roll Again" or a reflective ballad like "Let Me Down Easy," what comes through the loudest is the band's authenticity. These ol' boys are the real deal, playing it their own way with no nonsense and no rock-star moves. And since they do exactly what they feel, don't be surprised if that extends to covers of songs by their favorite artists such as Little Feat, The Grateful Dead or Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.
Blackberry Smoke in Concert
Blackberry Smoke has always done things their own way, rising to stardom by building an audience from the ground up, remaining resolutely independent and staying true to their roots. The band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2000, with singer/guitarist Charlie Starr, guitarist Paul Jackson, and brothers Richard and Brit Turner on bass and drums, respectively, and that lineup remained intact into their breakthrough and beyond, adding keyboardist Brandon Still in 2009. They released their debut album, Bad Luck Ain't No Crime, in 2003, but it wasn't until their third album, 2012's The Whippoorwill, that Blackberry Smoke started achieving major commercial traction. Their next record, 2015's Holding All the Roses, reached No. 1 on the country charts as well as No. 29 on the pop tally, underscoring the band's pan-genre appeal. Their homegrown blend of Southern rock and country has remained authentic and untainted through it all.

THIS VENUE WAS AWESOME . NICE AND SMALL , INTIMATE SETTING . THE BAND IS JUST AS GOOD AS I THOUGHT THEY WOULD BE . THEY HAVE SOME GREAT MUSIC AND DO A GREAT JOB LIVE . THEY JUST GET IT , KNOW HOW TO WORK THE CROWD AND PLAY RIGHT TOO YOU . i WOULD DEFINITELY GO SEE THEM AGAIN .
We went not knowing what to expect and was so surprised at how much we thoroughly enjoyed the concert. We even loved hearing Drake White Band they were great. I would definitely recommend these bands!
The guys brought it. Great show. Drake White was outstanding too.
We first saw Blackberry Smoke when they opened for the Zac Brown Band at Cheyenne Frontier Days two years ago. We were hooked back then and the band just keeps reeling us in tighter. The sell-out show at Summit Music Hall Jan. 19 was absolutely fantastic and Charlie, Brit, Richard, Paul and Brandon definitely lived up to the title "Ones to Watch." If you like classic Sothern Rock - you'll be addicted to BBS after just one set. Their energy is contagious and their musicianship impeccable. As for their songwriting skills - they write the kind of songs where you don't want to miss a word because that's part of the magic. This band is going places in today's music world - and they deserve every accolade they receive. Check them out on iTunes and then buy a ticket the next time they're in your neighborhood. You won't be disappointed. And finally ... They're just really great, down-to-earth guys - the kind we need a lot more of in this world.
Awesome venue...great band! The venue was so nice, not packed, easy to get to bar and bathrooms. The band was great...played long came out afterwards and signed things, took pictures with fans.
These guys were great as always. I love the fact you can vist with them after the show on a personal level. Go see them if you get the chance.
Great show....Sold out and the crowd was crazy.....
Got the ladys booties shaken and the men feet a tapin
This was The best show I have been to in some time. Blackberry Smoke played long and hard. It is obvious that this band has a lot of passion for thier music and for thier audience. The music they play is not the normal redundant cliche that many of the bands that bill themselfs as Southern Rock Bands tend to play...very refreshing! I can't wait to see them again!!!
These guys put on the best show. Massive amounts of talent and great showmanship equals great music and a great night out. We will most definitely be watching for them to come around again.
The show was excellent, however, the venue - not so much!
Enjoyed the show very much. Blackwater Smoke and and Drake White. Very good up and coming names. I really liked the opening act, Drake White, I thought that the 2 bands worked quite well together. Blackwater Smoke is a great southern rockin band from Atlanta. Reminded me alot of Allman Brothers. You'll be hearing both of their names again.
This band is THE BEST. First show we saw was in Wisconsin. Since then, made trips to Las Vegas, Florida, Iowa and Illinois to see them. Every show better than the one before.
Black Crows, Alllman Brothers, ZZ Top, Eric Church and Keith Urban would love this band. The crowd loved every tune, singing every song and the band fed off the enthusiasm of the crowd. Some of the band was sick and they gutted out a fantastic performance. I hope they come to Summerfest in Milwaukee this summer! Charlie- lead vocals and lead guitar can really play! They rocked the house... Can't wait to catch their next time in Chicago or Milwaukee. I have seen Aerosmith, Joe Walsh, Steve Miller Band, Eric Church and others this year- these guys play it loud and proud and Blackberry Smoke can entertain with the best of them. Guess we know why Zac Brown Band loves them!
I've seen these guys 3 times now and each show has been amazing. They seemed a little slow this time, but that's understandable as they even told the crowd that they were all sick with colds and the flu. We had a great time though and glad we came out on a cold night in Chicago!
These guys are truly amazing! Everyone should make it a priority to see them when they come to their town.
Always a great time at the House of Blues! I was happy that I received the notification that Blackberry Smoke was playing at HOB so the upcoming Live Event emails are a nice added touch. Atmosphere was great, music jammed and I was a fan of Blackberry Smoke before and it only made me like them more...
They are best band I have heard in a long time. Real country music in the Skynard tradition.
Greatest band I have heard in many years. I have two cds and several t-shirts! These guys ROCK and everyone should go and see them. I know I will be back next time. God Bless Blackberry Smoke!!!!!
